It’s divided into two parts, Shad Landing (south side) and Milburn Landing (north side), which are about a 25 minute drive apart. The combination of ecosystems means the park is home to a plethora of plant and animal life including white dogwood and pink laurel trees, river otters, bald eagles and over 50 species of fish.There is no shortage of traditional camping activities, but the park also boasts an Olympic-sized swimming pool in case you decide “I can’t take this no more," and make like Squints from the Sandlot. HORSES WELCOME! Why not run your horse on the beach, then come to our campsites to relax for the rest of your day. There is a fenced pasture positioned next to the sites so you can see your faithful friend enjoying some grass or hay. We have a new Zinger 29' trailer set up with a bunk room and another bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom. It can easily sleep six people. If you have your own RV, we have a full hook up at the same area. The pasture where your horse stays will also have hay, water and shelter with a run-in. This is a sanctuary for our animals. We have nine animals here, four horses (some minnies) and five donkeys (some minnies). By staying here, you will be helping us to support our animals. We are in Frankford, De which is close to all the beaches and parks. There are many shopping adventures awaiting you, either outlets or upcycle stores. If you just want to relax, there is a small pond out back stocked with bass and turtles. We have 17+ acres but we only use the front five acres and leave the rest for the deer, foxes, eagles, hawks and whatever else shows up. We believe this is Heaven on earth and would love to share it will you. So please come, stay at our farm and relax. We are here year round.

The cabin is located on a rural road that is a five minute drive to downtown Onancock, which offers a coffee shop, several restaurants, bakery, shops, Saturday farmers’ market, and the harbor. Chincoteague and the famous ponies are 35 minutes north, and bougie Cape Charles is 40 minutes south.
When you open the door to this 300’ gem, you will step back in time to a simpler way of life. Camp in a backyard in a quiet area with a barn and horses nearby. Site 1 has water hookup and a 30 amp and 110 outlet available. Site 2 has water access and a 110 outlet available. Site 3 is for tent camping only and is more secluded. It does have water access available. These sites are a great spot to watch the sunset or watch the stars at night. These all are self contained camping spots. I do have two very friendly dogs that will most likely come say hi to you. Dewey Beer is 1 mile away in Harbeson. Lewes beach is only about 10 minutes away and Rehoboth beach is about 20 minutes away. Sports at the beach is only 5 miles away. Tanger outlets is 8 miles away. Delaware Turf sports complex is 24 miles. There are many great restaurants and shopping nearby. You can also bring your bikes and ride the bike trail from our lane to Lewes or Rehoboth! I loved camping here! The sunset was gorgeous, the site was spacious, and the compost toilet was 5 stars. I really appreciated having access to firewood as well. Downtown Cambridge was ~20 min straight shot with several waterfront parks that my dog and I enjoyed. The Osprey nest around the bend was the cherry on top a wonderful trip.

That's exactly what we did! And we had a great weekend! This was our 2nd visit to Why Not Acres and we hope to return again!
We brought 2 horses. There is a great paddock right near the RV sites and tent sites...fenced with a run in shed. We felt totally comfortable with the horses being safe and no risk of running away.
Assateague is only 35 minutes away, so we were able to go for the day and ride the beach and then come back for a nice campfire, dinner and relax!
Or you can ride on the property. They have trails in the woods and a good space for the horses (or the people) to stretch their legs without leaving.
Marian and Mike are such great hosts. They are wonderful people who care very much about their property, the animals in their care and of course about the experience of their visitors! Thank you so much for making our stay great!
This is an outstanding camping or RV option if you're looking for something in this area.
We really do look forward to our next visit.

Incredible views and total tranquility! We stayed in Site #4, which had a perfect, unobstructed view of the sunsets. It’s a great area to explore with a restaurant and tiki bar just down the road. Note: Site #4 is not full hookup—it has sewer access but not a dedicated port like Sites 1-3. We'll definitely stay here again!

It was a nice quiet grassy site. The composting toilet was appreciated. We enjoyed the fire pit and the eagles. It makes access to Blackwater Wildlife Refuge and the Harriet Tubman sites easy. The recommendations for Layton’s Chance Winery and Old Salty’s were spot on.

The owners were super friendly and accommodating. When we arrived there was a glitch in our reservations, but they resolved the issue quickly. The land and was beautiful, quiet and called for us to relax and enjoy! RV sites were clean, well maintained and had full hookup! Hubby caught quite a few bass in their pond, and our dogs loved playing in the woods. Their rescue donkeys were full of personality and we loved visiting them! We will definitely return!

This was such a wonderful place! Dawn is so sweet and the space is extraordinary. The horses, highland cows, turkeys, chickens, dogs, and donkey are really a nice treat, and seeing the animals being tended to and the inner workings of a farm is really a refreshing experience.
The location is within 20 minutes to Cape Henlopen, 45 minutes to Ocean City, and 55 minutes to Assateague Island. Plenty of restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores within a few minutes. We took a 23 foot travel trailer. We emptied our tanks at Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay RV park 10 minutes down the road.
The site was quiet, private, and very well maintained. Water and electric at the site. Starlink gets great service! PLENTY of wood to scavenge for in the vast forest for campfires
One of our favorite things was the sweet little terrier who lived on the property. She visited us everyday and followed us around. She was so sweet and loved being pet.
