Campsite on 100-acre retired farm turned into conservation land. This 6-generation property is a refuge for wildlife and people alike. The site is nestled in a large clearing in the forest in a remote location, with the benefit of a small farm at the end of the lane at our home and a short drive to a variety of activities. The 1 mile long lane is perfect for walking/biking. Visit our Miniature Horses through the fence and run into our 8 cats and dog (friendly) if you wander near the main house. Check out our conservation planting of 3000 native flowering shrubs and trees. Our wildlife neighbors deer, bunnies and turkeys love to hang out in the lane. Several trails cut through the woods. You’ll be well equipped with: Large Safari Tent with windows & fly screens on raised deck 2 Adirondack Chairs, two picnic tables Primitive bathroom w/ pop up enclosure for privacy Queen bio-foam bed Insulated Water Cooler for hand/dishwashing Sun shower & garbage can Fire pit w/ removable grill Coleman Roadtrip propane grill & Fire Extinguisher 4 Coleman folding chairs Coleman battery lanterns, flashlights & fans 2 Extra tents available on request Extras available for a fee: Kayaks (ask host for transportation options), Linens, air mattress, Thermo-cell insect repellent devices. A lot to do within a 15-40 minute drive Local Farmer’s Market Barefoot Farms or grocery pick-up at Walmart-15 min Beaches-Ocean City, MD & Assateague Island National Seashore (Wild Horses on the Beach) Chincoteague Island, VA has access to the Virginia end of Assateague & old-style beach town-30 min Public Landing Beach (small on bay overlooking Assateague Island, minimal waves, great for small children) boat ramp and swimming/fishing pier-15 min Pocomoke State River Forest, Shad Landing and Milburn Landing. Great fishing & natural attractions-15 min Berlin, MD “America’s Coolest Small Town” (Budget Travel)-25 min Snow Hill, MD has boutiques, restaurants and two parks on the Pocomoke River. Unfortunately we Didn’t make it to the camp site (our fault!!) but communication was awesome and they seem like such lovely people! So disappointed we missed out but can’t wait to try again next time we’re passing through, looks like a really special spot!

We had the privilege of being Jon and family's very first Hipcamp guests, and what a fantastic experience it was! If you're considering booking this property, don't hesitate. It's one of those rare places that's easy to reach but feels wonderfully secluded and peaceful. The location is excellent. It's just minutes from Snow Hill, where we spent a few hours kayaking through the stunning cypress groves of the Pocomoke River. Berlin is also a short drive away and is full of charming shops and restaurants. It's also conveniently located near Assateague Island, making it a great base for exploring the area. What truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. Jon and his family have thought of everything. They even had additional tents and cots available for our group and would have provided linens if we'd needed them. You can arrive with little more than food and ice and have just about everything else covered. Communication was excellent throughout our stay. They were responsive, welcoming, and struck the perfect balance between being available when needed and respecting our privacy. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the accommodations were spotless, and the attention to detail was evident everywhere. We only live about an hour away, but this felt like a true getaway. We left thoroughly impressed and are already planning a return visit. Without question, one of the best Hipcamp experiences we've had!
