This is a quaint, off grid cabin located in Elliotsville, Me., surrounded by wilderness, next to the Appalachian Trail in the 100 Mile Wilderness. Propane lights, glass front woodstove, fully operational kitchen, propane cookstove, fire pit out front, BBQ grill on porch. Firewood and propane and plenty of water at sink provided. 2 8ft kayaks for your use to explore all the ponds and lakes nearby. You can spend days or weeks exploring the area, hiking, biking, canoeing, mountain climbing and swimming. Its like going back in time a hundred years but you have some cell reception, unlike our ancestors. Have made several improvements to cabin not yet reflected in guest photos. Yeti type cooler provided for refrigeration of food for longer stays. The cabin is small but can accommodate 5 easily. Queen bed with bunk beds in 1st floor bedroom, full size and twin bed in upstairs bedroom. Clean linens provided. Open kitchen and living room. Seems like most people love it. Pretty sure you will too. So much to do in the area. Be as bored or as active as you want. Welcome book with directions to local spots all very close. Waterfalls, the most beautiful lake (Onawa), swimming holes... all close by. Appalachian trail out back. Other sites close by must be driven to but close by still, away from town. We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property
They used it as a place for their family to
gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.
We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field.
We are going through some growing pains. We currently have no hookups available. We have added a bath house with hot showers which will soon be up and running. The camp sites have been relocated deeper into our property. A loop road behind our private pond provides the access. We will be adding power and water to all our sites as soon as possible. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near.
You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes.
Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

Eustis offers Flagstaff Lake, a popular spot for Kayakers. The lucky ones get a glimpse of a Moose.Maybe you prefer Biking or golfing in Carrabassett at Sugarloaf, hiking in Coos Canyon in Weld, Whitewater Rafting in the Forks Certain times of the year folks take tubes floating down the Sandy River. Our ATV trail is right out of the driveway heading up the dirt road.
There is a lot to see and do in the area. . We look forward to meeting our guests, our new friends. Bring food, ice, clothing, extra blankets if you are one that gets chilled at night and of course some bug and tick repellent. Your site will be well stocked for comfort. We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property
They used it as a place for their family to
gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.
We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field.
We are going through some growing pains. We currently have no hookups available. We have added a bath house with hot showers which will soon be up and running. The camp sites have been relocated deeper into our property. A loop road behind our private pond provides the access. We will be adding power and water to all our sites as soon as possible. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near.
You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes.
Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

Weekend Trip to 100 Mile Wilderness Cabin
This was our second visit to Paul's cabin and did not disappoint again. Paul made sure there was enough water and wood to last our stay. There is now a flushing toilet outside which was a nice treat. There are many fantastic walking trails close by including the Appalachian Trail. This time round we spent time at North Pond and Juniper Knee Pond and hiked 4ish hour to Little Wilson Falls (there and back and time at the falls).

I had the BEST two nights staying at the Bird’s Nest! It was so beautiful and cozy. The weather held out long enough to enjoy walking through the trails on the property, and building a fire in the wood stove was perfect for the rainy and chilly evening. What an awesome spot! The Birds Nest doesn’t disappoint. The Nest sits on the same property as the owner but it’s far enough away that you can’t even see anything. Such a magical little cabin with an awesome wood stove that will keep you more than cozy. Everything was nice and clean/tidy….the outhouse was the same.
Amazing location for hiking.
World class fly fishing in the Carrabassett River not far away.

Lisa was amazing about communicating before and during my trip. She was also super helpful on directing me to the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The Brid's Nest was exactly as described, and. a fun cabin to stay in. It is a little bit of a walk up to the cabin, but there is a wagon to help load up your suitcases. Sunrise through the trees the next morning was absolutely beautiful along with my drive to my next destination. If you don't mind glamping without the extra fluff, I recommend staying here!

my husband and i camped at the christmas tree farm for 2 nights while going to the common ground fair. it was convenient to be so close, and we had a lot of privacy and space. we enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinner on our little stove top at the picnic table on top of this hill with a beautiful view of the fields and mountains. the sunrises and sunsets were absolutely divine and we slept under a bright blanket of stars! jesse was incredibly accommodating and helpful, while also giving us space to relax and enjoy our stay. our only challenge was finding a flat place to camp, but by the second night we found a spot that suited us well. i'd recommend arriving before nightfall to pick out an ideal flat camping spot if you're tent camping. cheers!
