We are additionally proud to be cannabis caregivers here in Maine, devoted to living soil-grown, rare genetics and terpene-rich strains that express the medicinal power of the plants, particularly pertaining to the endocannabinoid system’s function within the human body.

Our outpost is located ½ way to the cabin/campsite area and across from the event field. Offerings rotate seasonally to include in-house-made goods and services.
We are also happy to offer cannabis caregiver services on site with a diverse selection of small batch flower and other THC/CBD products to enjoy while finding your Peace Of Maine.
We occasionally host unique events and services that will be announced on our social media pages and may be requested for small groups with prior arrangements made. Spacious Skies Balsam Woods is a hidden paradise of a campground located right in the heart of Maine, just a half hour south of Moosehead Lake, the largest lake in Maine, and 60 miles as the crow flies from the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, Mt. Katahdin, in Baxter State Park.
We offer both wooded and open sites that can accommodate most rigs. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, water, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and most offer sewer. Groups and tent campers are welcome.
Balsam Woods campground is less than a minute’s drive from Piper Pond, a 2-mile-long lake with public boat launch and beach access. Onsite, we have a camp store and snack bar stocked with necessities, treats, and goodies for the whole family. There is no shortage of fun activities with our heated pool, classic rec hall, playground, a new jumping pillow, and gem mining! This is a quaint, off grid cabin located in Elliotsville, Me., surrounded by wilderness, next to the Appalachian Trail in the 100 Mile Wilderness. Propane lights, glass front woodstove, fully operational kitchen, propane cookstove, fire pit out front, BBQ grill on porch. Firewood and propane and plenty of water at sink provided. 2 8ft kayaks for your use to explore all the ponds and lakes nearby. You can spend days or weeks exploring the area, hiking, biking, canoeing, mountain climbing and swimming. Its like going back in time a hundred years but you have some cell reception, unlike our ancestors. Have made several improvements to cabin not yet reflected in guest photos. Yeti type cooler provided for refrigeration of food for longer stays. The cabin is small but can accommodate 5 easily. Queen bed with bunk beds in 1st floor bedroom, full size and twin bed in upstairs bedroom. Clean linens provided. Open kitchen and living room. Seems like most people love it. Pretty sure you will too. So much to do in the area. Be as bored or as active as you want. Welcome book with directions to local spots all very close. Waterfalls, the most beautiful lake (Onawa), swimming holes... all close by. Appalachian trail out back. Other sites close by must be driven to but close by still, away from town. • There is a hammock with a shade cover at the cabin for you to use.
• There is a bug net provided in the cabin if you're in need of some extra protection indoors.
• Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is a short drive with a few hiking trails.
• Baxter State Park & Acadia National Park are each an hour and a half away (just in opposite directions).
• A composting toilet is on site, with a scoop and bucket of sawdust to cover waste. I you need to pee, find a tree! If it's number two, use the loo!
• No electricity at the cabin or on the property
• No running or potable drinking water. Must bring in water.
• The cabin is quite cozy for 1-2 people and/or 1-2 fur babies. The cabin itself has an 8x10’ floor plan with a full size futon. The deck gives another 3’ to enjoy your inside/outside stay.
• The property DOES get full sun so be aware of finding shade throughout the day! I like to enjoy the river(s) and explore the area during the peak heat hours!
• Mosquitos like to come out at dusk. I do have some citronella candles but it would be best if you came prepared with bug repellent!
• There is a New tiny cabin construction on site!
• This cabin is NOT private - one dwelling is visible but it is also NOT a rental.

As others have mentioned, Bob is a great host - very communicative before, during, and after trip.
The cabin is stocked with camp chairs, cots, lights, headlamp, paper goods, some small folding tables, and bug spray. You may want to bring a larger table if you plan on cooking on a camp stove. There's a large table down by the pond but that's a 10 min walk from the cabin.
One of my dogs is reactive and it was so nice that she could run around off leash and swim without any issues.
The cabin feels really remote but Belfast is only 10 minutes away.
We would definitely stay again.

Have the Maine woods for yourself! It’s a Gem, the campgrounds are amazing, super private and peaceful, but the Cabin it’s something else! It feels like the wonderland! Having that tittle cabin for yourself by the beautiful Douglas pond, full of fish, it’s something that you can’t describe here, you have to live it to feel it! The hosts are awesome and make sure to ask for the menu, you won’t find fresher food anywhere! Me and my family looved and coming back soon ❤️

Weekend Trip to Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond
Robert was an exceptional host! The cabin felt secluded and off the grid, while still being close enough to town and amenities when needed. The drive in was a little rough in spots, but taking it slow made it manageable! The cabin itself was cozy, comfortable, and stocked with the essentials—the cots, chairs, and solar lights were especially helpful!!
Our pup had so much fun exploring the woods. We also spent some time down by the pond and even managed to catch a huge bass, which was a highlight of the trip!
Robert was incredibly communicative, accommodating, and kind throughout our stay. We unexpectedly had to cut our trip short, and he was extremely understanding and generous during the situation. We truly appreciated his hospitality and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the cabin - it's a beautiful place, cozy and comfortable, quiet, with lots of windows and gorgeous views. The deep, claw-foot outdoor bathtub is definitely a highlight and worth returning for all on its own! I should've added another night just so I could devote an entire day to that amazing tub. But we had fun walking the trails, playing board games, and hanging out by the fire pit, too - and our dog had a blast running around the wide open space, when she wasn't basking in the sun. I'd enthusiastically recommend this cabin to anyone.

Very unique & cozy space within peaceful & idyllic surroundings! Everything was exactly as described upon arrival to Little Valley, and I was very impressed with the attention to detail with the cabin, which was generously-stocked with all needed camping & kitchen supplies. Location is within a half-hour to several popular hiking trails around the Farmington area, but there's some fun trails on-site to explore too. I hope to revisit this slice of paradise during winter season at some point in the future - couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Michelle's cabin was a great spot to stay overnight, she was communicative and clear with directions and always easy to get in touch with. The cabin was quaint, cosy and fit 3 people without a problem, the outhouse and shower were clean and super helpful, too - definitely would stay again!

2 nights at Riverview cabin
This was a great cabin! Had everything we needed and kept us nice and warm through the night. Jamin was super helpful in showing us how to get to the cabin when we arrived in the dark. Did some fishing and was perfect for our two nights. We were there in mid November and were so grateful he kept the cabin running for us.

Weekend Trip to 100 Mile Wilderness Cabin
This was our second visit to Paul's cabin and did not disappoint again. Paul made sure there was enough water and wood to last our stay. There is now a flushing toilet outside which was a nice treat. There are many fantastic walking trails close by including the Appalachian Trail. This time round we spent time at North Pond and Juniper Knee Pond and hiked 4ish hour to Little Wilson Falls (there and back and time at the falls).
