WELCOME to Happy Hippie Lane Maine! Get your "groove" on or hang loose here on a precious little island with a big bridge just off route one in the heart of Midcoast. Hundreds of guests report the perfect balance of upbeat fun and chill time and call our place and hospitality "magic", "amazing" and "holy guacamole!" It is a lovely spot just off the beaten path but close enough to access the frey. :) I welcome my guests personally and have likely had a chat before you booked. I like to know what your hopes and priorities are around your stay before I accept so I can meet both of our needs. When you arrive, I will greet you and share a little history/tour of the place. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. Ellie's RV Spot is a single RV site designed for use by any length Class A thru C motorized or towable style recreational vehicles including conversion vans/off grid vehicles. 50 or 30 amp electric, water, sewer and screaming fast wifi are included.  All RV's including off grid and pop-ups must set up on GRAVEL PAD only. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system. Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions. **Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.** The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent.  A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season. Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section. Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions. Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar. While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast. Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2024 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient. 2025 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding. We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours. For winter stays please send a request before booking. We have 30 or 50 amp electric and sewer only from Nov 1 ~ April 30. Water, wifi and trash removal are suspended for the winter. Snow might prevent access during some weeks. Request first!

The cabin was built for me to steal away from the house and enjoy the wildlife, quiet, stars and silence. It is too peaceful to keep to myself so come and enjoy all that Norway Maine and the surrounding area has to offer! Learn more about this land: Welcome to Lulu's. Where you can get a little crazy under the moon or you can take in the peace and serenity of the stillness in the woods. Depends on what you are looking for! No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking. Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. Please remember you will be required to remove trash and outhouse composting bag. Thanks and hope to see you at Lulu's 100 acre wood! Downtown Norway has quaint shops to browse! Norway Lake has a public beach and boat dock. Many hiking trails nearby-Noyes Mtn, Patch Mnt, Singpole and Streaked Mtn to name a few. ATV trails (also can be used for off-road biking)onsite connect with other towns for many miles and hours of riding. Plenty of lakes/rivers for kayaking. Casino, race track and breweries for night life. Oxford Hills has much to offer.

With some landscaping it became clear that beautiful campsites were forming. My father is 78 years old. The last thing he ever thought he would be doing with his retirement is jumping back on his excavator. Can't keep a good man down. Now here we are. Father and daughter. One day my children. 3 large tent sites and two camper sites. Future cabin and seasonal RV sites. A brook runs through the property but dries up after June. There is a small pond with rock stairs. Deer and turkey are frequently seen. Peace and serenity. This property does not offer complete seclusion. You will see other campers if all 3 sites are occupied. There is spacious distance. What this location offers is that it is centrally located to mountains, oceans, lakes,concert venues, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and antiquing. Traveling to NH and Massachusetts is a day trip. A few hours and your in central Maine. Cross the border into Canada. So much to explore or just relax. Stay a few nights or stay the season. 2023 is off to a great camping season. Already meeting new campers. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces from 2022. A few upgrades. There is an outside water faucet, an outlet and an outside shower...hot and a privacy fence. There is a bathroom/shed that contains a toilet. Goats are coming. Yes goats. Not until fall though. The frog pond population continues to grow. A neighboring town is finding 3 legged frogs in their ponds. Apparently caused by a parasite. Let me know if you find any. 2024 was another great season. New faces that I hope to see again. The summer weather was great for camping. A large Bell Tent and a small portable camper was purchased for those who are seeking more of a glamping experience. WELCOME BACK for 2026... 2025 had some complications unfortunately. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to invite anyone to my property. Consider yourself invited for the 2026 season. I look forward to hosting new and repeat campers. There is a free weekend offer for those who would like to camp and work to prepare for Memorial Day weekend. WELCOME ALL!!

Learn more about this land: We are set high on the piney east bank of the Kennebec River. The view is of the setting sun over the untouched hillsides on the opposite bank or the rising sun illuminating and bringing to life that same hillside while you take your first peak of morning. The river rushes by, not a house to be seen. In the distance a loon frolics and sings out it's soulful call. Bald eagles soar over head, fishing, scanning the river valley. Owls hooting in the valley, come closer in the night to see who is still up. There is an echo in the darkness, works during the day too. The stars blaze overhead in the night sky, watch "satellites" track across heavens and the Aurora Borealis, if you are lucky and still up around the camp fire. It is here in front of our camp, where The Kennebec River continues to flow but begins slowing down, stacking up depth behind the Moscow Dam and turning into Wyman Lake, 14 miles of the most scenic boating or paddling you can imagine. 200 yards north of the camp, The Appalachian Trail crosses the river, watch hikers waiting for the famous canoe ferry crossing. Or, hike a section of the trail, Pierce Pond is a healthy 2 hr hike from the camp, to a pristine pond for a remote dip or some fishing. Bring that kayak or stand up paddle board, the river is fun right here, explore for an hour, a day or days. Whitewater rafting, kayaking and canoeing are huge in West Forks, (10 minutes North up 201, watch out for deer and moose) you'll paddle The Dead, The Kennebec and the Penobscot rivers, all the major tour companies are very local and there are cool bars and restaurants. You can tube down from the Forks right to the cabin in a couple of hours. We have a big high and dry platform for your tent and the whole space all to yourselves.

We built this cabin recently with siblings and a few skilled friends to make a getaway place for the extended family. Just 2 miles off Rte. One our location is quiet and perfect for exploring the midcoast of Maine - a short drive to many favorite places! The cabin is built on property adjacent to our fruit farm which is slowly building up to full production with a kiwi orchard planted, ramps seeded, and a producing strawberry hoophouse for early ripening fruit. We move our horse and pony around to different fields during the warmer months, and keep pekin ducks (the white ones) (now all in retirement!). The farm is 78+ acres with logging roads and is located on a quiet road. Food markets and some good places to eat are within 6-7 miles. There is an outdoor shower, a nice outhouse, a campstove, oil lamps etc - so it's is very old fashion yet comfortable cabin stay! Bring your own towels and maybe some candles. Plenty of board games, and maps of our local hikes and places to explore. If you come in the fall you should know that the roof is insulated but the walls are not - so layer up, bring extra blankets, and hugging the woodstove might be necessary! You'll enjoy the screened porch in all kinds of weather.

Fieldstone Farm is a 35-acre property in Warren, Maine. Our waterfront campsite is located on a wooded parcel nestled between a rolling farm field and a seasonal cottage. Amenities included in the nightly rental are a 16-foot diameter round Regatta Bell canvas tent set up on a raised wooden platform, with a queen-sized pull-out futon, two additional single-sized futon chairs, and an indoor dining table and stools. Outside, overlooking beautiful Crawford Pond (aka Crawford Lake) is an outdoor kitchen and lounging area with patio table and chairs, umbrella, as well as kitchenware (cookware, plates, bowls, cups, utensils, coffee press, etc.), a gas grill, and firepit. Also onsite is a shed for storing food bins and trash, a solar composting toilet, and a solar sun shower stall. The campsite is just steps away from shared water access with a small beach and space to launch paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, or other similar kinds of watercraft. Friendly dogs are welcome at the campsite and on the beach; however, dogs should not be left unattended at the campsite or on the beach. The lake covers nearly 600 acres, with an 11-mile perimeter, and is 3.5 miles in length. In the middle sits 100-Acre Island, a beautiful piece of land stewarded by the Georges River Land Trust and a great place to get out and stretch your legs if you are on a long paddle or to have a picnic. In general, this is a delightful setting for swimming, floating, fishing, and paddling among the loons and other wildlife that this water body is home to. The campsite is a short drive to a number of terrific hiking trails that are part of the Georges Highland Path, a 70-mile network of trails, and the St. George River Canoe Trail. It’s also just 20 minutes to Camden Hills State Park and downtown Camden, and 18 minutes to Rockport or Rockland. It is a lovely spot just off the beaten path but close enough to access the frey. :) I welcome my guests personally and have likely had a chat before you booked. I like to know what your hopes and priorities are around your stay before I accept so I can meet both of our needs. When you arrive, I will greet you and share a little history/tour of the place. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system. Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions. **Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.** The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent.  A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season. Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section. Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions. Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar. While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast. Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2024 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient. 2025 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding. We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours. For winter stays please send a request before booking. We have 30 or 50 amp electric and sewer only from Nov 1 ~ April 30. Water, wifi and trash removal are suspended for the winter. Snow might prevent access during some weeks. Request first!

No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking. Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. Please remember you will be required to remove trash and outhouse composting bag. Thanks and hope to see you at Lulu's 100 acre wood! Downtown Norway has quaint shops to browse! Norway Lake has a public beach and boat dock. Many hiking trails nearby-Noyes Mtn, Patch Mnt, Singpole and Streaked Mtn to name a few. The last thing he ever thought he would be doing with his retirement is jumping back on his excavator. Can't keep a good man down. Now here we are. Father and daughter. One day my children. 3 large tent sites and two camper sites. Future cabin and seasonal RV sites. A brook runs through the property but dries up after June. There is a small pond with rock stairs. Deer and turkey are frequently seen. Peace and serenity. This property does not offer complete seclusion. You will see other campers if all 3 sites are occupied. There is spacious distance. What this location offers is that it is centrally located to mountains, oceans, lakes,concert venues, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and antiquing. Traveling to NH and Massachusetts is a day trip. A few hours and your in central Maine. Cross the border into Canada. So much to explore or just relax. Stay a few nights or stay the season. 2023 is off to a great camping season. Already meeting new campers. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces from 2022. A few upgrades. There is an outside water faucet, an outlet and an outside shower...hot and a privacy fence. There is a bathroom/shed that contains a toilet. Goats are coming. Yes goats. Not until fall though. The frog pond population continues to grow. A neighboring town is finding 3 legged frogs in their ponds. Apparently caused by a parasite. Let me know if you find any. 2024 was another great season. New faces that I hope to see again. The summer weather was great for camping. A large Bell Tent and a small portable camper was purchased for those who are seeking more of a glamping experience. WELCOME BACK for 2026... 2025 had some complications unfortunately. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to invite anyone to my property. Consider yourself invited for the 2026 season. Learn more about this land: We are set high on the piney east bank of the Kennebec River. The view is of the setting sun over the untouched hillsides on the opposite bank or the rising sun illuminating and bringing to life that same hillside while you take your first peak of morning. The river rushes by, not a house to be seen. In the distance a loon frolics and sings out it's soulful call. Bald eagles soar over head, fishing, scanning the river valley. Owls hooting in the valley, come closer in the night to see who is still up. There is an echo in the darkness, works during the day too. The stars blaze overhead in the night sky, watch "satellites" track across heavens and the Aurora Borealis, if you are lucky and still up around the camp fire. It is here in front of our camp, where The Kennebec River continues to flow but begins slowing down, stacking up depth behind the Moscow Dam and turning into Wyman Lake, 14 miles of the most scenic boating or paddling you can imagine. 200 yards north of the camp, The Appalachian Trail crosses the river, watch hikers waiting for the famous canoe ferry crossing. Or, hike a section of the trail, Pierce Pond is a healthy 2 hr hike from the camp, to a pristine pond for a remote dip or some fishing. Bring that kayak or stand up paddle board, the river is fun right here, explore for an hour, a day or days. Whitewater rafting, kayaking and canoeing are huge in West Forks, (10 minutes North up 201, watch out for deer and moose) you'll paddle The Dead, The Kennebec and the Penobscot rivers, all the major tour companies are very local and there are cool bars and restaurants. You can tube down from the Forks right to the cabin in a couple of hours. We have a big high and dry platform for your tent and the whole space all to yourselves.

The cabin is built on property adjacent to our fruit farm which is slowly building up to full production with a kiwi orchard planted, ramps seeded, and a producing strawberry hoophouse for early ripening fruit. We move our horse and pony around to different fields during the warmer months, and keep pekin ducks (the white ones) (now all in retirement!). The farm is 78+ acres with logging roads and is located on a quiet road. Food markets and some good places to eat are within 6-7 miles. There is an outdoor shower, a nice outhouse, a campstove, oil lamps etc - so it's is very old fashion yet comfortable cabin stay! Bring your own towels and maybe some candles. Plenty of board games, and maps of our local hikes and places to explore. If you come in the fall you should know that the roof is insulated but the walls are not - so layer up, bring extra blankets, and hugging the woodstove might be necessary! You'll enjoy the screened porch in all kinds of weather.

No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking. Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Family owned property obtained through the barter system. You shingle my barn and I'll give you that property. My Pappy's land. 11 acres. Recently cleared for its timber. With some landscaping it became clear that beautiful campsites were forming. My father is 78 years old. The last thing he ever thought he would be doing with his retirement is jumping back on his excavator. Can't keep a good man down. Now here we are. Father and daughter. One day my children. 3 large tent sites and two camper sites. Future cabin and seasonal RV sites. A brook runs through the property but dries up after June. There is a small pond with rock stairs. Deer and turkey are frequently seen. Peace and serenity. This property does not offer complete seclusion. You will see other campers if all 3 sites are occupied. There is spacious distance. What this location offers is that it is centrally located to mountains, oceans, lakes,concert venues, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and antiquing. Traveling to NH and Massachusetts is a day trip. A few hours and your in central Maine. Cross the border into Canada. So much to explore or just relax. Stay a few nights or stay the season. 2023 is off to a great camping season. Already meeting new campers. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces from 2022. A few upgrades. There is an outside water faucet, an outlet and an outside shower...hot and a privacy fence. There is a bathroom/shed that contains a toilet. Goats are coming. Yes goats. Not until fall though. The frog pond population continues to grow. A neighboring town is finding 3 legged frogs in their ponds. Apparently caused by a parasite. Let me know if you find any. 2024 was another great season. New faces that I hope to see again. The summer weather was great for camping. A large Bell Tent and a small portable camper was purchased for those who are seeking more of a glamping experience. WELCOME BACK for 2026... 2025 had some complications unfortunately. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to invite anyone to my property. Consider yourself invited for the 2026 season. Learn more about this land: We are set high on the piney east bank of the Kennebec River. The view is of the setting sun over the untouched hillsides on the opposite bank or the rising sun illuminating and bringing to life that same hillside while you take your first peak of morning. The river rushes by, not a house to be seen. In the distance a loon frolics and sings out it's soulful call. Bald eagles soar over head, fishing, scanning the river valley. Owls hooting in the valley, come closer in the night to see who is still up. There is an echo in the darkness, works during the day too. The stars blaze overhead in the night sky, watch "satellites" track across heavens and the Aurora Borealis, if you are lucky and still up around the camp fire. It is here in front of our camp, where The Kennebec River continues to flow but begins slowing down, stacking up depth behind the Moscow Dam and turning into Wyman Lake, 14 miles of the most scenic boating or paddling you can imagine. 200 yards north of the camp, The Appalachian Trail crosses the river, watch hikers waiting for the famous canoe ferry crossing. Or, hike a section of the trail, Pierce Pond is a healthy 2 hr hike from the camp, to a pristine pond for a remote dip or some fishing. Bring that kayak or stand up paddle board, the river is fun right here, explore for an hour, a day or days. Whitewater rafting, kayaking and canoeing are huge in West Forks, (10 minutes North up 201, watch out for deer and moose) you'll paddle The Dead, The Kennebec and the Penobscot rivers, all the major tour companies are very local and there are cool bars and restaurants. You can tube down from the Forks right to the cabin in a couple of hours. We have a big high and dry platform for your tent and the whole space all to yourselves.

The site was lovely and as expected - riverside with a picnic table and a nice wide flat surface for setting up our 2-person tent. As described, it is a fairly steep (but wide) path to get down to the site, though we managed even after dark with head lamps on and a slow pace. There is a shared fire pit for all three sites at one of the sites. The privy was clean, well maintained, and centrally located. The host, Abi, was responsive and provided detailed information about how to get to the site, the expectations, and amenities.

Learn more about this land:This is 44 acres of forest, fields a trout pond and trails throughout the property. It is camping not for the faint of heart. No accommodations, just raw nature. You can take what the land offers but no cutting trees. There are blackberries and raspberries galore wild and other things growing I probably don’t know about. This is truly a nature lovers dream. Acadia is 45 min. Kathdin and the Maine national monument is 1 hour. Freeport is 1 hour and 45 min. Bangor of course is 25 minutes and offers lots of dining and culture.

I moved up here 5 years ago for space + snow + to grow my dog sled team - me n the dogs are happy to share our space! The 10 acre field is open, partially mowed & offers apples in the fall. The view of the mountain is really nice. Enjoy the fire pit or walk through the 60 acres of woods.  Please note, my house is located on the road, in the front corner of the field.  It is possible to camp in the field a spot such that you do not have to see my house.  You can also camp just behind the field in maple trees (there's a clear path).  The other option is to walk into the back back woods and fashion yourself a place to camp if you are feeling a bit more rugged / adventurous - there are paths but they are not newly installed / groomed (originally created for logging activities a long time ago so - rugged).  There's a brook at the far side of my property which goes all along the back edge. Nearby Norway Lake is great for swimming, boating, kayaking, etc (public boat launch is an easy drive). This is a great place for road running as well (or road biking if you can handle the hills).  Note that the field is a field-there's no road laid in.  I can drive into fine in my Sienna but if you have a really low car you might have to walk it. Fires in fire pit only for safety reasons This is rustic camping!  There's no electricity or running water.  I can provide a 5 gal jug of spring water for drinking / fire dousing (please let me know in advance if you will need this so I can go to the spring).  If you are not self contained in terms of bathroom, you are welcome to use my guest bath inside (just have to text me) You should have full cell signal in the middle of the field and in the high points in the back woods (but definitely it drops out in the lower points).  There is a barn that is occasionally available for eating / camping; there is electricity & wifi in there as well as lights and tables.  There's an extra charge for this -please inquire about availability.   Spot is dog friendly - let me know if you'd like me to leave some snow fencing out for you to fashion a bit of an enclosed area. I have some agility equipment & all kinds of mushing equipment if your pup might be interested.  Happy to do mini demos / lessons for a small extra fee.  I have a spare

This is a cozy place with led lights & solar lights, candles, gas cook range, gas refrigerator, wood stove, a dug well with hand-pump in the kitchen (pump can not be used when the temperature is below freezing) and a log cabin outhouse. King bed in bedroom; twin bunk beds and queen pull-out futon couch in great room Fully outfitted with dishes, utensils, pots,/pans, linens/blankets/pillows, books, games, oil lanterns, camp/bag shower and more. Firewood is included in the rental price. Propane, paper towels, toilet paper and dish soap are also provided. All Wheel Drive or 4WD is needed to access the cabin in winter and mud season. WINTER CONDITIONS (when ground is frozen): -4-wheel drive or All Wheel Drive needed. -There is NO running water from the well pump when the ground is frozen. The sink can be used with a bucket underneath. Bring extra water for washing. -Really big storms can cause reservations to be rescheduled -Extreme Cold Weather: When temperatures fall to 15 degrees or below, use the propane heater in the bunk room with the woodstove in the great room. Feed the wood stove every couple of hours. Snowmobilers! You may have to unload your machines at the bottom of the hill to get your trucks up the hill with trailers hitched or leave trailers at the bottom of the hill in a plowed out parking area, ride the snowmobiles up separately. -Shooting/Target practice is NO longer allowed due to lack of respect for safety by several sets of guests. Learn more about this land: You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals. Walking past the pond and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below. The cabin is furnished with a full sized futon, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights. Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin. A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor. The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy. A small gas grill and cooler can be provided, Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

Fishing for lake trout, salmon, and bass with water access right from a privately owned boat launch is a must while visiting our campground. You will never want to leave!Learn more about this land:We offer both tent sites and RV sites to renters. we are in a grassy field with some trees for shade. The campground runs along the Moose River and is right at the mouth of the river where Big Wood Pond flows into it. We have very good fishing and boating with a boat launch big enough to accommodate a pontoon boat right at the campground. There's also an extensive trail system for recreational vehicles of all types including but not limited to trucks, jeeps, ATV, UTV, snowmobiles ect. There's also a seaplane business that operates out of the boat landing on the campground. They offer scenic plane rides though the mountains and remote fishing trips on ponds that are normally inaccessible the normal foot traffic. Tickets can be purchased upon request.
