A quiet secluded camping area on a 40+ acre property across from Patten Bay in Surry, ME. Acadia and Bar Harbor within 30 minute drive, downtown Ellsworth 10 minute drive and Bangor 40 minutes.
We are currently working on our land and the road out to the camp site is a little rough with stumps, ruts, and roots. A vehicle with higher ground clearance and possibly 4wd is recommended. Convenience store and deli located right next door for basic needs and a local icecream shop, Pugnuts, within walking distance as well.
Dry camping only at this time. May change in the future or for longer stays, but we’re new hosts and want to keep this simple right now :) we have a picnic table located at the camp site and are working on fire ring. We will have trash bin out there and be able to take a bag of trash after your stay.
Please follow the 7 leave no trace principles. This is home to our family and we take pride in our property.

When this area was originally settled, the farm was located on the "highway" from Camden to seasonal pastures in Lincolnville. The trails leading to the park still go by the old foundations that dotted the old Government Road from Camden. The farm has 46 acres of flowing pasture, hardwood forest and flower and vegetable gardens. At the heart of the property is a large farm pond that has been used to water livestock for generations. 3 miles from downtown Union (featuring 3 Convenience stores, 1 Grocery store, 2 Banks with ATMs, 2 Restaurants, Pizza, Gas and a Laundromat) and only 12 miles to Camden and Rockland. Good Cellular signal.
Good access road for your RV. The amazing views include Owl's Head lighthouse and Matinicus island in the very far distance, sunrise over Ragged Mountain and the Camden hills. To the north the Dixmont, and Bangor areas are visible. Watch the sunset to the west over Sennebec pond and Appleton ridge. To the southwest Mt. Washington may be just visible on a clear day. 75 acres of open fields and woodlands to explore at your leisure.
Among the hidden gems you might find are the original homestead foundation, a vernal brook, a distant field that is totally secluded and an oak tree with a heart! Deer, wild Turkeys, Hawks, Owls and Bald Eagles are frequent visitors. You may even stumble upon wild raspberries and blackberries, if they're in season.
The small town of Union also hosts the Maine Wild Blueberry Festival. The Lobster Festival is nearby in Rockland every August.
No other campers are visible from your site - so you get breathtaking beauty all for yourself - and those with you!
Note: Part of the land is a working Wild Blueberry farm and as such, on rare occasions, the quiet is interrupted to care for the crop. Should that take place we will credit you with a free day's stay.
Note: No Trespassing signs are posted for the farm operation - these Do Not apply to Hipcampers! Please drive past them through the open gate to the site.

It is required to call for availability and to answer our confirmation questions. Freezing conditions can exist from October until May No water access until freeze is over.. Daylight disappears early during the Winter gps is sketchy.
If you have adequate gear for the conditions we allow all season camping. Submitting a request does not finalize or guarantee a reservation, property approval is required. . Read all of the info, and when you submit your request please include/verify the following info: Is everyone in your group at least 21?/No kids or pets with you.? What sort or camping unit.? At check out look at the “extras” section to include any pre purchases or rentals.
The sounds of the night are magical here. The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. With each listing be sure to READ all the information and the rules. If you are interested in a spontaneous camping adventure, if your luggage got lost or if you just don’t want to deal with transporting camping gear we have a variety of rental equipment. Last minute reservation requests may not work via the reservation site but we may very likely have a space. Any questions, call two zero seven six six seven three two four four, calling the property is required. It is important that you also check back to your app to see if they ( hipcamp) have sent you communication pertinent to your reservation.

Get your "groove" on or hang loose here on a precious little island with a big bridge just off route one in the heart of Midcoast. Hundreds of guests report the perfect balance of upbeat fun and chill time and call our place and hospitality "magic", "amazing" and "holy guacamole!" It is a lovely spot just off the beaten path but close enough to access the frey. :)
I welcome my guests personally and have likely had a chat before you booked. I like to know what your hopes and priorities are around your stay before I accept so I can meet both of our needs. When you arrive, I will greet you and share a little history/tour of the place. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show.
All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go.
There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours!
Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens.
This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. Reach out soon and let's chat about your vacation and visit here. I look forward to hearing from you.

Scars in the polished granite streambed tell the story of saw mills from the 19th century. Not far from the foundation of one of the more established farmsteads of the era, this campsite is tucked away from the road down by the rushing Bull Branch of the Sunday River. Whether you bake on the rocks after dipping, or toss a fly in a quiet pool, the river will soothe your soul.
Explore endless mountains streams, trails to the Appalachian Trail, and remote dirt roads in the heart of the Mahoosucs from your secluded walk-in low impact tent site with privy. Deep swimming holes and trout fishing beckon.
There are five sites in total. Hillside, Riverside and Fireside each have a picnic table, they all share a fire pit and a privy and are on the side of the road closest to the river. Main Eastside and the North site also share a fire pit and privy, Main Eastside has a picnic table, these two sites are across the street from the river which is just a short walk away.

Welcome to Lulu's. Where you can get a little crazy under the moon or you can take in the peace and serenity of the stillness in the woods. Depends on what you are looking for! No neighbors to infringe on your ideal get away. The large cabin has a welcoming front porch to enjoy the amazing sunrises over Streaked Mtn. 100 acres of privacy to hike, watch wildlife and just relax. Cabin has outside facilities. Off the grid-no electric or running water. Cell service is adequate. 1 gallon of fresh well water provided for drinking and 10 gallons for washing/cooking.
Bring your own linens for a queen size bed, twin bunk beds and a full pull out couch. 2 pillows are supplied with a pillow protective cover and pillow case which are washed after each guest. Pots, pans and utensils, are onsite which are washed between campers; trash bags, compost bags, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a 2 burner propane stove(green canisters needed) and an older propane table top grill are provided. Camp fire grill on site if you prefer cooking over open flame. There are some battery operated light switches and solar lights in the camp and outhouse. Downtown Norway has quaint shops to browse! Norway Lake has a public beach and boat dock. Many hiking trails nearby-Noyes Mtn, Patch Mnt, Singpole and Streaked Mtn to name a few. ATV trails (also can be used for off-road biking)onsite connect with other towns for many miles and hours of riding. Plenty of lakes/rivers for kayaking. Casino, race track and breweries for night life. Oxford Hills has much to offer.

You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals.
Walking past the house and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below.
The tiny cabin is furnished with a full sized bed, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights.
Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin.
A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor.
The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sunsets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals though we will provide ample space to respect your privacy.
A small gas grill and cooler can be provided.
Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

All RV's including off grid and pop-ups must set up on GRAVEL PAD only. This is to prevent damage to the private septic system.
Your camper RV, off grid van or pop up MUST have an on board toilet, composting or otherwise, no exceptions.

A sister cabin shares the half acre site and is separated by a 16 foot long 9 foot high fence. This cabin is booked up 95 percent for the season.
Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island section of Acadia and the Schoodic Peninsula section.
Well behaved dogs/pets are allowed on the site for $7 per pet per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add a pet fee which is listed as an extra during the booking process. All pets on site must be leashed at all times, no exceptions.
Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first. We continue to provide free, locally grown, organic firewood in order to combat inflation and help you stretch your vacation dollar.
While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast.
Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. State route 204 funnels park visitors to Acadia and the MDI area. In 2025 nearly 4 million people visited the Acadia area. Slow down, plan ahead and be patient.
2026 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mountain are now required due to overcrowding.
We have one security camera located on the main fence. This is for your protection as well as ours.
For winter stays please send a request before booking. We have 30 or 50 amp
electric and sewer only from Nov 1 ~ April 30. Water, wifi and trash removal are suspended for the winter.
Snow might prevent access during some weeks. Request first!

Lulu’s 100 Acre Woods is a lovely private retreat spot. Abundant peace and quiet with a beautiful view. Total privacy, no one in sight. My dog thrived being able to run free! There is even a trail behind the cabin leading up to a beautiful vista—a very nice sunrise spot. The road up to the cabin is an adventure; I had no problems in a Subaru Forester, just make sure your vehicle is high enough off the ground and can handle “off roading”. Once you get up to the cabin, you may well not want to leave. Linda has provided everything you might need, and was very welcoming. Directions are clear and she has maps of the property/nearby trails that are easy to follow. One of the best parts is the fresh mountain spring down the road. 💧🩵 As with all camping, prepare for insects. It’s a beautiful area to explore, and just as beautiful a spot to stay in place, unplug, and enjoy the peace. Thank you Linda for having us, and for sharing this amazing spot! Would definitely come again, I can only imagine the beauty of autumn! 🍂 🧡

Stunning campsite- the driveway ride alone along the ridge was super cool and surprisingly accessible. We got there just before dusk and wish we could have stayed longer! So cool to have the wild blueberries on the hillside! Great level site for our rooftop tent setup.

If you don’t enjoy amazing views, a porch that you won’t want to leave, relaxing atmosphere, cozy cabin, inviting firepit, and a perfect getaway that you want to be adopted into the family so you don’t have to leave, then this is not the place for you. The trail up to the overlook is well marked. The cabin is awesome, the property is relaxing, and watching the weather changes over the mountains is amazing.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! I loved how wide open the space was & the sunrises/sunsets/stars were just fantastic. If you’re looking for some peace & beauty this is 100% the place! Loved the fire pit, picnic table, & porta potty for the convenience as well :)

Really enjoyed our visit to Rod’s blueberry field high atop a hill in Union. It was easy to find following his included directions. We camp in a sprinter van which was great cause it was very windy the night we visited. The view is amazing for sure! Well recommended it to others, and if we’re back in the area we’ll certainly visit again.

Really love this campsite! The river is magic. No animals getting into our stuff and the bugs weren’t as intense as I would’ve expected in June. Very clean. We stayed at the fireside site and it was the perfect size for our big family. There was one thing I would’ve liked to be more prepared for ahead of time was the hill down to the campsite. If you are trekking a lot of stuff for a whole family the hill is really hard with the wheel barrows provided. I would’ve like to know how steep it was when trying to pack maybe I would’ve packed a bit differently with lighter totes and a lighter cooler. Definitely keep in mind when booking that you will need to carry everything down a pretty steep long hill and back up it. But with kids the hill was nice in the fact it kept Them contained from the road! We will definitely be back we really loved it! A perfect place to go with a few families or big group to take all the sites. So much fun to be had!
