We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property They used it as a place for their family to gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The field has several fire pits and soft grassy spaces for pitching tents. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

When you arrive at the big posts and posted signs keep driving through because you are almost there. Originally settled in the early 1800's with a few house's, barn's and an old one room schoolhouse. A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles.
We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

We so love it here that we wanted to share it with others. Not much for rules, just ask for you to leave it better than you found it. Our piece of land has neighbors on both sides: one side protected by trees and cannot see them, the other side has a fence and both neighbors are super friendly.
Set up right next to the river and enjoy the tranquil sounds of the waterfalls just above. This is also where 3 Pools is located, a place to soak and play, even pan for gold if you'd like! We so love it here that we wanted to share it with others. Not much for rules, just ask for you to leave it better than you found it. Our piece of land has neighbors on both sides: one side protected by trees and cannot see them, the other side has a fence and both neighbors are super friendly.
Set up right next to the river and enjoy the tranquil sounds of the waterfalls just above. This is also where 3 Pools is located, a place to soak and play, even pan for gold if you'd like! Spacious Skies Balsam Woods is a hidden paradise of a campground located right in the heart of Maine, just a half hour south of Moosehead Lake, the largest lake in Maine, and 60 miles as the crow flies from the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, Mt. Katahdin, in Baxter State Park.

We invite you to come stay at our location in the Western Maine mountains. We are located off of the Long Falls Dam Rd in Carrying Place Township, in the heart of Maine's wilderness. Our property offers beautiful mountain views; many nearby hiking trails; nearby swimming, boating, fishing and kayaking at Flagstaff Lake; along with numerous back roads to explore and look for wildlife. Located only six (6) miles north of the Sugarloaf access road we have (10) units. We have four (8) studio kitchenettes with various bed configurations, and two (2) hotel style rooms that have a coffee pot, microwave and fridge. I had a great time staying at howling goat farm, I personally like the farm atmosphere and all the sounds that go with it!
The camping spot was clean and level and has the standard fire ring and I believe an 8 foot long picnic table.
I wouldn’t hesitate to return and stay a while in the future.

My fiance and I loved our stay and were sad to leave. Very peaceful and relaxing, exactly what we needed. Took the canoe out a couple of times. Saw tons of eagles, a nest, and a deer crossing the river. The view was beautiful and the stars were so bright! Very easy to find and in a great location. Awesome spot! Cheri was an excellent host and the spot is ~100ft from a creek. Pro tip: if you want to get to the main river faster, walk to the back of the meadow and down the embankment along the water. Much easier if the water is low.

We loved camping with our little Tab camper at Kyle's slice of heaven! Tons of room, lots to explore - simply fan-freakin-tastic! My only suggestion would be to extend check-out time by an hour or two. Packing up and leaving by 10 really leaves very little chance to enjoy this special spot on the last day. Leaving was painful...and only made better by booking another weekend as soon as I got home! Selfish me doesn't want to leave this review, so I have less competition for booking. Thank you, Kyle, for sharing this beautiful spot with us nature lovers! 😊

A rendezvous with the cosmos was the theme this year. We ran, dashed, sacrificed and stressed to make eyes for Cygnus across celestial clouds ISS flyovers and planets penetrating the atmosphere. Ursas major and minor foraged amongst the fireflies while we all shifted from Pisces to Aquarius over and over again. The fowl are a feature, the ruminations left to the cloven and the swine a smile every time. A fair time was not had in any sense this time. Our budget denied us Common Ground, but our accommodations were AAA. After a day in Stephen King country, I’ll leave the speculation of what beast was snorting in the field the following morning to you.

my husband and i camped at the christmas tree farm for 2 nights while going to the common ground fair. it was convenient to be so close, and we had a lot of privacy and space. we enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinner on our little stove top at the picnic table on top of this hill with a beautiful view of the fields and mountains. the sunrises and sunsets were absolutely divine and we slept under a bright blanket of stars! jesse was incredibly accommodating and helpful, while also giving us space to relax and enjoy our stay. our only challenge was finding a flat place to camp, but by the second night we found a spot that suited us well. i'd recommend arriving before nightfall to pick out an ideal flat camping spot if you're tent camping. cheers!
