Josh was amazing! We were late getting there and Josh came out in the pouring rain to let us know how and where to go on his wonderful property! We'll be back!

2 nights at The LAAAAND (just you & 50 acres)

I've stayed at around a dozen hipcamps around the country, and I have to say, this is one of my favorites. It is completely private and there is much to explore right there on the property. Easy communication with the host, available water, and a few minutes drive from some cool hikes in the red river gorge. I'll definitely be staying here again if I'm in the area.

Weekend Trip to Shasta Valley

We loved bringing our teardrop trailer to this beautiful private property! We are new to the area and this was the perfect spot for our family. We felt so safe and comfortable and had everything we needed! Our camper did wonderful by the pond! We did hiking every day at red River Gorge and it was so nice coming back to this nice private spot (spot by the pond). We did this trip in March so even though the nights were chilly we did just fine and everyone was sad to leave! Thank you guys for such a great experience and for sharing your property with us!

Weekend Trip to Handyland

We had such a relaxing stay at Handyland. The cabin was so cozy and the stars were absolutely stunning at night. We walked the trails and they are beautiful. Don’t miss them. Josh made sure we had everything we needed. Our dog was able to get some exercise and explore. We all left happy campers and would definitely stay again.

we stayed at the top shelf and it was our first time coming to this site and it’s amazing! a ton of space for tents and activities. the view is amazing, se saw a fon of stars at night, and its pretty secluded (besides the bar side lol). we will definitely be coming back and booking the bar side!

We had an incredible stay at the Old Mansion Farm in Versailles, Kentucky! Michelle and Curt were absolutely wonderful hosts—welcoming, accommodating, and always ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The property itself is beautiful, offering a peaceful and unique getaway in a stunning location. From the charming historic atmosphere to the thoughtful touches throughout our visit, every aspect exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to stay with them again and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a memorable Hipcamp experience!

2 nights at Bar on the Mountain

Nice level site and really well maintained with gravel allowing any rain to drain well. Beautiful ridge top location that was quiet at night. The stars were lovely. The site was large and allowed us ample room to set up our teardrop trailer and to have space for our camp chairs, etc. The porta potty is close enough to be convenient as well. The directions to get to the site were great. They made it easy to find where we were going even after exiting onto a steep mountain gravel road.

This campsite was amazing, and Sam is a wonderful host. Even in the early spring this place is an oasis. Our campsite was tucked in the trees, and the outdoor kitchen was the cutest. It was perfect campsite for watching the eclipse and star gazing. 1000% would recommend stoping here if you can.

We loved our experience here! Josh was very communicative and helpful any time I had questions. The cabin was clean and well maintained. We stayed on a very cold night and enjoyed using the wood burning stove for heat. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed.

Really nice site with a lot of space. Hosts were very friendly and made sure there was enough dry firewood since they had just received a lot of rain.

We loved staying at Haymark, it was such a gorgeous property, private, and having the roof was fabulous since the weather was less than perfect. Great communication from Melinda. We were able to really relax here. My 2 dogs loved it.

We enjoyed our stay at this site. There is plenty of room for camping and the views are outstanding. Great for star gazing and sunrises. It's about 30 minutes from many hiking trails and the little town of Slade.

We're a family that loves to camp; and while we love a stop at a KOA or community campground, we sometimes crave quiet time in nature without the noise and distraction of other campers. That's what makes The LAAAAND so special. The property is comprised of 50 pristine acres, with a mix of fields and woods, that bump up against another 250 acres owned by our family friends. The southern perimeter of the property is all cliff line, so you feel truly remote. The possibilities of sound pollution are limited to a far-off dog barking, horses being ridden down a nearby trail, or the possible hum of a distant lumber yard. Other than that, you'll mostly hear the wind rustling trees, deer and critters making their way through the woods, and possibly a waterfall at certain times of the year. Oh, and you will absolutely hear whipoorwhills, most likely at a time you'd rather not (we've decided they're charming). Over the nearly 2 decades we've owned this property we have spent countless weekends enjoying the simplest of pleasures; watching butterflies dance in the tree canopy, having dance parties at sunset on the deck, forging new trails and hiking into the unkown, sitting in the truck bed late at night gazing at a star-covered sky counting shooting stars. If you are looking for a space and place to reset and reconnect, The LAAAAND is waiting for you. Here are a few of our featured campsites: REDBUD MEADOW: Our first campsite used by hundreds of people over the years. A secluded lawn in the midst of redbud trees, easy to drive to and from with a pile of firewood and a metal fire ring. The premier site on our property. THE BAPTISMAL POND: As history goes the pond in front of this site was used in the 1800's for baptisms for the church visible from everywhere on the farm, thus our name. This is a tent site, easy to drive into and out of, fires permitted in season. THISTLEDOWN GATHERING PLACE: This is a very large meadow, surrounded by trees with the capacity for large groups, many tents and gatherings of lots of people. Very level, easy in and out with vehicles. Fires permitted in season. WHITETAIL SANCTUARY: Every night for decades a herd of whitetail deer graze in this pastoral setting. Drive in and out, fires in season. Suitable for a family sized tent. THE PENNINSULA: This camping spot is WALK IN ONLY. You can drive to the trailhead on grass and walk the path to the campsite (about 200 yards). One of two remote sites. It sits in the woods, on the bank of a wet weather creek which flows around two sides of the campsite. Fires permitted in season. TOTEM TREES: This site is WALK IN ONLY. A short hike down the hill from the grass parking area and you have a small spot for a tent, in the woods, surrounded by trees and a lot of standing dead ash which appear as if you are in the presence of totem poles. NO OPEN FIRES. MUST USE BACKPACKER STOVE AND FLAMELESS LIGHTING. SPOTTED FAWN HIDEAWAY: This totally secluded walk in campsite is suitable for a small tent only AND PERFECT FOR HAMMOCK CAMPING. NO FIRES as the site benefits from the shade and protection of overhanging cedar trees and the ground is covered in cedar needles. NO OPEN FIRES. MUST USE BACKPACKER STOVE AND FLAMELESS LIGHTING.
