It is a family farm set in the beautiful hills of eastern Kentucky.
We have 600 acres of mountains that have amazing views, hiking trails, wildlife and tranquil creeks.

Roaring Shoals is a family farm. This campsite is a double capacity with full hookup, located in a rural community halfway between Jackson and Salyersville on Highway 30 East. The site is close to the road; however there is much woodland to explore located on the property. We have small waterfall and a natural rock formation that can be hiked to. There is a shoal a very short walk from the campsite that is a wonderful place to enjoy the creek! There is great cellular service if your device uses Verizon towers, as there is a tower on the property. This is the perfect place to come and relax if you are visiting the area. It is approximately 12 miles from a small town with local restaurants and convenience stores. Our farm raised , dry aged black angus beef can be purchased if available; please check availability by calling a few days prior to your stay. You may also purchase firewood that was harvested from our property which is a certified tree farm. Our cattle are raised on another of our properties located a few miles up the road. We would be happy to schedule a time to take you there to see where they are born and raised.

Start mornings off with coffee and the smell of bacon sizzling on the outdoor griddle and end the days with a cold one from the kegerator. Kim and Scott's camp is very nice and located close to Red River Gorge. They both extrmely nice and made every effort to make us feel at home. The camp has a small number of sites so it allows more privacy than many othe Hipcamps that I have stayed at. I would definitely return again if I am back in the Gorge.

Amy and Erik were fantastic hosts alway helpful but never intrusive. The property is clean and well taken care of .
The campsite is flat and easy to get into. Although it's close to the road it wasn't a problem.
We would return next time we're in the area.

Camping here was easily one of the best experiences I’ve had out in the woods. The view of the sunrise from the site is absolutely stunning. We rented both the bar and the top shelf so we’d have more privacy and it was the perfect amount of space for my group to spread out and have plenty of space. Will absolutely be back again. Perfect site for a group.

The Kilns was amazing! Kimberly is so kind and wonderful, and the property is fantastic. Very very good choice for a camp site close to the best crags Red River Gorge has to offer (20 min. drive). Helpful amenities included: a free sticker (heck ya!), fire pit, complementary firewood, garbage can, picnic table (all at each site), porta potties, water tap. Camp sites were solid, and could find level ground no problem. The pond is very cute, and the stars were beautiful. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the spring peepers (early April)! 10/10 recommend.
