Roaring Shoals Farm is a Black Angus cattle and hay farm. It is a family farm set in the beautiful hills of eastern Kentucky. We have 600 acres of mountains that have amazing views, hiking trails, wildlife and tranquil creeks. Our family would love to welcome you to our farm! Learn more about this land: Roaring Shoals is a family farm.  This campsite  is a double capacity with full hookup, located in a rural community halfway between Jackson and Salyersville on Highway 30 East. The site is close to the road; however there is much woodland to explore located on the property. We have small waterfall and a natural rock formation that can be hiked to.  There is a shoal a very short walk from the campsite that is a wonderful place to enjoy the creek! There is great cellular service if your device uses Verizon towers, as there is a tower on the property.  This is the perfect place to come and relax if you are visiting the area.  It is approximately 12 miles from a small town with local restaurants and convenience stores.   Our farm raised , dry aged black angus beef can be purchased if available; please check availability by calling a few days prior to your stay.  You may also purchase firewood that was harvested from our property which is a certified tree farm.  Our cattle are raised on another of our properties located a few miles up the road.  We would be happy to schedule a time to take you there to see where they are born and raised.Roaring Shoals is a family farm.  This campsite  is a double capacity with full hookup, located in a rural community halfway between Jackson and Salyersville on Highway 30 East. Roaring Success
Roaring Shoals Campsite is peaceful and serene. Access to the creek and trails to wander on, with plenty of space to spread out. The site is next to the road, but traffic was light and respectful. Our personal Starlink had few obstructions, and the site has power, water, and sewer. Erik and Amy are fabulous hosts who gave us privacy but were responsive to all inquiries. We would definitely stay again.

Roaring Shoals Farm for the WIN!
GREAT spot for a long weekend! Although right by the road the site is a peaceful and safe place to camp. I usually don't have full hookups but it was great for a bit of pampering. I LOVED the fact that I could step out of my trailer to explore nature from the walk to the waterfall that was delightful even during the dry time of year, the 4.2 mile roundtrip hike up the mountain to pick blackberries and finally my FAVORITE, the rock formations. I could barely see the formations through the trees but it was a goal of mine while there so my dog and I bushwhacked straight up the hill to see these spectacular sights. Needless to say I got to wear my dog out which is always a treat! I took a day to explore Natural Bridge State Park which was a 45 ish min drive and then another day I drove an hour and 40 min to Lexington to visit a couple breweries and have some of the most amazing bbq at Blue Door. Upon leaving I had to pick up some ground beef and a chuck roast from the farm. Can't beat meat from local farms! Amy and Erik were amazing hosts and I would definitely stay again if ever in the area. Wildlife sightings on the property: Deer, Coyote, Turkey, Blue Heron. A bit of advice would be to wear long pants while hiking and maybe have some tick repellent on hand. Of course I didn't heed my own advice until the last day after picking several ticks off myself.

Roaring Shoals Farm
We loved our camping experience!!! Amy & Erik were wonderful hosts. The site was easy to get into and had a full hookup. Our kids loved hiking to the waterfall and playing in the creek. The highlight was visiting the farm and meeting the cows! Could not say any better things, highly recommend!!!

Wonderful Stay
We absolutely loved our stay! Not far from Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge. Amy was great and we bought steaks from them to grill one night and they were AMAZING!! They were so good we had to buy some to take home. It was in the 90’s one day so we put our chairs in the creek and let the dogs play. We would definitely stay again.

Peaceful Mountain Hideaway
One of my favorite spots so far. What a hidden gem! There is only a one site so you have the place to yourself. 800 acres…I stayed almost a week and didn’t get to explore nearly what I wanted too! Amy and her husband are such sweethearts; I spent Christmas here and Amy brought me cookies🥹 (which were delicious!) I often travel alone and I felt very safe; they have cameras and lighting. The site is off of what looks like a main road but I haven’t seen many cars and still felt totally private. I was able to have my dog out unleashed which was great! She loved roaming the property. Which, is a cattle farm so while your here be sure to buy some beef! I’m going to take a bunch home! Amy sells maple syrup as well😊 Thank you guys for an awesome stay; Zulu and I are not ready to leave! We will definitely be back❤️
