30 years ago this was a pay lake it has been shut down for years. I got it a few years ago for a family getaway. So there is some really nice fish in the lakes. We have a outside kitchen with a gas grill, gas griddle and sink.we also have a sink for your use. There is also a toilet with a flushing toilet.

Create your own family tradition in this campsite that is ready for two campers on a total of 160ft gravel space. There is both 30 and 50 AMP electric, however no water or sewer hookup. You must provide your own water. There is a dump station 5 miles from the campsite at Tipsaw Recreation Area.

Our family is devoted to history and preserving the essence of the past. You may very well see us pull up in one of our antique cars to greet you! Our neighbors are friendly and many are also small farmers. You can't see their farms from camp, but don't be surprised to hear roosters crowing, cattle mooing, and donkeys braying in the distance. The camping spot we refer to as the NORTHSIDE SPOT is a flat yard atop a hill it makes for a great spot to park your RV, camper, tent or boat. This grass camping spot is always mowed and clean. Two large pine trees provide some shade for this northside camping spot. You can enjoy nearly panoramic views of the night sky! This spot is alongside a country road. It is considered less private than the SOUTH SIDE SPOT.
The SOUTH SIDE CAMPING SPOT, is for tent campers only with a smaller vehicle. It is very private and completely surrounded by woods. This spot can accommodate two tents and one or two cars. There is no view of the night sky since you are in a dense forest.
Patoka lake is less than 10 minutes away ( boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, biking).
Holiday World ( an amusement park) is about 30 minutes away.

We like to interact with people or you can keep to yourself and have a quiet getaway in the woods. Sorry, but the tree house isn't available to rent since it is my home. We are on a solar powered, off the grid 30 acre homestead that has 24 acres of wooded land and 6 acres of groomed land. Come explore our land and relax in the "Tree Web", see the 2 story tree house that I live in, have fun on the tire swing, or just sit and enjoy all that nature has to offer. You can explore our interesting topography that has close to 100 foot of elevation changes, our (mostly) dry creek system that starts with 2 springs that drain into 3 sinkholes or walk 3 miles of trails (if you follow each trail from end to end).
We love groups - Host your event here or have a group gathering with all your friends and family. We have spaces large enough to host hundreds of people.
We welcome pets for camping, but no pets allow in the Camping Cabin. Also be aware that we have 2 friendly dogs on the land that roam freely.

Wow!! What an absolutely beautiful spot! Our site was tucked away and private, right under a cliff. Sweet dog on the property and Van was super kind and helpful. WiFi available at the site if needed. I’d recommend this for anyone wanting some quiet time away. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Tar Springs was a totally magical get away fro the city and we cannot wait to return! Van and Chuck were such kind and accommodating hosts- sharing their hatchet, and recommendations for what to do in the area. Even with some rain we were completely dry from a storm, and the facilities were so clean! Such a luxury on a camp out.

We had a great time at Kerry’s!! He was a very welcoming host. His land is beautiful and well taken care of. Our kids loved playing on the tire swing, hanging out with the dogs, climbing in the tree web, and exploring. It was great to have the little cozy cabin with a comfy mattress and shelter for when it rained. We slept great in there!

Loved being close to work in Louisville for a quick commute but being able to enjoy the calmness at our site at night. Our kids and dog loved the campsite and the porta potty was an added plus.

The campsite was clean, grass was short, and there were a sink and outhouse closeby, though I didn't use them in order to rate them. We came in sort of late, left sort of early, and had a good experience. Nobody bothered us, and even though we could see a house nearby, we didn't hear anything but nature around us the entire night. We were contacted maybe 10 minutes after booking with the proper directions and had no trouble finding ourselves all the way to our site.

We stopped here for our first night of our road trip, it was nice! No frills, just a nice basic spot to spend the night. There was a very large area to set up our tent, and it had a fire pit which is always nice. It was very quiet except for a train that goes by sometimes but we had earplugs so it didn’t bother us. I’d totally stay here again if I’m in the area! Love from Chicago! <3

Loved everything about this site! So peaceful and pretty. The goats provided endless entertainment. Thoughtful host has stocked the bathroom with supplies. This will definitely be our go-to spot when visiting Mammoth Cave.
Just some helpful notes for campers: The green river ferry is only operational until 4pm each day and even though the ferry says no RVs, our Transit camper van was allowed. Also, this campsite is in a dry county, so come prepared. Finally, horses will be trotting by often (lovely!) but just something to keep in mind if you are bringing a pup.
Five stars!! This has been one of our favorite hip camps to date!

Easy to find, and super close to most of the attractions we saw at the National Park. I recommend purchasing the firewood bundles. It’s convenient and you’re not moving firewood, which promotes their restoration project. Although the site is mostly primitive (you do have potable water), it feels inviting with the stone fire ring, two chairs waiting on you, and manicured paths. The field is scenic and serene. Far enough from other sites, it feels like you’re the only ones there even if you’re not. Kevin was responsive and hospitable. Both mornings a pair of geese flew directly over the campsite at dawn, honking as they passed. We could also hear turkeys, chickens, and songbirds. Kevin is full of advice, so be sure to ask him if you need local tips.
