The property features my beautiful 1950's red brick home, and 2 restored red historic barns surrounded by farm fields. Parking is always available in front of the barns on gravel. When the ground isn't too soft, you can also park within the couple acres of open, mowed ground behind the barns. 30 amp electricity is available near the barns. New for 2025 we have our own flock of chickens and will usually have fresh eggs available. The flock includes roosters, so you may get an early morning wake up call! Leashed pets are welcome.

Welcome to Narnia! Or Atlantis!? Or... The Property? The Hidden Valley? We just haven't committed to a name yet so it's a little bit of everything all rolled into one! 8 acres on the magical Ganges, er, White River makes for a fun time. You can expect a certain amount of privacy while still potentially making a new friend or two depending on the night. You will be nestled under some giant sycamores, cottonwoods, black walnuts, catulpas, and a mess of bush honeysuckle that is always being battled! We have 2-3 sites directly on the river and then scores throughout with trails, hills, and other interesting features. Multiple firepits though I CANNOT guarantee firewood. There is often plenty to collect or available on site but if you can bring your own that'd be safest bet!
We are (somehow) located partially inside Muncie city limits right on the river. Yes you may occasionally hear some trains or even particularly loud cars while camping deep in the woods but this is the tradeoff for a one mile drive to bars, restaurants, and groceries! Best of both worlds. The Muncie Eagles, whose nest resides directly across the river from us, do not seem to mind! This location is also directly on two main bike trail routes and our trails are fun for low impact mountain biking! We also have a small armada of kayaks/canoes on site; IF arranged that option does exist for cost of transport! We have 2 porta potties on site as well and fresh water hose available at main house.

Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There are 2 porta potties near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast.
We do provide a large trash bin near the porta potties for trash disposal. DO NOT throw trash into fire pits or burn barrels in the woods.
Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you CANNOT drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles!

I’d highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a nice get away or just someone passing through it was so nice we stayed an extra night. Be careful in the shop! I booked the Shade Tree Spot at Tory’s place. It was next to the house and she provided an extension cord for power. Her animals are friendly and fun to watch. I had a few personal projects to complete so I wasn’t too social or too adventurous but Tory made it known that she was nearby if I needed anything. She even picked me a bouquet of various mint from her garden! I felt very welcomed and taken care of. I even booked two additional days after my original booking.
Definitely book Tory’s place if you’re looking for a reasonably priced getaway. Be prepared for normal animal sounds (and smells) as it is a sweet little farm with character.

We stayed in the cabin, called the Hollow. Excellent view very quiet dog friendly. The hosts were amazingly nice. I would recommend anybody that is wanting a nice quiet weekend to get away with a little bit of fishing and plenty of activities in the area check this place out.

My family enjoyed our stay at the Firefly Nest. We are not big campers, so we needed a site that could better suit our inexperience. The Firefly Nest provided that with a roomy tent that made sleeping adventurous, yet comfortable, an inviting firepit with firewood, and a very nice step up from a campground outhouse. The development of the trail is a great plus for the site. It's a great place for some quiet time. Hopefully our next trip provides some better weather (less rain!).

Imagine the smell of chestnut and cedar while you’re looking up at a architectural detail rarely seen, this was exactly our experience when we stayed in “Roundtop” The cabin has a barrel ceiling aged to perfection as if you are sipping on the finest bourbon. The rustic style cabin has a charming screened in porch with a view of the lake, a small couch and side table topped off with string lights. The main sleeping area has four windows with two windows that open inward a small table and refrigerator, two fans and a sweet note welcoming us to the space. What I appreciate is the absence of tv so that we experienced a true sense of connection. I also was very happy that we could bring our own bed and bedding, it’s like camping but with walls. Additionally, knowing who was coming and why, the hosts lovingly left us a rock painting kit. We booked a yoga session and it was fantastically led, super relaxing and totally worth it!!! We enjoyed the outdoor shower after swimming. The hand washing sink is a nice addition. Watched other guests catch fish, I even heard one person yell to their loved one that they caught four in a row. With so many ways to stay here, I know you won’t be disappointed!

This was a great place to stay while in FtWayne to visit my kids. I really enjoyed the camping space, being in the woods and having trails to walk. It was so helpful to have firewood at hand and a bathroom I could use. The shower was great! My time there was very peaceful. I actually extended my stay a day just to enjoy the camp site!

My husband, my dad, and I all loved camping here! Cole and Janel were so kind and welcoming. We were new to Hipcamp and they went out of their way to make sure we had a great first experience. The Landing site was perfect for my dad’s teardrop camper with plenty of room leftover for my husband and I to tent camp. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing right from our campsite! Can’t wait to stay here again.

I had a beautiful experience at River Camp, Fort Wayne! It is a beautiful property with everything you need and also very primitive and secluded at the same time. it is a very nice place with a pool, a working bathroom a nice outdoor shower and the campsites are in the back in a very secluded area with power and lights. It is very cool! There are trails they go down to the river with frisbee golf course and everything. I had a wonderful experience staying there.!
