Tucked away in the mossy rocks, The Hidden Frog offers a half acre of private, forested camping on the banks of Kelso Lake. The 60 acre lake allows non-motorized watercraft only, which makes for a peaceful, relaxing stay. The parking area has room for a vehicle and trailer up to 60ft long combined, plus another area for a single vehicle. It is adjacent to a shared driveway, so you must leave room for vehicles to get around you. You can choose to set up camp there, or down a short path to the lake where there is ample flat ground for multiple tents. The path is cleared but rocky, so always make sure to watch your step! A fire ring, shovel, bucket of water, emergency fire extinguisher, 2 chairs and one 13gal garbage bag are provided for your use. I live next door, so I'm around if there is anything you need (don't be afraid to ask!) There are no other amenities right now, but we plan on adding some as we start to make some money (i.e. an outhouse, electrical.) The shoreline is very bushy and rocky- not ideal for fishing, boating or swimming, but there is a free public boat launch site .4mi down the road, plus another at Granite lake .7mi away. Both offer a toilet, and a place for swimming and fishing (must have a fishing licence.) Please respect the boundaries and do not cross into neighbors' yards. Also, do not disturb the mosses growing on the rocks (it is a fragile ecosystem!) and respect the wildlife that make the space their home. Wildlife you may encounter includes deer, moose, beaver, otters, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, salamanders, eagles, osprey, blue herons, ducks, and many other bird species- we are located on the Idaho Birding Trail. NEW: RETURN CAMPERS GET 10% OFF! Just send me a message to let me know you've been here before and I will issue a partial refund for the amount. Park your RV, overland rig, pitch a tent, or sleep under the stars next to the Coeur D’ Alene River. Be advised this is directly next to State Highway 3. If you are a light sleeper, or road noise bothers you, this is not the campsite for you. At the camp, you can launch your kayaks at the river to go for an adventure down through the Chain Lakes, all eight are accessible by the river adjacent to where you will sleep. The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts. You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness. There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire. You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run. Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. Be advised the highway and river are hazardous for off-leash animals and rambunctious toddlers. Please send a message if you have any questions. I am happy to help.

Giant, dense pine forests rise up along the shores of the flat riverbed, with gorgeous homes high up overlooking it—be sure to take a scenic drive through the neighborhood. The nearby historic town of Wallace is a great place for antiquing, bars, diners, and just general mountain charm, while the town of Coeur d’Alene itself has a very Scandinavian vibe; active and modern, yet very remote and relaxing!

Shaped by behemoth glaciers that carved out the land over 10,000 years ago, Colville National Forest is a gorgeous treasure spanning 1.1 million acres (props to President Theodore Roosevelt for saving it). The lands include a number of geographic features including the Kettle River, upper reach of the Columbia River and the Selkirk mountain range, which is considered to be at the foothills of the Rockies. Residents (including several Native American tribes) and visitors enjoy camping, nearly 500 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, lakes, rivers and some too legit to quit wildlife including grizzly bears, cougars, bald eagles and the last remaining herd of caribou in the US. That was almost starting to sound like an indie music festival lineup! Did we mention it’s an inspiring place? So much so that close to a million smackeroos was recently rewarded for continued restoration projects. Check the forest website for alerts and advisories.

(Import note on driving directions: do not take Riley creek road to property, it’s a goat trail that is blocked on the other side. This issue only occurs when you use maps from the sandpoint area). Welcome to the base of the beautiful Selkirk mountains, we’re nestled in between the beautiful lake resort town of Sandpoint ID and the picturesque resort area know at priest lake. Our property was originally homesteaded back before Idaho was a state by a trapper who fell in love with this lush little valley in the mountains. Once Idaho did become a state, the officials decided to keep the land surrounding this little oasis making it completely surrounded by thousands of acres of state endowment land usable to the public. There are three full time creeks that run though the property along with a few beaver made ponds and one large man made swimming pond. The site boasts hundreds of campsites ranging from dry RV parking to small tents on rock ledges overlooking the lush valley. Expect to see deer, elk, moose, turkey and a few other wild animals roaming the land around you. We have the space for event camping as well, we have a large covered gazebo for shaded group meals. Furthermore there is also a band stand for ceremonies and live music on select dates. We’re only 12 miles from town but you get that feeling of being out of the rush of the outside world.

Meet your hosts at Cedar River, Shaunna and Jeremiah. Along with their children and extended family, this couple has realized a dream a lifetime in the making. Cedar River is the 'labor of love' child of veteran wedding photographer (Jeremiah Andrews) and sustainability entrepreneur (Shaunna Dahlberg). The home and property on Priest River was purchased as a family gathering place and dream retirement home. Shaunna and Jeremiah eagerly undertook the formidable task of updating and renovating their dream retreat from top to bottom. The home has been transformed into a warm and inviting place for family and friends to share amazing meals, good drink, and bountiful laughter. Beyond the main house, Jeremiah and Shaunna envision sharing the beauty of Priest River with the ones they cherish most. Cedar River was built (quite literally, stone by stone) as their own custom, forested riverside wedding setting. The two are ecstatic with the simple elegance and quirky bohemian vibe of the property as they share in the magical moments coming to life. Jeremiah and Shaunna look forward to the adventure that comes with growing as a family, a couple, and hosts to the Inland Northwest's newest premier waterfront wedding, event and camping venue.

Named for a sprawling, sparkling body of water that just appears out of nowhere off the highway, Coeur d’Alene River Campground and Picnic Areas are a mind-boggling expanse of beauty, color, and water sports (swimmers, tubers, sailers, parasailers, and seaplane pilots bring your sunscreen).
