This is a very private and quiet place, more of a sanctuary and not a party place. The only thing you hear is nature, a breeze through the pine trees, the birds, and the creek. This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is no longer off grid, but if the power does go out, it's a great place to be.. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)! Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi. There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever! We haven't added all the experiential options yet, so if there is something you are interested in please inquire. Every year we make it more and more magical and interesting. It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake. I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid! If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

Before you book a reservation at the Moose, there are a few things you should know. Our hope, and the reason we opened Lost Moose Campground, is that our guests would have a friendly and fun atmosphere away from life's hustle and bustle where everyone has the opportunity to relax, enjoy nature, and explore north Idaho with their family and friends. Our campground is remote and it does take a little more time and effort to get here. While most of our guests repeatedly tell us it's totally worth it and it's just what they were looking for, others have let us know that they would prefer to be closer to the Interstate and the amenities of "civilization." We just want everyone to be happy! So, before you book a reservation, we want you to know a few things about our campground that way you'll know just what to expect when you stay at the Moose! • Lost Moose Campground is located 8 miles south of Interstate 90. Getting here includes 6 miles of gravel road that can be a little bumpy at times throughout the year. • There's no cell service or wifi at the campground. A landline is available for emergencies and cell service can be found often when traveling nearby roads and trails. • Due to our proximity to Latour Creek we do not have sewer hookups or a dump station. All RV Sites are equipped with power and water hookups and toilets and hot showers are available. • The nearest grocery store is approximately 12 miles away, the nearest gas station 11 miles, nearest dump station 11 miles, and the nearest restaurant is about 12 miles away. It takes about 45 minutes to reach Coeur d'Alene or Wallace. • Latour Creek provides a great place for kids and adults alike to cool off in the summer, but it is not suitable for kayaking or floating. The Coeur d'Alene River is only 8 miles away and is well suited for those activities. • Crystal Lake trailhead is approximately 12 miles above the campground and is accessible by car. The Mirror Lake trailhead is also accessed about 12 miles above the campground, but includes a narrow jeep road that isn't suitable for vehicles not designed for off-roading. • The Trail of the Coeur d'Alene's bike trail parking area is 8 miles from the campground at the junction of Latour Creek and I-90. • ATV's can be ridden from the campground. There are no formal maps of our area, but we are happy to help give directions and suggestions for great places to ride. SO MANY THINGS TO DO Most of our guests come stay with us to get away in the wild. When you are out and about on the trails, chances are you'll see moose, elk and deer - if you're lucky you may even see a bear! It's a real rarity when we hit the trails and don't see at least one of the above! • IN CAMP Play in the river, do some fishing in the creek, play horseshoes and corn hole, eat ice cream, explore the surrounding area, relax, build a campfire, etc. • FROM CAMP Enjoy access to hundreds of miles of ATV/UTV trails directly from camp. Take off upstream or downstream and fish all day. Huckleberry picking in season only a few miles away! • OUTSIDE CAMP Bike trails, kayaking or floating the river, fishing, water parks, theme parks and area attractions. Fun urban adventures are within an hour of the campground! • SILVER MOUNTAIN Try mountain biking in the region's best lift served bike park, go for a scenic gondola ride, hike to the fire lookout on Kellogg Peak or just settle in for some huckleberry ribs and listen to live music at the mountain house grill. How about a round of mountain golf at Galena Ridge, or grab some pavement bikes from Silver Mountain Sports and hit the 72 mile bike path that runs right by our parking lot. Silver Rapids, Idaho's largest indoor waterpark, takes weather out of the equation by creating a perfect 84 degree, football field-sized location to splash, swim and surf on the perfect wave! Our secondary lot offers a scenic plot, removed from town but within easy driving distance of local activities and restaurants. You will park next to our shop, which offers privacy from the road, but please take note of its placement in our photos to ensure that will work for your stay. The main property and home are next door, and we are easily reachable if you need anything during your visit. We offer year round electrical hook-ups, and fresh water in Spring, Summer and Fall (the pipes are winterized from approximately the end of October-March, depending on the snow season). While there is only 1 electrical hook-up, there is space for an additional vehicle, and options for parking locations if electrical is not required. During your stay, keep an eye out for our neighborhood moose family, our year-round bald eagles, and our many deer, quail, and turkey friends. Winter camping is available, but please note that we can receive large amounts of snow. Please reach out with any questions! Tucked away in the mossy rocks, The Hidden Frog offers a half acre of private, forested camping on the banks of Kelso Lake. The 60 acre lake allows non-motorized watercraft only, which makes for a peaceful, relaxing stay. The parking area has room for a vehicle and trailer up to 60ft long combined, plus another area for a single vehicle. It is adjacent to a shared driveway, so you must leave room for vehicles to get around you. You can choose to set up camp there, or down a short path to the lake where there is ample flat ground for multiple tents. The path is cleared but rocky, so always make sure to watch your step! A fire ring, shovel, bucket of water, emergency fire extinguisher, 2 chairs and one 13gal garbage bag are provided for your use. I live next door, so I'm around if there is anything you need (don't be afraid to ask!) There are no other amenities right now, but we plan on adding some as we start to make some money (i.e. an outhouse, electrical.) The shoreline is very bushy and rocky- not ideal for fishing, boating or swimming, but there is a free public boat launch site .4mi down the road, plus another at Granite lake .7mi away. Both offer a toilet, and a place for swimming and fishing (must have a fishing licence.) Please respect the boundaries and do not cross into neighbors' yards. Also, do not disturb the mosses growing on the rocks (it is a fragile ecosystem!) and respect the wildlife that make the space their home. Wildlife you may encounter includes deer, moose, beaver, otters, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, salamanders, eagles, osprey, blue herons, ducks, and many other bird species- we are located on the Idaho Birding Trail. Lovely and safe neighborhood area with a gate that locks. The large, gravel RV pad is nice & level. A great place to stay over night as we were passing through. This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here. Andre is a great host! Very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Dreamy place. Smells like pine trees all day. Beautiful views of the Palouse. Its very well set up. Hot water in the faucet and bathoom. The outside sink was a plus. The table is very big, lots of dry firewood, spacious area, lots of parking, sting lights, the owners were very accomodating, flexible and very welcoming. The kids were very loud and they didn't once come over or say anything.

I loved camping on this piece of property! The camp sites were fantastic with a great view. The land is very well maintained and has small hikes through the property. There are amazing touches throughout the property that show the host loves the property. It was very quiet and felt remote. The trees and rock landscape on the property are beautiful. Things to know: The road up is one way and fairly narrow. Move slowly and use a spotter if necessary. Also - the electric supply box is located a distance from the D spot, and is shared by C and D. You may need more electrical line to reach your camper, even in the C spot! It was a great site to camp in and the host was responsive on the app!
