We have walking trails, a pond where you can kayak, relax on the dock, or feed the huge fish (sorry no fishing allowed.) Also, on our property, there are swings, a tree house deck, obstacle course, fire pit area, wooden bridge, picnic table, and abundant bird life. There's also plenty of wide-open space where you can play frisbee, run, do yoga, and stargaze at night.
There's plenty to do in this area, using the farm as your base. Claxton, our hometown, is a great friendly, small-town with grocery and hardware stores and restaurants. Many guests like to side-trip over to the towns of Statesboro, Metter, Vidalia, and Savannah, plus the Golden Isles.

Saturday's and Sunday's are very quiet. Monday through Friday has a bit of traffic during rush hour periods. Country location offers lots of peaceful charm and parklike atmosphere. We have a brand new public toilet too! And 30 amp hookups with excellent quality well water included.

The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite.
The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. My cousin loved to fish and purchased 100 acres of land here 50 years ago. I wound up with this part of the property which is now surrounded by Big Hammock wildlife management area. For the past 47 years I’ve gone here to enjoy the river. The Ohoopee river splits here on the opposite bank and forms a 100 acre island before flowing into the nearby Altamaha river. Usually the river flow slows and kayaking around the island is pretty easy. There is a lot of wildlife to see here with white tail deer, turkey, waterfowl, beavers, otters, feral hogs and predators. The island is a favorite roost for every species of birds. During dry periods, the Ohoopee river water gets very clear with visibility greater than 6’ at times.

Dayna was a helpful host. It was a great spot to stop and spend the night as I was traveling farther north. The restroom was clean and the campground was quiet. There were beautiful wisteria that cave a great scent to the campground.

Me , My husband and my dog Sophia had a great stay at Catherine’s place . We arrived late and luckily we keep communicating with Catherine to find her place, she was waiting for us and greeted us, we felt special and at home . The place had plenty of room for our 37 ft fifth wheel and long bed truck . We will definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a safe and comfortable spot .. 5 star ⭐️

This site was super convenient for last minute camping accommodations. Stayed here to visit Savannah, and will be returning. Good spot on the way to and from Florida. Gas stations and highway nearby. Not private, tent spots are right next to each other, but it didn't bother us. No bathhouses, but portapotties weren't bad and were close. Super chill.

That place is in a beautiful and remote area, far from highways, close to water (swimmin possible). Hosts (Dana and her husband) are very nice and welcoming people, trying to please guests to their best. I used firepit to prepare my dinner and observe sky as there is a lot of open unobstructed area.

This place was awesome, perfect for relaxation. Waking up to horses at your door was pretty cool!!
Daran is very communicative helped me in to the spot, offered anything i need. I stayed at the horse barn site and its full hook up. Check in at this place, I promise you won't be disappointed!

This is a lovely sight. The owners were communicative and kind. They have plenty of firewood, porta potty on sight. It was a really fantastic first time use of Hipcampers.
Some general thoughts for owners!
I unfortunately pulled in late into the night and was unsure which specific sights were available, a crude map and colored lights of some kind to distinguish which sights were available would be helpful.

Lovely, peaceful area surrounded by trees and the beginnings of a vineyard! The street leading to the farm was lovely as well.
And April and her husband couldn’t have been friendlier! Their dogs too!

Enjoyed our stay with Rick. Excellent communication, accommodating and very welcoming. Site was very easy to access and was very clean and well groomed. Water, electric power and trash bin were directly adjacent to the level concrete pad. There is some road noise, but nothing that disrupted our stay. Really nice Hip Camp.

This place was the perfect spot to get away for a few days. We visited Statesboro and the George L. Smith state park, which were under 30 minutes away! The camp grounds were very well kept and clean. There was a nice sized pond and dog park. The host was very sweet and helpful. We definitely plan on returning.

Some of the highlights of this hip camp were picnic tables, fire rings, firewood on site, CLEAN portolet, and it’s dark and quiet nature. This was a last minute reservation because our planned hip camp canceled at the last minute (day prior). Unfortunately this left us one hour north of our desired location (St Mary’s/ Cumberland Is NS)
