Michael and Kimberly Duke bought a small cabin on the Canoochee River to enjoy as a family. They decided to list it on a vacation rental site. As this property was in full demand, another property became available to buy. As interest began to increase, the family decided open up the options for their visitors. At this current date, they have four cabins and a yurt, as well as, tent sites. We are excited about the yurt that was completed in August 2019. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite. Weekend Trip to Paradise Under The Oaks

Beautiful setting about 20 mins from downtown Savannah, would stay here again in a heartbeat! Level and pull-through (when it’s not raining). We were able to get hooked up properly but provided feedback to make it easier for future travelers. As-is, you’ll need two sewer hoses for sure. The 50A was installed upside down and we were able to finagle our converter in before plugging in, but someone else’s set up might not work. It’s such a gorgeous natural setting, even when it’s raining. You can see in the pictures there is a car, boat, storage on site which didn’t bother us one bit, but again that may come down to preference. It was quiet and safe, good for families with kids like us. Went into town every day with ease. Thanks Brian!

I think the yurt was absolutely great for a glamping trip. It had all the amenities you could want and even extra. I will say that it was a little difficult to get to but Kim's instructions work extremely helpful. I do suggest that you use a truck or a Jeep not that a car can't get down there but it's just easier. I think it would be really even much better once some of the debris from all the flooding and hurricanes is taking care of so that you can enjoy kayaking down the river unblocked but there is much woods to explore and it's perfect getaway to be with nature.

Weekend Trip to The Neature Preserve

A pleasant experience of seclusion, some traffic noise in the background though not excessive. Not to far from the interstate 95 grind and extremely close to the classic US 1 east coaster route. Warmer temperatures than the states above, an early start to springtime. I wasn't bothered by a dog barking like someone else mentioned though I did hear one in the distance when visiting one of the other campsites. All in all the hipcamp is well worth the cost with a nice host & cozy feeling.
