We are 25 minutes from Okeechobee City, the bass fishing capital of the world, 45 minutes to Fort Pierce, & 35 miles from Sebring International Raceway. The Kissimmee Prairie State Park is very close by. The prairie is the darkest part of Florida. Astronomers, bring your telescopes and cameras to capture the night.
You will possibly see cows, bobcats, wild turkeys, wild pigs, armadillos, birds, or the neighbors dogs might show up. Don’t worry, they are quite friendly.
We have a 50 amp RV Hookup with NO septic and plenty of space for primitive camping.
Bring your horse, but there is no paddock or barn.
The storage building on the premises is not part of the rental, please leave it alone.
There is electricity and non-potable water. The water is safe for teeth brushing, washing dishes, and showering, but it does have a very strong smell of sulfur. There is an outhouse. Please use it sparingly & only flush toilet paper provided. There is an outside sink, an outside shower with no privacy, a picnic table and a fire pit. If you come with your RV, please use your RV toilet. There will be a major fine for any septic dumping.
1/3 of the land is cleared and 2/3 is full of mature oak trees and trails. It is fenced with barbed wire fencing.
Please keep your food trash in your cars & take it with you. You do not want to attract predators. You can recycle, or throw away any trash that is not related to food in the garbage can. Keep an eye on your small dogs. There are also snakes and predatory birds.

David (our host) was great! Site was beautiful and well maintained. Our family guys trip (kids - 17,16, and 4) had a great time. We ventured to Kissimmee Prairie Preserve for a hike, which was close and easy to get to. Hot showers outside were a needed treat. All facilities were well kept and great additions. Thank you, David.

We had a great time camping at this preserve. Michael is very responsive and doesn’t hesitate to answer any questions you may have. When we arrived he had someone ready to show us how to get to our spot which is secluded so very peaceful change from the busy state parks. The site was clean and had great space and coverage. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and would stay again!!

Weekend Trip to Surfer Beach And Tree Sanctuary
Had an amazing and relaxing weekend. The campsite itself was very private, and the proximity to the “private-ish” beach was the best part. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was the perfect private getaway. The only downside was that the mini fridge at our site wasn’t working, so we had to rely on our cooler. Aside from that small issue, it was a 10/10 experience. We’ll definitely be back for the peace and quiet.

This is a working farm and venue with great spots to car camp. The preserve on the property is a beautiful old oak hammock to explore. We saw gators, otters, heard coyotes in the distance. Fun spot to unwind for a weekend.

Tent camping with our two dogs in November. The site had a fire pit (sand with some cinderblocks) that fit our needs; brought our own wood. Toilet was close to site, site was clean and private. Bring bug spray. Goats were cool and property dog “Pete” was nice.

I was actually Patrick’s first guest! Old Mill Landing is a beautiful, peaceful spot surrounded by nature. I stayed here to bass fish on Lake Okeechobee and it was the perfect base for the trip. The property is well-kept and has a great old Florida feel. Definitely recommend it!

I loved every second of my time at St Lucie Farm Preserve! Michael was a gracious host, and the location was perfect ( I could hear some highway noise but it was nothing). This is the best experience if you want quiet, some trails to walk through, and beautiful scenery. I’ll definitely be returning.

Weekend Trip to Surfer Beach And Tree Sanctuary
What a great place! First of all, you are just across the street from the beach and from a turtle sanctuary!! It’s one of the last spots on the Atlantic coast of Florida which is not overdeveloped. I hesitate to broadcast it too much as it is so special!
John runs a small surf shop and a surf camp. So there’s a low key, cool business attached to the property (filled with great books to be loaned). The yurt is quite comfortable and has all the amenities you need. It’s very quiet and surrounded by jungle like foliage. I highly recommend this place. We will absolutely be back. My only suggestion is in summer note that they have mosquitoes. It’s manageable, but prepare in advance.

We loved Sandy’s Swamp. She’s a great host. She met us on time and showed us around. As advertised. Roughing it with perks. Our first morning in the swamp started with 4 hours of thunderstorms. We chilled in the large dry screened porch. Would have been horrible without it. Kayak launch was simple. Will be back when it’s cooler. Maybe a day trip so we can sleep in AC after a long shower.

Nice property with lots of areas to walk. Oak canopy is beautiful and peaceful with secluded spots for tents. Would definitely camp here again and look forward to booking a long weekend in the fall ad bringing friends!

I stayed here with my children for Mother's Day Weekend. We were delighted to find out that it's on an island! Very close to the beach and state parks. They are in the middle of building a new platform to put the dome on. I was a little sad we had the view of a half-finished construction project, but for future visitors that will be an amazing upgrade. DON'T SKIP THE BUG SPRAY!!
