Welcome to Matos Farm at HippieCamp, your peaceful country retreat nestled in the heart of Wildwood, Florida. Our dream has always been to create a place where people can unplug, unwind, and reconnect—with nature, with themselves, and with the simple joys of farm life. Spread across 10 acres and surrounded by over 100 acres of serene cattle pastures, Matos Farm is a sanctuary for anyone looking to breathe fresh air, gaze at uninterrupted sunsets, and find peace in the natural rhythm of rural living. Here, you’ll wake up to the soft clucking of chickens and fall asleep to the gentle hoots of owls. It's the kind of place where you can slow down, start a morning with a warm cup of coffee by the firepit, and end your day watching the sun dip below a horizon lined with grazing cows. Whether you're lighting a bonfire under the stars, wandering through our 4-acre woods with your kids, or bottle-feeding our sweet Jersey calves, every moment invites you to experience life more simply—and more fully. Even though we’re tucked away in the countryside, convenience is just around the corner. We’re only 6 minutes from a 7eleven, Publix, CVS pharmacy, Macdonald's, coffewhops and restaurants. Plus, we have quick and easy golf cart access to The Villages, making it the perfect base for families who want to stay close to visiting grandparents while still enjoying an adventurous and rustic stay. At Matos Farm, it’s not just about the animals or the land—it’s about the feeling. It’s the calm you find when your feet touch the dirt, the laughter shared around a fire, and the joy of watching your children run wild through the woods, their imaginations leading the way. Whether you’re looking for a weekend reset or a longer escape, we’d love to share our little piece of heaven with you. Come stay, explore, and breathe a little deeper. Welcome to HippieCamp at Matos Farm.

Camp Shiloh

Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location. But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch. You are welcome to stay on the property while you explore the local communities of New Smyrna and Titusville, relax at beautiful Canaveral National Seashore, attend races in Daytona, visit amusement parks in Orlando... or whatever! It’s up to you. We are a peaceful, safe location from which you can stage your Florida adventure. Come on by. We look forward to hosting you! Learn more about this land: Park your van/small RV or pitch your tent on our rural homestead conveniently located 1000 ft off of US Hwy 1. Nearest I-95 exit is 3 miles away. Watch rocket launches, visit nearby beaches, attend NASCAR races, see local communities, relax at Canaveral National Seashore, birdwatch at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, fish Mosquito Lagoon, or visit the amusement parks of Orlando, we are a safe and quiet location from which to stage your adventures. We have two campsites. Site 1 is a nice level, grassy campsite for tent or RV, complete with a fire ring, picnic table, and firewood. Site 2 is the Glamping Greenhouse! We aren't fancy, but are clean, secure, and private. You can come and go as you please, and day-trip all over beautiful central Florida!
