**MAY HAPPENINGS** We have availability for Memorial Day and fishing continues to be HOT!! Redfish are plentiful and tarpon are rolling! Fishing continues to be the draw during the off season. We have a Fish Cleaning House on site to clean your fish. While we wait for Scallop Season we are still welcoming folks from all over the country. Some are still traveling further south in Florida. Some are heading home (Wyoming, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio). We offer three Amish built log cabins at our RV Campground. Each cabin has a front porch, one bedroom with queen size bed and a set of bunk beds in the living area. Two burner stove top, full size microwave and refrigerator. Full size bathroom with large walk-in shower. Fully furnished with towels and linens as well as dishes, cooking utensils and coffee pot. Smart TV with Dish Network. Wi-Fi is included. The Campground is fenced and gated and we are pet friendly. There is a laundry facility on site for the guests. There is a fire pit if you want to relax. In the summer we have a stock tank pool (opens in April) to cool off after a long day on the water. Steinhatchee is located in Taylor County Florida along the Gulf of America. Inshore and offshore fishing is year-round. Scallop season is June 15 to Labor Day. More than 20 springs are located within 45 minutes of Steinhatchee. Too numerous to count are the Florida Wildlife Management areas that are accessible by car and allow for bird watching and animal siting of deer and wild boar. Steinhatchee River is a kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding experience. The local restaurants/Marinas are within five minutes of the campground. Live music is available at the restaurants.

Guest access Large open deck with ladder access to the floating dock which is perfect for mooring your boat or launching kayaks. Kayaks are available for guest use. Provided are (2) single person (1) fishing single person and (1) two-person tandem kayaks with life vest. We offer a complimentary shuttle service for the 5-mile downstream Aucilla River to the Gulf of Mexico trip. This can be scheduled after your check-in. Use of the kayaks are at your "own risk" with no host liability. We encourage guest to enjoy the common areas porches at back of main house. Camp chairs are provided and can be used at the fire pit and along the riverbank. A public boat ramp is located within 300 yards north of the property and we have ample storage for you boat trailer during your stay. Other things to note: House rules for children staying at the cottage. We gladly accept children with the understanding that all children thirteen and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times outside the cottage due to its proximity over the river and being in a very natural wildlife environment. This is a strict requirement that will be compulsory. This is for the safety of your children while staying at the River Rise Cottage. We are pet friendly but do require that your pets are not left alone in the cottage. We have different size crates available, and these are provided at no extra charge in the event that you should leave the cottage and choose not to take your fur baby with you. Weekend Trip to Friendly's River Retreat RV

This was such a nice secluded place to stay overnight on a longer trip- Kids had so much fun just walking around catching lizards and wildlife and learning right outside the door! Shower, ac, WiFi, parking, fridge and all was perfectly good and useful Would definitely recommend this I would download the surrounding area on maps so you can navigate without connection to WiFi, it is very secluded! Also recommend getting food from outside the city because it’s very sparse, stock up on gas too!

What a lovely escape. I stayed at Trudy and Greg’s eclectic rescue farm in the colorful tiny house accompanied by all the chickens and roosters that provide the fresh eggs for breakfast and your alarm clock in the morning. They made it very welcoming and the inside was cozy, cold a/c, a frig, and tv …with a full bathroom that I appreciated as a “glamper.” The animals were a highlight! Shin their pup could chase a ball forever and he was a delight. Ms Calico came for dinner every night. The horses loved extra treats as well. They try to make your experience one to remember with a painting station under the big oaks and the star gazing is something you have to do! Walk the trails at sunset and enjoy a roasted marshmallow by the evening fire.

Weekend Trip to Shell Island Fish Camp and RV Resort

This was our second stay in the two bedroom cabin at shell island fish camp and we loved it again! Restful, relaxing and peaceful! Enjoyed seeing the boats and fishermen and the river! Quick, easy access to Tallahassee for a soccer tournament when the city was too busy! Thanks for a great stay!

The camper was so cute! Perfect for me :) it was chilly the night I stayed and I stayed nice and cozy all night. The trees on the property are amazing all in themselves! But the hosts are just as great… I noticed at night, when you walk out of the bathroom you can see the stars peeking through the trees and moss, so don’t forget to look up! The bathrooms and shower house were top notch. I would love to stay again if I am ever in the area.

Weekend Trip to RUNNING SPRINGS RIVER RETREAT

Everything about this place is a dream! We went for my birthday celebration and completely fell in love. From the first few moments after arrival, I could feel my whole system winding down and relaxing. We loved visiting the spring at the bottom of the dock, and enjoying the river view in the many cozy spaces provided. The kitchen was fully stocked so we could make lots of yummy meals too! The beds were nice and comfy, and the hanging bed outside was a special treat. It was so easy to pop over to the nearby springs to take a dip, and coming back to build a fire was a perfect way to end the day. We will absolutely be back, and soon! Thank you Kelli :)
