Weekend Trip to The Griffin Ranch

Loved the space. I went for a quiet relaxing weekend to shut off from the world and that’s exactly what I did. The property was great, enjoyed quit walks along the lake with my dog and just sitting in rocking chair on front porch. Highly recommend.

Great open land with nice clusters of trees for cooling shade. Owner does an excellent job in providing a bin of some essentials along with a very detailed and organized binder that explains everything you need to know to ensure the best experience possible. All the rules are clear so there’s little left but to relax and enjoy the property. They provide all kinds of add ons including access to a very nice gym. Restrooms and showers were some of the nicest hip camp amenities Ive seen, all cooled by brand new air-conditioners. Cold and hot filtered bottle water is provided to refill your camp supply. We saw several gopher turtles and the bird watching was incredible with 11 different varieties in one evening. We would definitely go back and visit again.

Weekend Trip to Shannon Trails bring your horses

Anne’s place was absolutely perfect! Restaurants, kayak launch, and rainbow Springs all only a few short minutes away! Anne’s outdoor rustic kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever need. And her outdoor bathroom/shower was AWESOME! So much better and cleaner than any state park bathroom facilities we’ve visited. Anne was such a pleasure to have awesome conversations with and she is more than accommodating and so friendly! We will absolutely return. I give her little Country Oasis a 10 out of 10!

Weekend Trip to Bowman's Landing

I will be back a thousand times. I have absolutely fallen in love with this place. I love it so much that I debated on even leaving review because I didn't want to give away the secret of how awesome this place is ☺️ I'm not sure if Nancy owns the place or not, but she's an amazing camp host. From the chicken employees, to the comfort station treats, she really has thought of everything possible to make your stay as carefree as possible. The beds were comfy, cabin was cutely decorated, there are grills and utensils to use for everyone and inside your cabin. It was clean. The place was easy to find, and well lit. The people that were staying there were all friendly and didn't mess with you but were available for conversation if you felt so inclined. What a complete gem. This day was exactly what we needed. Can't wait to come back.

3 nights at Bowman's Landing

Awesome campsite. We stayed in primitive site #1 and it was incredibly spacious. We have a 12-person tent so it is quite large and we could’ve have fit at least 2 more tents in the spot. It seemed to be slightly bigger than primitive site #2. It was very private as well. No electricity or water at the site, but the comfort station, bathrooms, and dish washing station are close by. The bathrooms were super clean and nice. The site does have a fire pit with a grill grate and a picnic table. The staff was super friendly. There is so much to do in the surrounding areas as well as at the campsite. We spent lots of time fishing. We dropped a fishing light off the dock and watched giant fish and softshell turtles swim around. We went to Troy Springs, Ichetucknee Springs, and O’Leno State Park. I HIGHLY suggest Ichetucknee springs. Beautiful water, not too expensive, and we even saw a manatee!! We spent hours hiking at O’Leno and barely even scratched the surface. We will definitely be back.

3 nights at Happy Campers Rescue Ranch

Good experience for a rustic camp spot. Arcadio's land is quite and the camp spots in the back were secluded enough but still close to the house if we needed anything. Arcadio is very friendly and helpful. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to camp for a few days, and don't mind "roughing it", then give it a try! Oh...also the location worked for us to go to Rainbow Springs (15 mins) and Crystal River (30).

Weekend Trip to Neal’s Nest

We were searching for just SIMPLE. Neals Nest and Tina and her husband provided that. It was simple and provided that quietness we were looking for. We met other campers everyone was friendly. Florida has a leash law for pets but everyone we met had pets and were respectful of dogs needing to be dogs and not be on a leash. We met with Tina and they have a awesome Pit bull who has an awesome friendly disposition my 6 lb Chihuahua fell in love with him. They became best friends, this place is beautiful, simple, and peaceful. It offers what as a first time camper in many years would look for. I highly recommend Neals. An RV'er who is a contractor has an RV there, they showed up an the community camp fire and introduced themselves they had 2 beautiful great danes and a gorgeous Chihuahua and were respectful to ask if we minded if their dogs were able to run around... obviously as dog owners we said we absolutely didn't mind... Just a great weekend.

Weekend Trip to Bowman's Landing

Highly recommend! Peaceful, Clean, Great location! We stayed in one of the small cabins. Joe the host was awesome and told us much about the property. Lots of friendly dogs and free roaming chickens everywhere. Free coffee and amenities were very creative. We will be back and try some tent camping

We had a wonderful stay. Everyone there was welcoming and kind. As a woman traveling with 3 kids and a dog, a kind and helpful community was great. The cabin was perfect and river was beautiful. We were happy!

1 night at Neal’s Nest

Amazing character! Had a long journey for a week traveling. It was late in the afternoon when I made contact. I was welcomed warmly on such short notice. Granted there was a previous HC that checked out just that afternoon. I explained how far away I was and asked if it were at all possible just to sleep there. I didn’t care about any other amenities come near midnight. The fact that I entered the glamper and it had good A/C, comfortable bed, and a good cold shower I was in a great position. I woke up feeling a calm knowing that that would be the day got back home. Really helped clear my head in a peaceful quite private area. That simple gesture from her will always be one of my favorite times crossing paths with a complete stranger. Hopefully each of you will be able to cross paths with Tina.

I love staying at Neal's nest. It's a great place to stay. The owners are so nice and polite and the atmosphere is perfect for family's, friends and pets. Highly recommend you check it out.

Plenty of room for kayaks or small boat parking. Water lovers paradise located approximatley 10 min to Seven Sisters Springs, 12 min to Homosassa River, 20 min toThree Sisters Springs, 30 min to Weeki Wachee Springs, 45 min to famous Rainbow River, 1 hour to Devils Den. The camper has a master bedroom and in the rear a bunkhouse. We purchased this camper for stays with our small grandchildren. The bunkroom is not suitable for adults to sleep. The weight limit is 150lbs and the mattresses are 2-3 in foam only suitable for children. The living room sofa does turn into a sleeping spot but would not offer privacy. If traveling with adult groups a 5th wheel or bus has more suitable larger space for those groups. This is great for an adult couple or adult couple with children.

During the day, paddle your way to the beautiful Three Sisters Springs for a swim. You may see some manatee or dolphins on your way there. Hunter Springs is a great little park with a beach area for swimming and kayak rentals too. There are also several Diving with the Manatee tours available. One we suggest in town is Fun2Dive. These are all only a short drive away. You can enjoy swimming, fishing, scalloping, snorkeling, kayaking, pontooning just five minutes away, or just relaxing back at camp fireside. Heritage Village is in town filled with many hometown eateries and shoppes. It's a great way to spend the afternoon and explore downtown Crystal River. We have a variety of great one-of-a-kind eateries with many special events and festivals throughout the year. Conveniently located at the end of the street is a Publix, DG, a Mexican restaurant, and Beef O'Brady's. Warm up next to the campfire and create new memories. Old Town is a small town, 20 minutes north of Chiefland, 45 minutes northeast of Cedar Key and 45 minutes northwest of Gainesville. Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape on 20 acres of serene rural land. Take a walk to the chicken coop and hear all of the chickens' opinions. Lay a blanket out in the meditation corner and enjoy the peace and quiet. Walk through the fruit trees and past the blackberries and take any ripe fruit of your liking. Explore the ranch to locate gopher tortoise burrows (but don't get too close) and wave at all the fox squirrels. Find the northeast corner of the ranch and play volleyball with your friends (let us know if you need a ball). Stroll through the round-pen-turned-garden and check out the Datil pepper plants which we use to make our datil sauce and datil vinegar (both are for sale to guests). Finally, enjoy the starry night sky. Thanks to our rural setting we have some of the darkest skies in Florida. There is an observatory only one mile away! Wildflower Ranch is close to dozens of crystal clear natural springs and rivers, bike trails, hiking trails, state parks, and more. We are ideally located in North Central Florida, so many of your Florida outdoor bucket list adventures are within reach. The ranch is a close neighbor of Devil's Den Prehistoric Spring, the Blue Grotto, Black Prong horse riding and biking trails, Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens and more. Wildflower Ranch offers two private primitive campsites (accommodating tents or vehicles), one private RV site, and one private cabin. Our cabin has a private bathroom, while our campsites have 24/7 access to climate-controlled full bathrooms with hot water showers, flushing toilets, and sinks.
