Conveniently located between Ocala and Gainesville in the heart of Orange Springs, Florida, Camp Seminole Spring is perfectly located for the traveler who wants to really connect with nature. The site is located 150 ft from the dock on our private residential property at the head of the springs, the dock is not visible from the site you do have to walk down to the dock area. Setup your own RV under the shade then enjoy our shared dock with direct access into the Homosassa springs for a refreshing dip or paddle. Private, quiet oasis on dead-end road adjacent to the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail and within walking distance to Depot Park, Cade Museum, and downtown Gainesville. Shared the site with deer frolicking and birds singing each day. Excellent communication with host before arrival. Host is available on site, if necessary, Greeted with six-pack of beer from First Magnitude Brewing Company. Host also offered electric scooters for transportation. Stayed at Downtown Nature Retreat twice in the past month....and would say again whenever in Gainesville! Highly recommend! Check out Paynes Prairie Preserve. Visit Humble Pie, Grand Scheme Brewing, Lynx Bookstore, 4th Street Food Court, and Karma Cream.

We can’t say enough about this beautiful property on 7 acres. You feel enclosed in the woods with lots of privacy. Grounds were perfect. A little tricky backing in, but just take your time and you can manage it. It is priced under market. Making it affordable for most families and a great value. I hope Kate, the owner never sells this gem. It is a property of a lifetime. Springs are bubbling up all around the property. It is located at the end of one of the river’s many private tributaries offering tons of privacy with little boat traffic, I will never forget the experience at this camping site. I would love going back someday and staying longer. Just a note; there is no dock to tie a boat up. So you have to figure out another way to use your boat if you have one. There are public ramps within 5 miles. Swimming and kayaking is available on site.

Such a tranquil and well kept site. The team that meet you on arrival are super friendly. The sites are easy to navigate. The best part for us with kids, was the fire pit on the river, which they load with wood daily plus the social house, when the weather turns bad or the bugs come out we could go in and play pool, darts, games or watch football. Cannot say enough good things about this place!!

This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. The grounds are stunning, dogs loves the fenced in yard, and Elizabeth is a wonderful host. The location is great, walked the dogs as long as they would walk, there are several parks along the path. There are great restaurants close by, and close to everything in Gainesville we needed to be at. Looking forward to our next stay!

Great spot for kayaking and enjoying the local nature. Spot was a great fit for our 28ft camper with one slide out. Make sure you have 50amp hook ups as we forgot the 30/50 conversion and had to get it from tractor supply last min but thats my fault. This beautiful space is a diamond for sure. This place will not disappoint.

We are a 15-acre homestead focused on sustainability hosting 'leave no trace camping.' We request respectful eco-friendly guests and have restrictions against using accelerants to start fires. All wood ash and charcoal is used in our biochar making process to help transform the soil for our agroforestry project. We are in a prime location for campers interested in springs adventures, with many springs within 20-35 mins and many more within 60 minutes' drive, and only 35 to Gainesville. We host dog boarding with Rover app, which means your pet is welcome when booked on the app at a special discounted rate to Hip Campers. Need to leave but can't take your pet? We can give walks and meals as well as crate or kennel them until your return to camp. Please read the RULES carefully. Our gate is lighted with 24/7 camera surveillance watching the street, gate, and our house/shed. We only rent to one group at a time with a preference to small groups. We are busy with culinary and sustainable side projects for the community. This is a working agricultural site and not the place for small children to be wandering around discovering the world. Respect for the ecology is paramount as you may be camping next to restoration projects where we endeavor to encourage edible flora to grow. *We also have a ban on alcohol. Alcohol consumption is not permitted. You will be made to leave if you exhibit irrational or irresponsible behavior. The property has many faces through the season and has abundant wildlife. Please be prepared to deal with anything from deer outside your tent, to mosquitos, ticks and mites. Mosquito netting, natural bug repellent, anti-itch cream, boots and appropriate clothing are advised. You can go clothing-free and barefoot around without causing a stir, but that is at your own discretion. We are in rattlesnake country, so please mind your footing. The gardens are not tropical year-round. The camps may be more tropical in summer but also have more bugs. We swim, dive and paddle year-round on our waterways.
