This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there.
Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch.
Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees.
Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando.
A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing!
Whether you'd like a leisurely day on the river or an adventure in the Gulf, there are plenty of boating options nearby. Be sure to make it back to the property in time to enjoy amazing sunsets that bring peace and tranquility to your experience.
Our neighbors, JG Ranch, offers U- Pick Fruit and Vegetables or a great selection of local harvest at their roadside stand.

Privacy and country comforts, yet 3 miles from the I-75 exit. Grocery and restaurants nearby as well. There is a stable and 2 cross-fenced paddocks for grazing. An RV site with 30A power and water hookup, but no restroom available fo the RV site. A one room cabin with a queen bed is available with a separate full bathroom. Come visit our friendly donkey (Henry) and Scottish Highland cow (Wallace). You will hear roosters, braying and some mooing early in the morning. The Withlacoochee Trail is a mile east at the end of the road. This is a biking, hiking and equestrian trail. Florida Classic Park is roughly 2 miles north on Lockhart. The Croom Recreational Area is also 3 miles away.
If you are traveling with farm animals, we do have (2) 2-acre cross-fenced paddocks available for an additional fee. We also have a stable available, but that does have a concrete floor with mats. Please reach out to us directly in this regard.

Hunter Springs is a great little park with a beach area for swimming and kayak rentals too.
There are also several Diving with the Manatee tours available. One we suggest in town is Fun2Dive. These are all only a short drive away.
You can enjoy swimming, fishing, scalloping, snorkeling, kayaking, pontooning just five minutes away, or just relaxing back at camp fireside.

Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch.
Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees.
Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando.
A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing!
Whether you'd like a leisurely day on the river or an adventure in the Gulf, there are plenty of boating options nearby. Be sure to make it back to the property in time to enjoy amazing sunsets that bring peace and tranquility to your experience.
Our neighbors, JG Ranch, offers U- Pick Fruit and Vegetables or a great selection of local harvest at their roadside stand.

Hunter Springs is a great little park with a beach area for swimming and kayak rentals too.
There are also several Diving with the Manatee tours available. One we suggest in town is Fun2Dive. These are all only a short drive away.
You can enjoy swimming, fishing, scalloping, snorkeling, kayaking, pontooning just five minutes away, or just relaxing back at camp fireside.

Okay, you may think these two guys and Lucky U are too good to be true by the sound of this and other reviews but they are not! This was the best HipCamp or other campground we have EVER stayed at! We used the camper because the weather was cold, and loved it but would also come back and tent camp because of all the amenities! They have thought of everything…. Clean toilets, hot showers, a shared kitchen, even hot cocoa, coffee and mints. Fire pits with wood starters and wood, tables with tablecloths and campsites that are really spread out! The horses and donkeys come to share morning coffee with you and Rob/Mike take you on a leisurely farm tour with ample time for goat/pig/dog cuddling :) The best part of the place however, are the hosts themselves Their passion and enthusiasm for all creatures ( even is humans) is so evident. We wanted to move on with them! Their staff and they keep the place spotless…. Cannot brag on this place enough! There is SO much to do in the area, we went swimming with the manatees, kayaking on crystal clear rivers, hiking…..
but even if there was nothing at all to do…. Lucky U is worth the trip alone!!! They are not charging enough….. better than most Air B N Bs than we have been to!!!

1 night at Sandy Bottom River Retreat
Our party had a great time camping at the Rosie site. The camper was very clean and all amenities listed worked appropriately. The site itself was almost like a mini cul de sac with a completely private fire pit with enough room to pitch a tent as well. With your back to camper all you see is the fire and the woods, additionally your vehicle if parked at the site visually blocks the road making it seem even more private. Kira was a great host, she very quick to respond and accommodating. She also laid out all the information we needed very nicely and detailed which made reaching the site and using the camper a breeze. Overall it was a great site and I would definitely suggest it to anyone who wants to either try trailer camping or who is looking for that in the first.

Rob & Mike are exquisite human beings, who devote more love and attention to their campers, than many people do their children. We came with an over worked dad, two moms with way too much on their plates, and three stressed out teens. Within a few hours of being on this beautifully property surrounded by loving, affectionate animals, everyone was healing and happy. The RV and camp site was perfection. The “Pavilion” had everything a hotel guest could ever want. Coffee, towels, cute signs, and tons of personal attention were just the beginning of what these dedicated hosts offer their guests. Because of our busy schedule, they rearranged their busy schedules to accommodate us and gave us the chance to meet and love their amazing farm and animals. We loved the peaceful setting, the mass of stars overhead, the fact that we didn’t have to bring anything but ourselves and our food, and the precious visits by the horses and the donkey. Lucky U Ranch was more effective in healing, resetting, and bringing our family joy and peace, than spending thousands of dollars on therapy, and it did it 24 hours of time! We love these hosts and the sanctuary they have created for all those who need it! 🥰❤️😘

I loved it there! So quiet and peaceful. The camp ground is nostalgic and small. The bathroom and shower could use some help (to be honest), but the running water by the cabin seems to be well-water, cold, and very fresh. A quick well-water shower behind the cabin was refreshing and lovely. Centrally located to lots of area hiking and things to do. Historic Brooksville was adorable and I highly recommend having brunch at the Lazy Maid Creperie, voted #1 restaurant in Brooksville. I would definitely come back to this camp ground and utilize the cabin again. I also liked the primitive camp sites and only a short walk from parking. My entire experience was two thumbs up.

The campground sites are huge. The staff is amazing. The amenities are so clean. Robyn and Mike pay such attention to detail and offer intricate special details that I never would’ve thought of but thoroughly appreciate. The animals are a plus.

This was such a cute little spot. Theres a lot of supplies already there and we definitely overpacked! The bed and linens were clean and it was cold when we stayed, so the heated blanket was a plus. Definitely will stay again if in the area.

Definitely served our needs. Dona was easy to communicate with and the place was quaint and in a peaceful farm setting. The main bed was comfortable. The pullout perhaps less so, so maybe bear that in mind if you’re trying to sleep 4. But otherwise, found the place charming and wish we had more time for a farm tour.

We had a great time there, we used the camper on site and another camper spot next to it.
The sites are great. It’s private and surrounded by beautiful nature.
The horses came to visit us every morning.
The common area with kitchen and bathrooms is very well maintained. Bathrooms fully equipped with everything you’d need (from shampoo/ to towels and even a baby changer), and the complimentary coffee/hot chocolate makes us feel welcomed and appreciated.
You can see that Rob and Mike take really good care of everything and they care about their guests.
It’s definitely a special place!

Weekend Trip to The Olive Grove
Was a lovely stay at the Olive Grove! So friendly and was such a comfortable stay. Loved the little Aframe cabin and the fire pit beside. Location was close to anything you need. Watching the chickens and ducks run around was fun of course. Make sure to check out the little store for olive oils, vinegars, etc!

The cabin tent was fun.
The gift bag with fresh eggs, olive oil and soap was a very nice extra.
I recommend arriving before sunset because finding our accommodations in the dark was very confusing. However I called the host and she came out and guided us all the way.

We had a great time on the property and around the area. Rob and Mike are excellent hosts and have a great operation. They give a tour of the property on Saturdays so we got to see all the goats, stallions, miniature horses, geese and donkeys! The spots are spread out nicely and the bathroom/shower area are top notch for an outdoor setting! The little touches do not go unnoticed. We stayed in the RV they have availabile and boy were we happy with it since some rain showers decided to come along on our trip.
We look forward to coming back sometime. Thanks Rob and Mike!
