There is a Dollar General, a gas station and a small cafe within walking distance. We have 38 acres of camping sites nature trails for hiking and mountain biking. Guests can park right on their site, or they have the option of parking and hiking into the woods to set up their site a bit more remote and off the beaten path. This is rustic camping. We have a bathhouse located at the campsites with showers. The bathhouse at the Great Lodge hereas we do have garbage cans, we prefer that anything you bring into the property, you bring out with you. We allow campfires. Don't be surprised if you see a monkey or two in the trees... The fishing is amazing in these parts, so if you are an angler, come and visit. We have .75 miles of frontage on the Orange Creek. The creek flows into Lake Ocklawaha which just so happens to be one of the best bass fishing lakes in the USA. In fact, ten-pound bass are not uncommon from the Lake Ocklawaha River in the winter. Recently (2020), a 17.2-pound bass was caught there. The combined Ocklawaha and St. Johns drainage basin is possibly the most significant river-estuary waterway of Florida. This water system is of legendary reputation among anglers of largemouth bass who seek 10 pound plus trophy fish. Conveniently located between Ocala and Gainesville in the heart of Orange Springs, Florida, Camp Seminole Spring is perfectly located for the traveler who wants to really connect with nature. It appears to be ‘off the beaten path’, yet it is close enough to civilization so that even the most seasoned camper can make a quick run to store should he or she need something not found in nature. Camp Seminole Spring is mid-way (approx.. 22 miles) between Ocala and Gainesville, Florida, which are two thriving cities in this area of Florida. Ocala, the ‘horse capital of the world’ showcases a brand new multi-billion-dollar equestrian center which draws people from all over the world. This scenic property has an artesian spring which pushes out 1.6 million gallons of water per day rated among the top three percent of water in the world with an 8.4 natural pH. This water fills the pond and then continues on to flow into Orange Creek. Camp Seminole Springs was established in the 1940’s as a honeymoon resort and campground. The founders built a heart-shaped ‘pond-spring’ which is filled with the crystal-clear water pushed out from the spring where guests can lounge by the beach or gaze down into the bottom through the glass-like water or take a refreshing swim. At the top of the hill overlooking the heart-shaped spring, one will find the rustic Great Lodge where guests can come and mingle with each other, enjoy a relaxing conversation and a drink on the veranda or just sit and watch the activity in and around the spring.

Guests can park right on their site, or they have the option of parking and hiking into the woods to set up their site a bit more remote and off the beaten path. This is rustic camping. We have a bathhouse located at the campsites with showers. The bathhouse at the Great Lodge hereas we do have garbage cans, we prefer that anything you bring into the property, you bring out with you. We allow campfires. Don't be surprised if you see a monkey or two in the trees... The fishing is amazing in these parts, so if you are an angler, come and visit. We have .75 miles of frontage on the Orange Creek. The creek flows into Lake Ocklawaha which just so happens to be one of the best bass fishing lakes in the USA. In fact, ten-pound bass are not uncommon from the Lake Ocklawaha River in the winter. Recently (2020), a 17.2-pound bass was caught there. The combined Ocklawaha and St. Johns drainage basin is possibly the most significant river-estuary waterway of Florida. This water system is of legendary reputation among anglers of largemouth bass who seek 10 pound plus trophy fish. Conveniently located between Ocala and Gainesville in the heart of Orange Springs, Florida, Camp Seminole Spring is perfectly located for the traveler who wants to really connect with nature. It appears to be ‘off the beaten path’, yet it is close enough to civilization so that even the most seasoned camper can make a quick run to store should he or she need something not found in nature. Camp Seminole Spring is mid-way (approx.. 22 miles) between Ocala and Gainesville, Florida, which are two thriving cities in this area of Florida. Ocala, the ‘horse capital of the world’ showcases a brand new multi-billion-dollar equestrian center which draws people from all over the world. This scenic property has an artesian spring which pushes out 1.6 million gallons of water per day rated among the top three percent of water in the world with an 8.4 natural pH. This water fills the pond and then continues on to flow into Orange Creek. Camp Seminole Springs was established in the 1940’s as a honeymoon resort and campground. The founders built a heart-shaped ‘pond-spring’ which is filled with the crystal-clear water pushed out from the spring where guests can lounge by the beach or gaze down into the bottom through the glass-like water or take a refreshing swim. Welcome to a sweet and soulful little piece of the woodlands. Tucked in on 4.5 acres, this spot is a secluded, enchanting piece of old Florida. Stay in one of our three designated camping sites, tie up a hammock, gaze at the pond inhabitants****, and check out what's growing in the seasonal garden. Also enjoy the many flowering plants and other special trees. Florida's gem-colored, healing spring waters are just a 20 minutes up the way and local retreat centers and yoga studios dot the area. Gator fans? Head into Gainesville for a game and to visit the University of Florida. Mostly, enjoy. We look forward to hosting you! To note for all guests: We suggest arriving before dark so as to make set up easy and comfortable. We do not require a formal check-in and encourage being self-reliable in set up of primitive campsites. (For something with more structure and a space already set up, check out our Aframe cabin.) Absolutely beautiful site!!! The site was well kept and everything the photos portrayed. Lindsay was an absolute pleasure to deal with, she was very prompt answering messages. On my trip I ended up having a mechanical issue and was going to be later than the 11am checkout time, she said no problem and to take my time. This will be my go to spot whenever I go camping up there. Thank you!!

A buddy and I truck camped on campsite 1 here in early March. There were no skeeters and the night time temperatures were excellent. I like that the camp spaces have generous room. The bathrooms were a nice surprise and well kept. Everything was first class. We will come here again when the river rises.

The camp has a good feel and it's laid out really well. There are eating and socializing areas . A huge firepit. There are pots and pans for cooking, a washing station for after meals, a shower that supplies almost instant hot water, a composting toilet. The various camp spots are placed at a good distance apart. This campground seems to have all the amenities, but for the life of me I couldn't understand why I was the only camper there for the 4 nights of my stay. I suppose there are street noises, since it is very close to a neighborhood. And there are vocal frogs and barking dogs occasionally, but that didn't really bother me. There is a good coverage of trees, and supposedly there are workshops and events beyond the camping area, but I didn't see anything posted, and I wasn't sure if that was something that you signed up for, or what, so I didn't feel very comfortable venturing beyond the camping area. But honestly, I kind of enjoyed having such a cool campground to myself. Very nice stay, and thank you too the hostess.

We had a great stay! It was very quiet which we enjoyed. The trails are beautiful. There’s a great walk around the lake. It seems they are in transition from old management (KOA) to new management. Didn’t bother us at all. Showers weren’t the cleanest. You could tell the maintenance guy had a lot going on. Overall enjoyed and was good for the price.

I really loved camping at the FOLC farm. The camp site is well forested and relaxing to be in the shade. The toilet/sink/shower/tables are well maintained, very comfortable and clean. The location is wonderful for visiting Gainsville and there are extensive hiking and biking trails only a block away. Everyone was kind and helpful but at the camp site we could be alone which was great.

It’s hard to put into words how my camping experience was at Blackwater Ranch Campground… serene, relaxing. Three days wasn’t enough, so I extended it two more days and I had the campground to myself the whole time, just me and my doggie and he didn’t have to be on a leash. The host was awesome! He welcomed me and gave me a complementary bundle of wood to get me started. I came to rejuvenate myself and I’m so incredibly sad to leave! But I’m sure anyone would be sad leaving here to go back to Minnesota 😭. It was such a blessing. I recommend it to everyone! The perfect little getaway! White sand beaches along the river. Nice little walking paths in the woods. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This was our third trip out here. We usually book one of the larger sites, but this one was perfect for a weekend with my son. Site #2 is simple, quiet, and private. Easy drive up access. Plenty of room for a tent and a solid fire setup. The river access is the highlight. Calm water. Clean shoreline. Great spot for morning coffee and winding down at night. If you are bringing a larger group, book one of the bigger sites on the property. For two people, this one is dialed in. Host communication was clear and consistent as always. We will be back.

Man let me tell you ! The view and all of the things they have for u to add to your trip or to play with was the best part , the rentals are spaced out so your not stacked ontop of each other , the noise isn’t loud at all you can hear the cars driving at night and the neighbors shooting in the morning lol I liked it .. but all the small town store and nice people in those towns make up for it ! Our fav breakfast spot was hobos ! Pretty dang good ! 10/10 host and rental sight we have three dogs and they made it very easy for us to have privacy and room for our animals without a negative experience, we have a reactive pup so a private space was very much needed ! I recommend the water and electric hook up sight for us that was the perfect view and easy for us to hose down our tent to keep out pups cool Will be back again ! 10/10 experience fishing was okay need to come back when river is higher but the host had great advice to fish !

The information our host Jeff graciously shared with us upon arrival was invaluable. The parking spot was private, ample and level. The neighborhood was very peaceful and so convenient to historic St. Augustine and the beach. We loved our stay at Happy Hideaway and definitely recommend it to other happy campers.
