The host lives on the homestead and is available if you need assistance. Please note: The five tent sites are within the campground circle where no cars are allowed for camper safety. The parking area is within 150 feet (45 meters) of the various sites, and a cart is available to move your gear. Sites are 25–50 feet (8–15 meters) apart. I really loved camping at the FOLC farm. The camp site is well forested and relaxing to be in the shade. The toilet/sink/shower/tables are well maintained, very comfortable and clean. The location is wonderful for visiting Gainsville and there are extensive hiking and biking trails only a block away. Everyone was kind and helpful but at the camp site we could be alone which was great.

It’s hard to put into words how my camping experience was at Blackwater Ranch Campground… serene, relaxing. Three days wasn’t enough, so I extended it two more days and I had the campground to myself the whole time, just me and my doggie and he didn’t have to be on a leash. The host was awesome! He welcomed me and gave me a complementary bundle of wood to get me started. I came to rejuvenate myself and I’m so incredibly sad to leave! But I’m sure anyone would be sad leaving here to go back to Minnesota 😭. It was such a blessing. I recommend it to everyone! The perfect little getaway! White sand beaches along the river. Nice little walking paths in the woods. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This was our third trip out here. We usually book one of the larger sites, but this one was perfect for a weekend with my son. Site #2 is simple, quiet, and private. Easy drive up access. Plenty of room for a tent and a solid fire setup. The river access is the highlight. Calm water. Clean shoreline. Great spot for morning coffee and winding down at night. If you are bringing a larger group, book one of the bigger sites on the property. For two people, this one is dialed in. Host communication was clear and consistent as always. We will be back.

I absolutely loved this spot! It’s so tranquil and beautiful. We brought our small 20 foot camper, and we had no problems with any of the hook ups. This campground is incredibly well kept, and peaceful. The bathrooms, the outdoor showers, and the trash area were very clean. The cabin looks absolutely adorable. Big shoutout to Mr. Tim for letting our five year old son check out his tractor. This one of the nicest spots we’ve found so far and will most definitely be staying here again!

I have been on the road for 2 months and I needed a break. I booked two nights and it was exactly what I was expecting. I can't describe the tranquility. I stayed in the back lot which had the perfect amount of privacy. I had a view of the farm, a pond and forest. It was so peaceful. I enjoyed walking with my dog around the lot and over to see the goats and chickens. I wish the weather had cooperated because the nights were overcast but I am certain the view of the stars is amazing. It is so close to all the Saint Augustine attractions...I mean less than 10 minutes to 95 and downtown but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The host was very accommodating and gave me several suggestions for local activities. The other thing I want to mention is how safe I felt. I am a solo female traveler and I felt so safe I slept with my back doors of my van open...all night. I plan on staying here again.
