The FOLC Farm (Florida Outdoor Learning Collective) is a homestead, outdoor learning center, and community event space in Gainesville, FL. Situated on 5 wooded acres, The FOLC Farm is only minutes from downtown Gainesville and the University of Florida by car or bike trail, and within walking distance of Payne's Prairie State Park La Chua Trail, Boulware Spring, Sweetwater Preserve trail system, and the Hawthorne bike trail. Guests are welcome at the occasional public social events held onsite (separate from the campground). At The FOLC Farm, you will find the perfect blend of nature, culture, and convenience. At the entrance of the property is a self-contained, family-friendly campground with nine non-electric sites (five tent sites and four car camping sites). You may also rent the entire campground for your private group (usually $300 on weekends, $200 on weekdays — please message to inquire). At the campground, you have access to a shared campfire, picnic tables, grill, composting toilet, sink with running water, shower with hot water, changing room, and some art supplies and games to enjoy during your stay. The host lives on the homestead and is available if you need assistance. Please note: The five tent sites are within the campground circle where no cars are allowed for camper safety. The parking area is within 150 feet (45 meters) of the various sites, and a cart is available to move your gear. Sites are 25–50 feet (8–15 meters) apart. Dogs are not allowed for the safety and comfort of other campers. If your private group is renting the whole campground, you may bring a leashed pet when it is not in your tent or van. If you are looking for a single private campsite far from town, this is not for you. However, if you would like to experience a campground on a working homestead and learning center, with the ability to interact with other guests if you wish, while still being conveniently close to downtown and trail systems, this is a great fit. This wooded 5-acre property is very close to thousands of acres of state park land and also adjacent to a rural/suburban neighborhood. Therefore, you can expect to hear both typical neighborhood sounds (cars, children) as well as wildlife such as Barred Owls, Sandhill Cranes, and occasional deer visits.

We do have water, a composting toilet, sink, and groundtemp shower for your use. *****Due to severe drought this year, we have lost the pond. We are still open for camping, but please note the pond is not as pictured. Thanks for your understanding during this tough time for our water table.******

Osceola National Forest is 200,000 acres of exploration with your name on it! In the northeastern Floridian forest, pine flatwoods and cypress-hardwood swamps surround, with diverse wildlife abound. In this leafy paradise lives gopher tortoises (they act like gophers, but are tortoises!), alligators, black bears, and the skunk ape, also known as the “stink ape,” which bears an uncanny resemblance to bigfoot. Areas of recreation include Ocean Pond--a fave place for boaters, skiiers, and campers, and Olustee Beach for swimming, fishing, and picnicking. The park is also open to hunters and fishermen with permits. With so much land to explore in this National Forest, we wouldn’t be surprised if bigfoot was hiding in there!

Ocala, the ‘horse capital of the world’ showcases a brand new multi-billion-dollar equestrian center which draws people from all over the world. This scenic property has an artesian spring which pushes out 1.6 million gallons of water per day rated among the top three percent of water in the world with an 8.4 natural pH. This water fills the pond and then continues on to flow into Orange Creek. Camp Seminole Springs was established in the 1940’s as a honeymoon resort and campground. The founders built a heart-shaped ‘pond-spring’ which is filled with the crystal-clear water pushed out from the spring where guests can lounge by the beach or gaze down into the bottom through the glass-like water or take a refreshing swim. At the top of the hill overlooking the heart-shaped spring, one will find the rustic Great Lodge where guests can come and mingle with each other, enjoy a relaxing conversation and a drink on the veranda or just sit and watch the activity in and around the spring.

Welcome to a sweet and soulful little piece of the woodlands. Tucked in on 4.5 acres, this spot is a secluded, enchanting piece of old Florida. Stay in one of our three designated camping sites, tie up a hammock, gaze at the pond inhabitants****, and check out what's growing in the seasonal garden. Also enjoy the many flowering plants and other special trees. Florida's gem-colored, healing spring waters are just a 20 minutes up the way and local retreat centers and yoga studios dot the area. Gator fans? Head into Gainesville for a game and to visit the University of Florida. Mostly, enjoy. We look forward to hosting you! To note for all guests: We suggest arriving before dark so as to make set up easy and comfortable. We do not require a formal check-in and encourage being self-reliable in set up of primitive campsites. (For something with more structure and a space already set up, check out our Aframe cabin.) We do have water, a composting toilet, sink, and groundtemp shower for your use.

Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape on 20 acres of serene rural land. Take a walk to the chicken coop and hear all of the chickens' opinions. Lay a blanket out in the meditation corner and enjoy the peace and quiet. Walk through the fruit trees and past the blackberries and take any ripe fruit of your liking. Explore the ranch to locate gopher tortoise burrows (but don't get too close) and wave at all the fox squirrels. Find the northeast corner of the ranch and play volleyball with your friends (let us know if you need a ball). Stroll through the round-pen-turned-garden and check out the Datil pepper plants which we use to make our datil sauce and datil vinegar (both are for sale to guests). Finally, enjoy the starry night sky. Thanks to our rural setting we have some of the darkest skies in Florida. There is an observatory only one mile away! Wildflower Ranch is close to dozens of crystal clear natural springs and rivers, bike trails, hiking trails, state parks, and more. We are ideally located in North Central Florida, so many of your Florida outdoor bucket list adventures are within reach. The ranch is a close neighbor of Devil's Den Prehistoric Spring, the Blue Grotto, Black Prong horse riding and biking trails, Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens and more. Wildflower Ranch offers two private primitive campsites (accommodating tents or vehicles), one private RV site, and one private cabin. Our cabin has a private bathroom, while our campsites have 24/7 access to climate-controlled full bathrooms with hot water showers, flushing toilets, and sinks.

The creek flows into Lake Ocklawaha which just so happens to be one of the best bass fishing lakes in the USA. In fact, ten-pound bass are not uncommon from the Lake Ocklawaha River in the winter. Recently (2020), a 17.2-pound bass was caught there. The combined Ocklawaha and St. Johns drainage basin is possibly the most significant river-estuary waterway of Florida. This water system is of legendary reputation among anglers of largemouth bass who seek 10 pound plus trophy fish. Conveniently located between Ocala and Gainesville in the heart of Orange Springs, Florida, Camp Seminole Spring is perfectly located for the traveler who wants to really connect with nature. It appears to be ‘off the beaten path’, yet it is close enough to civilization so that even the most seasoned camper can make a quick run to store should he or she need something not found in nature. Camp Seminole Spring is mid-way (approx.. 22 miles) between Ocala and Gainesville, Florida, which are two thriving cities in this area of Florida.
