The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Highly recommend! Super convenient and well-equipped! My husband and I had a great experience at this campsite. The amenities were surprisingly complete: a mini barn with clean toilet, plenty of toilet paper, hot water, a fridge, a microwave and even a heater, which is a huge plus for us (we had some freezing nights during our stay). The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The location is also fantastic - it’s very close to the nearby state park. Donna’s recommendation of the restaurants and cafe are also great! Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay! Will definitely come back!

Had a great 2 days staying in our rv at Jerry’s spot with 5 kids (4 being teenagers). Loved having the dock area to fish from, launch our paddle boards. Was nice to be able to tie up our boards and leave them on the water inside the dock slip area. Plenty of space for everyone to roam. The wash sink is a nice bonus I didn’t realize I needed in my life of camping lol. Best part we saw a momma and baby manatee swim by as we were hanging on the dock.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time camping here! It was very private and quiet. The views of the stars were amazing! This would be a perfect spot to watch a meteor shower. Tom gave us a tour of his property and let us feed some of his cute sheep and highland cows! Tom was a great host; he let us check out later because no one was camping behind us and was fun to talk to. We went to High Springs for dinner and coffee and that town is so cute! I was so impressed by the restaurant selection; I’m vegetarian and there were plenty of options for me. We especially enjoyed Colsie Coffee and Serendipity. The locals were extremely nice and we had great chats with many of them. We would definitely camp here again!

Amazing place w a lot of room to roam. The sinkhole is an unreal little oasis for swimming with a little area to hang out w a fire pit. Words really don’t do the property justice. Absolutely will be back soon.

Looking south from the Blazing Star campsite offers views of the main homestead and the Senna cabin.

2 nights at Secluded Wooded Campsite 🏕️

Campsite is exactly as described in post. I would defiantly stay again it was safe and the site was clean and well maintained. There was an electric cord and outhouse and a water hose which were very helpful. This is a very reasonably priced safe spot to stay while exploring all the near by springs.

Weekend Trip to Glenn Farm

Tom and Judy were very hospitable and flexible, even when it came to making modifications in our party size. There were 9 of us and we had a great time at arrowhead sink. The sink itself was awesome, we spent a good portion of our time down there (bring some hiking shoes because it’s a steep decline to get into the sink and it’s a little wet and muddy). The location isn’t too far from a gas station and there is even an area with food trucks. Lots of fun!

Weekend Trip to Secluded Wooded Campsite 🏕️

I loved this secluded spot. The directions given were spot on and we made it right to the camp site. William and his wife were very responsive and friendly with a great sense of humor. There were toiletries in the out house as well as a nice grill rack to put over the fire pit for cooking. The area was very clean and we had a long extension cord with power to fill up our air mattresses. There was also a hose for clean water. They provided lots of firewood for us to have a supply that lasted us the entire weekend during our stay. We rented kayaks from them and asked them for a gator free water suggestions to go on our adventure. They suggested rum island. Rum island was quite fun and full of lots of friendly people out there Tubing, paddle boarding, kayaking and even boating. The scenery was quite pleasant. This place was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be coming back in the near future!
