This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers. From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting. Weekend Trip to Manatee Delight RV Camp Site

We can’t say enough about this beautiful property on 7 acres. You feel enclosed in the woods with lots of privacy. Grounds were perfect. A little tricky backing in, but just take your time and you can manage it. It is priced under market. Making it affordable for most families and a great value. I hope Kate, the owner never sells this gem. It is a property of a lifetime. Springs are bubbling up all around the property. It is located at the end of one of the river’s many private tributaries offering tons of privacy with little boat traffic, I will never forget the experience at this camping site. I would love going back someday and staying longer. Just a note; there is no dock to tie a boat up. So you have to figure out another way to use your boat if you have one. There are public ramps within 5 miles. Swimming and kayaking is available on site.

Such a tranquil and well kept site. The team that meet you on arrival are super friendly. The sites are easy to navigate. The best part for us with kids, was the fire pit on the river, which they load with wood daily plus the social house, when the weather turns bad or the bugs come out we could go in and play pool, darts, games or watch football. Cannot say enough good things about this place!!

The spot is perfect. Lots of room and easy to back into. I have a 42' 5th wheel and no problem. The hosts are super nice and everything is easy to hookup. It is also a quiet neighborhood and friendly neighbors. Nice place to walk around in the evenings. Bugs are bad cause by the river, but hey it's Florida so that's like everywhere. Also less than 10 mins from an awesome bike and hiking trail, Nature Coast Trail, which will take to neighboring towns and several springs to gk check out. I will stay again if we come back to the area

Great spot for kayaking and enjoying the local nature. Spot was a great fit for our 28ft camper with one slide out. Make sure you have 50amp hook ups as we forgot the 30/50 conversion and had to get it from tractor supply last min but thats my fault. This beautiful space is a diamond for sure. This place will not disappoint.
