Cypress Landing RV Park is a family-oriented, locally-owned RV park that sits on the shores of beautiful Gantt Lake in South Alabama. The lake is approximately 2,700 acres in size with 21 miles of shoreline. We absolutely loved our stay at Hidden Oak RV 1 at Brinn Farm.
This is one of those rare places where the photos are beautiful — but the experience is even better in person.
The site sits beside a stocked pond under a massive live oak, surrounded by wooded acreage. After check-in, we didn’t see another person the entire stay. It truly feels private, peaceful, and tucked away.
The hosts were outstanding. We received a full orientation when we arrived, and they checked in by text during our stay to make sure everything was going well. You can tell they genuinely care about their property and their guests.
The site itself is spacious and level. Full hookups worked perfectly, and everything was excellently maintained.
What really sets this place apart is the natural soundscape. At night we heard coyotes in the distance and frogs near the pond. During the day, birds at sunrise, fish jumping in the water, and even cows and peacocks off in the distance. It’s immersive in a way that’s hard to capture in photos.
I needed to work remotely one day, and my Starlink mini worked flawlessly — so it’s a great option if you need to blend work with a quiet retreat.
If you’re looking for privacy, nature, and thoughtful hosts, this is an exceptional Hipcamp and I would not hesitate to book it. We will absolutely stay again.

Our camping experience was awesome. Patrick’s Dad Pat met us at the entrance to the property and led us to a beautiful secluded spot. He also drove me around property to get me acquainted to the many acres available for walks. The property was extremely well maintained. It was renewing to have such a quiet property to enjoy walks, fishing (if interested) and star gazing. Everything as far as hookups was easy and we so enjoyed listening to birds, reading and relaxing. No cell service or WiFi but you will not miss it if you want to enjoy nature and solitude. We definitely would return for future visits.

Lots of room for our 36 foot fifth wheel and truck. Easy in and out access. The utilities are as stated. It is basically in a back yard setting. It was nice to have our camper covered. I found it a little more crowded than what the pictures showed. But I would definitely stay there again.

This campground has way more to offer than they advertise. It is a diamond in the rough. It is ocean front with a pool and a hot tub. They have a clubhouse with daily activities and programs and we even had a bowl of chili one night. It is quaint and their are long term as well as short term renters there. The bath house is small but clean. There is even a family bath which is good if you have kids with you. There is a dog park and play ground. It has alot to offer.

Very nice site! Covered is a nice plus in the Florida heat/sun! Full hook up including sewer! Wayne is a great host and answers any questions very quickly. Site is quiet, and convenient to our activities across the bay (we went into Miramar Beach/Destin). We plan to stay here again! Highly recommend this site!

Everything was super clean, the laundry room was perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the activities they planned daily. We really enjoyed the outdoor movie night looking out over the water. The highlight of the trip was putting our kayaks in the water right from the campground and watching the sunset out on the water. The camp store was stocked with anything we might need and the beach was only a short drive. We will definitely return.

Definitely will be back again!! Patrick met us and helped us get all setup and made sure everything was good before leaving. Had the best time, so peaceful and private. Never left the site. Caught small bass and beautiful bream. Seen deer and lots of ducks. If you are looking for a restful and private retreat then this is the spot for sure!!

Wayne was a great host and takes good care of the property. The covered parking is bigger in person and leaves plenty of room for outdoor picnicking next to your trailer rain or shine. Being able to pull through in and out was very nice. Also there's almost no light pollution so the stars really come out at night!

This was a great place to stay! Being undercover was a huge benefit in Florida with the rain and the heat. Wayne provided a new picnic table and a patio style fireplace. I didn't get to use the fireplace but there was wood available for free. Wayne answered all of my questions very quickly and was very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hipcamp

Crestview Surrounds
The Yellow and Shoal rivers both border Crestview, with their confluence just south of town. The nearby Yellow River Water Management Area has boat launches for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing access. Crestview—and DeFuniak Springs, further east—both have multiple RV parks and RV resorts with full hookups and wifi for campers to choose from.
Blackwater River State Park
At Blackwater River State Park, you can paddle or float down the lush Blackwater River at a leisurely pace, enjoying its many sand beaches. Kayak, canoe, and tube rentals are available on-site. There’s also a campground with RV and tent sites featuring picnic tables, fire rings, and full hookups.
Ponce De Leon Springs State Park
Although not open for camping, you can swim or snorkel year-round in crystal-clear 68°F spring water at Ponce De Leon Springs State Park, just 45 minutes east of Crestview.
Gulf Shore Beaches
The Emerald Coast section of the Gulf of Mexico is due south of Crestview. Henderson Beach State Park, Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, and Grayton Beach State Park are all excellent beach parks with campgrounds in this area. For day trips, the Gulf Islands National Seashore’s Santa Rosa Area, including the Opal Beach Complex, is also an excellent choice.
When to go
Crestview has great fall, winter, and spring camping. Winters tend to be the busiest camping season, when camping reservations should be made early. With high temps, high humidity, and high precipitation—not to mention hurricane season on the Gulf Coast—summer tent camping is a challenge in Crestview.
