Our family rented out 2 yurts for our sons birthday and we had an amazing time! Amanda was attentive and kind (as was her sweet fur baby, Bella) Our yurt was clean and well maintained. We had everything we needed to make our "glamping" trip a success and we look forward to making more memories there soon!

Malakai’s Campground is truly a hidden gem! The property is peaceful, secure, and beautifully maintained. Joe, the host, is a wonderful man—kind, hospitable, and always willing to lend a hand. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure every guest has a great experience. I’m a local and ended up staying here two weekends in a row while my house was being used for Airbnb guests. Normally, I’d travel elsewhere, but this time I wanted to stay close to home—and I’m so glad I did. From now on, this will be my go-to spot whenever I want to unwind and enjoy something different from the usual beach life. Highly recommend this campground for a relaxing, memorable stay—and my two pups 🐶🐶 give it their full approval too!

Weekend Trip to Near Downtown and the Beach!

Rae was a super host. Met us shortly after we set up and provided a booklet of things to do and eat in the area. Driveway is a little difficult to back into and sewer connection in under the camper but was a great place to spend the day/night. 30 amp electric worked great. I would not recommend for a large camper as our 26’ just fit. Would definitely stay again.

What a great spot with plenty of room to park and close to everything. 5 min walk to beautiful lake powell for fishing . Best beach in PCB is laguna beach and your 5 minute drive away. Brian the host is very nice and always available for any questions. The site is very nice and safe. Don't hesitate book it... you will love sand between your toes!!

Glamping in Paradise is a gem! The site is well appointed; we were surprised to find many amenities and thoughtful touches. Our stay endured chilly nights, warm days, and a quick downpour - no worries here with the fireplace, A/C and fan, and thick tent. The lights outside were so cozy at night and we enjoyed looking at all the plants. Host was communicative and quick to respond to app messages during our stay. A unique and enjoyable camping (glamping) experience!

We have a nice little RV pad on the back of our coastal home. Situated on a little bayou that opens out into Choctawhatchee Bay. Crab Island is only a 10 minute boat ride away. You would have access to our small dock and there is a neighborhood boat ramp less than one hundred feet away. This is a great place for kayaks, wave runners, and small boats. If you don't have a boat, we can set up any kind of trip you want. We are all licensed captains and own multiple Crab Island businesses. So we can set up charters for you on the following boats: Sailing trip on a restored 1963 Pearson Ensign. Can accommodate up to 6 people. This is a classic sailboat that is easy to sail and easy to learn to sail. A restored 1966 Boston Whaler that is perfect for couples looking for a sunset cruise, etc. Can accommodate up to 6 people but it perfect for 2 -4. We can go to Crab Island, look for dolphins or find our own private island beach. Waverunner tours. We can take you on a guided wave runner tour looking for dolphins and private beaches. You will drive one wave runner while our licensed captain guided you on another one. Insurance does not allow us to rent these out solo but there are many good vendors in the area to do that. Inshore flats skiff targeting redfish and trout on light spinning gear and fly rods. This boat is best fished with no more than 3 people. Rates: $150 per hour for less than 3 hours $500 for half day (4 hours) $600 for 6 hours The neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Walton with large oaks and magnolias providing plenty of shade for bike riding and walking. Downtown Fort Walton with its shops and quaint restaurants is only a mile away. Didn't bring a bike, we have 2 you can use. During the summer, there are fireworks every Wednesday night that are viewable from this spot. The site comes with water/sewer and 30 Amp hookup. The sight can accommodate up to 43' for trailer and vehicle.

Sugar-white sands and crystal-clear waters draw visitors to this park near Destin in the Florida Panhandle. Besides basking in the sun on the shoreline and swimming in the warm Gulf waters, you can take a short hike along a nature trail with views of the coastal dune ecosystem and abundant wildlife, or grab a paddleboard to explore the Emerald Coast from the water—look out for tropical fish, dolphins, and even sea turtles. Henderson Beach Campground has 60 campsites that accommodate tents and RVs, all connected to the beach via a boardwalk.

Tips for snagging a campsite

Reservations can be made at the Florida State Parks website or by phone. Florida residents can make campsite reservations 11 months in advance, while non-residents can make reservations 10 months in advance.
As this is a very popular park, booking in advance is recommended. Florida State Park campsites are almost always in high demand, so move quickly, especially in summer.
If you can’t secure your preferred dates, keep checking. Spots sometimes open up as others’ plans change.

When to go

Summer is peak season, and, while this is the best time to visit due to the warm water, it gets very busy. If planning a summer visit, try to make reservations as far in advance as possible. Otherwise, opting for spring or fall promises more availability and fewer crowds. You’ll enjoy sunny weather almost any time of year—temperatures typically run in the 80s in summer and in the 50s and 60s in winter.

Know before you go

Summertime brings long entry lines during peak hours, from 10am to 3pm. When the park reaches maximum capacity, it briefly closes and reopens when sufficient space is available.
An all-terrain beach wheelchair is available.
All pets must be on a six-foot leash and continuously attended. Pets are not allowed on the beach, boardwalks, playground, or in any buildings.

Henderson Beach Campground

I stayed at Henderson Campground for one night late-May and the beach didn't feel overcrowded yet it wasn't so sparse that I felt like I was early to the party. Despite the close proximity to the highway (it's RIGHT there) I felt somewhat secluded thanks to dense foliage and campers-only beach access. You get clean bathrooms, laundry facilities and there is a short nature trail that leads to the beach. Plaques with different facts about the flora and fauna are scattered throughout the walk and there are spots to lock up your bike. There are only two tent camping sites so this books up fast. The campsite is dog-friendly, however dogs are not allowed on the beach. The only downside is I could hear cars passing on the highway at night.
