The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house. When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here. We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site. We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same. It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property. We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped. Our property has provided many happy gatherings and events and we love to share it with others. Let us know if there is anything special we can help provide for you. Come visit Mickleberry!!! Learn more about this land: Thank you to all the wonderful friends we have met through this amazing program. Please continue to get outside and enjoy all the beautiful places and spaces this world has to offer and keep in touch.  We love you all!  Thank you for your support!   Bill and Amy  Enjoy your stay next to our edible forest garden on the Edge of a beautiful meadow along side the orchard of berries, nuts  and fruit trees.  Various seasons will offer you an opportunity to pick your own breakfast in our maturing establishment.   You can enjoy exploring, and examining our 7 year permacultuire food forest with chestnut seedlings already tall enough to climb , 10-foot hazels bearing buckets of nuts and a different selection of raspberries, blackberries, gooseberry, currents, golden berries, service berries and Mulberries.      Enjoy a stroll   through the meadow trail to breath in  morning views and evening fireflies and stars.  This camp area is very private but household amenities are not far away if desired.  This site is much more private than Mickelberry Forest Garden Site and the beautiful mountain view is only a small step away.  One mile away we offer nearby blue mark trails, mountain biking, lake and outdoor activities are at your fingertips and your hosts will be happy to provide any assistance needed to find or enjoy these opportunities.  The Creamery (Ferris Acres) is one of the best farm ice cream shops in the East.  We can provide breakfast upon request from our free range chickens on our kiwi lined deck with beautiful mountain views.     Come and enjoy the croak of the bullfrog and the sound of the crickets.  We are new and growing our amenities so at this time check the overview for available amenities but you can guarantee we won't disappoint.  Come visit Mickelberry Forest Garden and The Meadow's Edge our newest most private site!!!

This isn’t wilderness camping, but rather a unique opportunity to experience a beautiful, peaceful, elevated farm experience while enjoying the outdoors. All campers must be age 21 and over. You’ll have a reserved camp spot with easy access to the meadows perfect for leisurely walks, and simply taking in the fresh country air and sounds. Your reservation includes a bundle of firewood w/2 firestarters/night, s'mores kits/night and a welcome bag upon arrival. Guests have 24/7 access to our barn flush toilet and sink during your stay. ETA required and checkout is 10am. Early/Late Checkout can be selected in app. On cloudless nights, dark skies provide a stunning stargazing experience, or during a full moon experience an amazing evening in our own magical valley within the Hudson Valley. As an active seasonal organic farm, you may see and hear livestock, farm machinery, cars, and other people coming and going during your stay. We ask campers to be mindful of these normal farm operations while enjoying the scenic views. During the summer prepare for a magical display of fireflies, which light up the meadows and pond area, creating an incredible summer experience. This is a pack it in/pack it out property - all trash and recycling must be removed by campers when they depart. All guests must be registered on the Hipcamp app prior to arrival. We limit the number of campers and vehicles at each site both for peacefulness, ecological and practical (septic system) reasons. This is not a campground and we do not permit generators or heavy-duty dual rear-wheel (DRW) wheeled vehicles. We are located adjacent to the Mid-County Rod and Gun Club, a 1500 acre property which has outdoor sport shooting on occasion that can be heard on our property. We live in a rural area and cannot guarantee that you won’t hear similar or other noise like ATVs, machinery from properties nearby, roosters, peacocks, and wildlife - this is country life! Come reconnect with nature in a beautiful setting with the beauty of rolling meadows, and the calming pond as your backdrop. Wake up to singing birds, walk the meadows with your morning cup of coffee or chill with our chickens :)

Always working on improvements! My second glamping site "The Medieval Encampment", is available for booking starting April 1st of 2025. I will have more pictures soon. In April of 2024, my long awaited 1st Glamping site was available for booking. It's been very popular! Please read the description carefully of the "Gypsy Rose Vardo", to see if it's the right fit for you. I also have 10 large camping sites available on our 33 acre property located in Northwest NJ. Sites 1 through 4 are on mowed, fairly level fields and are large enough for campers or RV's up to 30ft, or a couple of tents, and sites 5 and 6 are further back in the woods, available only for a few small tents, sites 7 through 10 are much further into the property and are only accessible with a high clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or you can park and hike your gear in. There are 3 compost toilet outhouses spread out through the property, so it's an easy walking distance from any site. Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear, coyote or raccoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. There are two reservoirs within a 20-minute drive for canoeing or kayaking. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten-minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

Three Years of Campfires, Stories, and Friendships 🔥⛺ As I look back on the past three years since opening the campground, I’m filled with gratitude. What started as a dream has turned into something so much more thanks to each and every one of you who has stayed here, shared your stories, and brought your energy to this little piece of the outdoors. I’ve had the joy of meeting people from all walks of life travelers passing through, families on vacation, solo adventurers chasing peace, and seasoned RVers with tales from the road. Whether you’re here for one night or one season, getting to know where you’re from, where you’re going, and the stories in between has been the most rewarding part of running this campground. It’s not just about providing a place to park or pitch a tent it’s about building a community, even if it’s just for a weekend. The laughs around the fire, the kindness between strangers, and the shared love of the outdoors have made this journey incredibly special. Thank you for being part of it. Here’s to many more years of connection, conversation, and campfire memories. 🌲 Sincerely, Ronald Markeveys Pegasus Farms LLC

Enjoy 33 acres of rolling land, complete with wide expanses of lawn, two vegetable fields, extensive woodlands with hiking trails, and a pond (with a rowboat and fishing poles). There are two fire pits for cooking—one near the campsites and the other on the deck behind the house, which is also yours to use. The driveway passes the house and the barn before looping back in a circle, allowing easy access to the campsites and creating a wonderful track for walks or runs. A scenic trail circles the pond, though it can be muddy at times. Behind the house, you'll find several trails winding through the woods, some marked with orange streamers that lead through a variety of looping routes. You're also welcome to walk through the vegetable fields, admire the crops, and maybe even harvest some fresh greens for dinner! Fresh herbs—including basil, chives, parsley, and thyme—grow in the flower bed along the front walkway. Help yourself at any time!

Laurel Ridge Farm is Litchfield's largest estate, a working grass-fed beef farm, and the site of a well-loved tourist attraction that appears every spring: the Laurel Ridge Daffodils. Guests will have access to an area of a large flat field with easy road access. The field itself is 50 acres but we do not allow full roaming for guests as this is a hay field. You can enjoy farm-to-table beef and pork products with a visit to our farmstand (open Sundays or by appointment) in an old converted windmill just down the road. This setting is well known for its elevated outlook, ten-mile views, and stunning sunrises and sunsets. If you wish to leave the farm and explore the area, you can sample the restaurants and shops of Litchfield County, a country haven that is quickly growing in popularity. Visit the serene beaches of Bantam Lake or Lake Warmaug, or hike through White Memorial’s thousands of acres of nature preserve or one of the many nearby state parks—there are dozens of beautiful spots within reach. For culture buffs, visit the Institute for American Indian Studies in Washington, the Historical Society in Litchfield, or the art galleries in Kent. You can also enjoy lively family-friendly events at several local farms during the summer, featuring live music, food trucks, and more. Take a stroll through historic Litchfield town center (a 5-minute drive) to admire the 18th- and 19th-century mansions and majestic old trees. The charming town also features top-rated shopping and restaurants for every taste and budget—from pizza by the slice to Michelin-starred cuisine.
