The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house.
When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here.
We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site.
We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same.
It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property.
We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped.
Our property has provided many happy gatherings and events and we love to share it with others.

You can enjoy exploring, and examining our 7 year permacultuire food forest with chestnut seedlings already tall enough to climb , 10-foot hazels bearing buckets of nuts and a different selection of raspberries, blackberries, gooseberry, currents, golden berries, service berries and Mulberries. This site is much more private than Mickelberry Forest Garden Site and the beautiful mountain view is only a small step away. The Creamery (Ferris Acres) is one of the best farm ice cream shops in the East. The Terry is an adorable vintage 1970’s camper trailer nestled in the back corner secret garden area of Marina 59, a marina on the bayside of Far Rockaway, Queens, NYC filled with creative structures, beautiful boats and wonderful wildlife. The bathrooms, with large comfortable showers, are a quick walk away at the Marina entrance. Your rental includes parking in the marina lot and a clicker to come and go as desired. Outside the doors, there’s a decent super market, a Dunkin’ Donuts, and a gas station. The beach is only three blocks away. The beach where numerous surf lessons take place is 9 blocks away. We are close to JFK airport - super convenient, but you will hear some plane traffic overhead. We're the perfect spot to stay if you have a layover at the airport and want to head to the beach. The marina is also home to Sail Rockaway, that has sailing lessons and trips along the beautiful Jamaica Bay. Great birdwatching as well because we are located at the edge of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. It's truly a magical spot!

The Terry is a perfect retreat for surfers, sun lovers, bird watchers and anyone who loves to enjoy all that Rockaway has to offer. And it’s an easy breezy subway / bus / ferry / drive away from the city!

Robin's Hood is an open spacious site. It has a table, kindling to pick up, raised copper campfire, walnut trees, and a grassy slope where deer frolic by a dry streambed. Park at the site which is down a gravel driveway.
Lola’s Loop site is private, less open, enclosed in a natural habitat accessible by short path. Metal campfire holder. No toilet or furniture.
The Rocks is shady, lots of wood to burn, firepit, next to a lawn and a natural habitat for animals. Drive to site.

The Terry is an adorable vintage 1970’s camper trailer nestled in the back corner secret garden area of Marina 59, a marina on the bayside of Far Rockaway, Queens, NYC filled with creative structures, beautiful boats and wonderful wildlife. The RV has a queen size bed that comfortably fits 2. There is a new, powerful AC, a toaster oven, a fridge, a hot water kettle, and all the kitchen basics. The bathrooms, with large comfortable showers, are a quick walk away at the Marina entrance. Your rental includes parking in the marina lot and a clicker to come and go as desired. Outside the doors, there’s a decent super market, a Dunkin’ Donuts, and a gas station. The beach is only three blocks away. The beach where numerous surf lessons take place is 9 blocks away. We are close to JFK airport - super convenient, but you will hear some plane traffic overhead. We're the perfect spot to stay if you have a layover at the airport and want to head to the beach. The marina is also home to Sail Rockaway, that has sailing lessons and trips along the beautiful Jamaica Bay. Great birdwatching as well because we are located at the edge of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. It's truly a magical spot!

Our land is 18 acres of a wooded hill, surrounded by hundreds more acres of trust-preserved land. A brook glitters from across the street, visible from most spots on the hill.
The preserve land can be hiked, though there are not always paths. Macedonia and Kent Falls state parks are nearby by car, as well as an entrance to the Appalachian Trail just five minutes down the road.
We are just six minutes away from the Tenmile River Metro North station and can pick you up with advance coordination.
The town of Kent, Connecticut is a 7-minute drive and has lots of shops, dining, and an art gallery. The town of Amenia, New York is a 12-minute drive and has a drive-in movie theater, and some restaurants. Historic Downtown Wassaic is a 7-minute drive and is home to the Wassaic Project art gallery.

Rick’s place is a great find. We needed a place within driving distance to Bridgeport, to visit family. We stayed in early March, when there was still snow on the ground. Rick was very easy to communicate with and helpful. He ensured that the site was plowed. The full hookups worked well. The spot was level and we didn’t need any levelers. The spot is spacious, and has a nice fire pit. You are in a wooded area and it is peaceful.
We had read the comments on access and finding it. A few comments: if you arrive in the daylight, it’s very easy to find, as the mailboxes all are numbered, so even if your GPS take you too far, you will find it easily - the address is clearly marked. Re the entrance and trees: We are a 27 ft travel trailer towed with an SUV - 44 ft total. We went in the second entrance and out the first entrance. You need to pay attention, but we had no issues either entering or exiting. We just went slowly watched our angles. By going in the second entrance, you are set up correctly for the hookups - otherwise you will have cords and hoses across your trailer.
If you are looking for a place in this general area, this is a great spot. We hope to stay again to visit family in the future.

Robin was really friendly. She greeted us when we arrived and let us pick any site that we wanted.
I went in February with lots of snow so it was kind of a battle getting items to the site due to the slippery hills but my friend and I knew we would have to work harder.
I had a hot tent with wood stove that I really wanted to test out.
She was more then accommodating with our adventure!

The Robin’s Hood clearing we booked was great! It was secluded and surrounded by trees, but close to our car and even Woodbury Commons nearby. We saw a deer once and had no other encounters with wild animals. There were some small trees we used for kindling. The area was perfect for our first time winter camping! Note: if it has just snowed, be prepared for a short walk on uncleared snow from car to site.

Theres something really special about this place! The horses are amazing, the land and trails are beautiful and the people are nice and friendly! My old van made it easily up the hill and the parking was nice and flat and the power hookup very good! My dogs also had a great time! The WiFi worked very well on the iPad but the phones struggled a bit. But really I have to dedicate some words to the horses: oh my, what beautiful animals they are! And they are all rescue! Mama and Lacey stole my heart!

My son and I really enjoyed camping on Mike's property. It was tucked away and quiet. Mike was very supportive and kept the firewood coming for the cold temperatures. The entrance comes up quickly, but Mike's directions were spot on.
The hiking near the property was fantastic. Try Anthony's Nose; the hike was challenging, but the views were worth it.
