Fernwood on Alan F.’s Land

2 sites · RVs, Tents43 acres · Hampton, CT
There are several options for setting up your tent. You will be the only ones at Fernwood, or Fernwood 2 unless we happen to be up working on the land.  No matter where you set up you'll have your own private fire pit, and level ground for your tent(s).  Come and enjoy a quiet retreat, or use Fernwood as a base for many outdoor activities-biking, fishing, hiking-all nearby.  Natchaug Forest offers great trout fishing.  Goodwin State Forest is less than 3 miles away by car where you can put in a canoe on Pine Lake, amble through the wildflower and pollinator gardens, or enjoy the Education Center and Museum. From Goodwin, you can access the Air Line State Park Bike/Hiking Path.  Hampton also has a general store that has simple food, frozen dinners that Kara will heat up for you, gifts, and awesome Ice Cream Sodas! ( https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100085946253543&mibextid=LQQJ4d )  If you want a change from all that nature, there is Sharpe Hill Vineyard less than 10 miles away, as well as We-Li-Kit IceCream less than 6 miles.  The route to either place will take you through beautiful scenic farmland.  We hope you enjoy our forest and the surrounding area as much as we do.

Little Mountain Homestead

1 site · RV, Tent2 acres · Becket, MA
Little Mountain Homestead is a 275 year old homestead hugged by two large streams and a large mountain to its east. There is a gaggle of free-ranging chickens and dogs and cats. During the summertime, we have a huge organic, heirloom garden and a deep swimming hole close to your camping site. Olivia, your host, is a classically-trained chef happy to offer breakfast and snacks upon your arrival. Becket, Massachusetts is a hidden gem tucked deep inside the Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts. At approximately 1900 feet, we have a significantly cooler climate than our neighbors even 10 miles to the west or south. Our summers aren’t usually hotter than 85 degrees and our winters are full of snow and tea and cozy. Little Mountain & Becket, MA - 20 minutes to Tanglewood - 8 minutes to The Appalachian Trail and October Mountain State Park-the largest state park in Massachusetts, - 3 minutes from beloved restaurants in town - 6 minutes to the legendary local favorite to the Dream Away Lodge, a place with a huge history in American music. The haunt of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, the Guthries. -2 minutes to cross country skiing -13 minutes to the Tanger outlets in Lee - 15 minutes to Jacob’s Pillow, - surrounded by trails everywhere you turn - 30 minutes to skiing at Otis Ridge or Butternut - Less than an hour away from Mount Greylock - 30 minutes to MassMoCa - 13 minutes to the Mass Pike - Becket is centrally located to the heart of the Berkshires while feeling remote and mountainous at the same time. Because of our livestock and animals outside, we ask that you keep your animals leashed at all times. Our chickens free range and their safety and comfort are our priority and we thank you for understanding. Breathe in the fall leaves, fall asleep to the sounds of Rudd Pond Brook making its way north, the owls cooing, One of Becket’s first 6 houses, carefully restored with so much love in 2021, Little Mountain is our home and sanctuary. The place we come to relax, heal, and rejuvenate. Come join us.
