My homestead is located on 4 1/2 acres of pastureland that currently have no animals. You will turn on Powell rd to reach the back portion. The camping spots are located on the back part of the property and along a refurbished shed that includes 1 added 30 amp plug; interior electric, clean well water delivery or hose filling in warmer months as well as a separately fenced area for visiting canines (Please only non-aggressive breeds unless leashed at your camp). My Golden has an invisible fence and is not allowed to visit campers unless permitted. Fires are only permitted and shared on the back patio of my home. Activities for fun on site include corn hole, firepit on lower patio along with a propane weber grill. Only 2-3 mile from Frontier Park and an electric bike ride to downtown to tour the museums, restaurants and shops.
Currently, new to hip camp and refurbishing the house and exterior so The Shed will be a working/congregating space with refrigerator/freezer, electric cooktop and indoor space with a fan so folks can escape their cars/vans. Wi-Fi is also available in the shed and the surrounding camp areas toward the building.
This was my dream come true property and I'm looking forward to sharing it with road warriors like me. Weather is forever changing here and clouds roll by fast leaving the most fabulous rainbows. I just ask that no fires of any kind be set at your site because the field is a fire hazard in the dry plains.

With the provided instructions the location was easy to find, and absolutely gorgeous! Multiple trails within a 10 minute drive and the sounds of the river were beyond peaceful to fall asleep to. The available portapotty was quite literally the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Overall, favorite spot I stayed out of a 13 day stretch in Colorado!

First off. Putting low stars beacuse of mosquitoes, for me is ridiculous...
Ok now... this place is absolutely amazing.... I have stayed 4 or 5 times now. Its VERY isolated and PRIVET!
River runs right by you. Yes bugs and mosquitoes, BUT not all the time. Just stayed 4 days and it was fine...
If you want to be close to nature, look no further. Calm. Gas station about 3 miles away. Iv gone with my electric scooter. Clean. Trash avaliable. Portapotry. No electricity. No water. In between hills BUT still get PLENTY of sun.
I LOVE this place, I cant say it enough...

My boyfriend and I picked this spot while in town for a concert at the Mishawaka Theater, and we were so glad we did. The location was beautiful—right by the water with amazing views—and it felt private and peaceful. We didn’t have cell service, but honestly, that was a bonus. It gave us a chance to unplug and really enjoy each other’s company.
The site was easy to find, and while there were some mosquitos (as expected), they weren’t a problem at all with a little bug spray and a Thermacell—we didn’t end up with any bites. You can hear some cars in the distance, but the sound never overpowered the peaceful setting.
All in all, the combination of the scenery, privacy, and convenience made it such a great stay. We can’t wait to come back!

Gorgeous spot conveniently located right on the Poudre River. Plenty of room for a large tent, fire and picnic table. Can be a little loud being in a valley right on the highway but you can't beat the water access and convenience of getting there. Will definitely be back.

We overall enjoyed our stay at Castaway. Our favorite aspect of the site is the ample and easy access to the river. I will caution any light sleepers, the tent pad is just yards away from Poudre Canyon Rd, which we discovered is heavily trafficked well into the early hours of the morning. We almost didn’t stay our second night because of this. Also, the site description says there are 4 lawn chairs. There was only one and it is broken, so bring your own folding chairs.

Tucked away private campground right on the water; great view. The site was a great size, we’d love to come back with our kids! Only potential downfall was the proximity to the main road, you could hear/see the lights from cars driving by, but that’s not something we personally minded. Right outside Ft Collins, 25 minutes to Loveland, and an hour to Estes/Rocky Mountain National!
