Lakeside Camping, Water Time :)

7 sites · RVs, Tents22 acres · Clifton, CO
We moved here in 1997 The home has had major remodels done on it. The lake is an old gravel pit to make road base for local road construction. The buoys in the lake are scuba projects from the local college CMU, and hold lots of fish. Other nesting platforms are for our local Geese and they hatch out in April-June. We airbnb 2 rooms in our home as a shared facility and have airbnbs in Northern Ca and Baja. Our home is off limits for campers as we need to respect the space for our other airbnb guests. But in an emergence please call, cell service works fine. port-a potty is gone for the winter November-April. port-a potty is clean and works great, May- Oct. If you here in the winter you may use the trees or Mavericks gas station in 1.5 miles away.

The campsites are 2 minutes from downtown Fruita for those who would enjoy good restaurants, great coffee shops, or a drink. You will find a grocery store, pharmacy, and gas station in the same area. To consider: Our place is great but not for everyone. We have three convenient sites, all with electricity and water and one with sewage. They all have great views and are very close to the town of Fruita. Every hipcampers can enjoy the beach and the lake between mid-May and October when its full. The property is used by THE GONDOLA SHOP, which restores ski gondolas. Monday to Friday, you might hear some light noise and see employees walking around. For that reason and the potential hazard YOU ARE FULLY RESPONSIBLE OF YOUR CHILDREN IF YOU HAVE SOME on our property. We ask that all vehicles drive no faster than 10 miles per hour for the same reason. We will consider a group of campers or mix camper/tents roof tents as long as you have your own bathroom to share. Please email us with any requests you might have. We are open to discussing any inquiries. Between May and October, when our lake is full and usable, our place is great for gatherings and a big BBQ. Camp #1 / 30amps + 110V (NO WATER). We have a spot on the property for you to fill in your water tank, but there is no water directly at the site. This site is on an old concrete pad and will need some leveling. This site is close to the tenant's house. You might see some chickens running around, but your camper will face the opposite way, and you will get your privacy. We accept campers class B and C ONLY, max 27 feet for this camp. NO TRAVEL TRAILERS. It would be best to park nose 1st to access the electric post and back up to get out. This site has lots of shade in the summer. This site has no fire pit and no picnic table. Camp #2 / 50amps + water + sewage. WINTERIZED. YOU ONLY NEED A HEATED WATER HOSE. This site is on compact gravel and will need some leveling. This site is generally for people who want to ride their bicycles on the world class Lunch Loops (less than a mile away) or explore the canyons of the surrounding area and need a place to crash. The camping area is quiet and private; we are pretty much your only neighbors. Site is limited to camper vans, truck campers, smaller travel trailers, Class C RVs or smaller. Rigs longer than 25' are not recommended due to space due to maneuvering logistics. If you do have a 25'+ rig be warned - the parking may be tight and will require you to have a sidekick to help you back in.  If we are home we can assist. There is a hose and water available to fill up water jugs - please inquire.  We love this area and know it well, so we will gladly provide any information about food, hiking, or fun activities for you and your loved ones. Also please inquire about fresh eggs - we have fenced-in chickens out back (all hens, no loud roosters) and are happy to provide when possible!  We have 2 honeybee hives that will be fenced in the back corner of the yard.  The hive entrances are facing away from camp, so the bees' flight path will not interfere with you hanging out.  The fence is designed to keep out any animals, children, or people, deterring them from getting close access to the hives.  Honeybees do not sting unless defending their hive, however, if you have a bee allergy, just be aware that this should be a considered factor! Please ask any questions you feel necessary.

Hollow Horn Farm

2 sites · RVs, Tents25 acres · Hotchkiss, CO
This old orchard/grazing land has been neglected for over a decade. Over run with invasive elm trees and prairie dogs it has been in serious need of help. As new stewards of the land we have already taken steps to reclaim this land's former glory. Elm trees removed and prairie dog numbers down we have seeded the land to radishes (soil structure) and legumes (nitrogen) to focus on soil health so that it can support a future planting of high elevation vineyards for wine production.Learn more about this land:Our farm is 22 acres of mostly pasture land that we plan on developing into high elevation vineyards. We have a whole slew of animals...goats, cows, chickens, turkeys, and a couple of farm dogs. Nestled in the beautiful North Form Valley on the Western slope of Colorado between Aspen & Telluride, you'll find spectacular views of the West Elk Mountains and many of the mesas and valleys that make up this region. Folks dont realize that the West Elks is an established AVA and we have some phenomenal wineries in the area including Stone Cottage, Jack Rabbit Hill Farms and Azura all well within 20min drive..... Mesa Winds Winery is practically our neighbor and is a walk or 3min drive. Amazing opportunities to float, swim, kayak, paddle board and fish gold medal waters just 10min away at pleasure park. Hiking, biking, climbing are all exceptional here. Eagle rock shelter is the oldest known archeological site in CO and top 5 in USA and its 15-20 min drive and 1/4 mile hike! A true outdoors paradise! We have 4 amazing neighbors and you can see their homes from most of our property but they are far enough that you will forget they are there.
