Gondola Village at Holy Cross is at almost 12,000 feet above sea level (believed to be one of the highest altitude Hipcamps in the world). Gondola Village at Holy Cross has been featured on Discovery Channel’s Reclaimed, Airbnb's OMG! Fund, Arch Digest, numerous other publications and brand product shoots. The managers of this property have worked in modular construction (cabins, yurts, and homes) and hospitality for many years and have brought together some of the best Scandinavian and modern mountain design with a mining town aesthetic. With such challenging access (larger items can only come in via helicopter), each piece of furniture and amenity is carefully chosen.
The trip up can be challenging (only off-road, winch / locker equipped vehicles dare try the 759 Holy Cross City jeep road, others will need to hike in at least 2.5 miles), but the views and cabins are well worth the trek. For successful navigation without reliable cell service, a map app like onX is recommended. Snow free season tends to be June 15 an October 30 annually, and outside of this guests should be prepared for up to 11 miles of over-snow travel with no cars allowed (a bit less depending on snow coverage in the shoulder seasons from May 21 - early June and late October - November 21).

The Space
A snug cabin for 2–4 guests with a queen air bed and queen futon. Everything you need is here: linens, towels, dishes, glasses, silverware, and condiments. Water is provided via a 5-gallon station inside and a hose to the deck cooking area. No running water, but electricity is available.

The North Fork of the South Platte River runs below the property — you'll hear it, and it makes a beautiful backdrop. Note: the riverbank requires skilled climbing to reach, the current is unsafe for swimming, and it is not suitable for children.

The cottage is located on 4 acres, with orange flags marking the property lines. Our cabin is built near the camp site. The tiny cabin has a propane heater to make this a beautiful and cozy experience.
It is a quiet and peaceful place located 25 minutes from Cripple Creek (if you like gambling) , and 45 minutes from Woodland Park where you can find restaurants, supermarkets, rock and gem shops and more attractions typical to a tourist town.
A place to find peace, and nature with lots of wildlife, you may get a glimpse of a bear, mountain lion, fox, wild turkeys, deer, cayote. Enjoy the outdoor fireplace (weather permitting), watching a beautiful night sky, in a clear sky you can spot the Milky way and some star constellations.

Gambling, hiking, biking, fishing, Florissant fossil beds with giant tree stumps, horseback riding, waterfalls, wolf and wildlife sanctuary, balloon rides, mining museums, our majestic Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge bridge, Rio Grande train rides and more! If you like to shoot arrows bring your bow! Asha's retreat is located 5 minutes away from a BLM a beautiful place to enjoy a nice walk!
The terrain is rocky, we highly recommend keeping your eyes on your small kids as well as when they are in the lofts, for security reasons.
Reiki healing sessions are available upon request as well as Reiki training by a Certified Reiki Master.
Smoking is permitted outside when not under a fire ban.
Hipcampers under 21 years old are welcome only under adult supervision.
We recommend bringing your own towels and a flashlight since our lodging has an out side toilet. Please don't expect a flush toilet, we want to emphasize that we offer a porta potty.
We are charging a very small cleaning fee, expecting our guests to leave the place as they found it.

Asha’s Retreat was lovely! I was pleasantly surprised how clean it was. My 13yr old and I have terrible allergies - thankfully this home was not even dusty.
We were hesitant about the outhouse, but very surprised how clean and unsmelly it was. Truly!
Cute & quaint - my 2 school age kids, brother and I enjoyed the cabin and outside areas (especially the hammock). The hosts responded quickly to inquiries and were great!

Weekend Trip to Sanctuary in the Sky
We had a good stay at this unique location. It was very windy when we arrived but the view was wonderful. There are windows all around, and a skylight. I didn't think to look at the stars, though. We went to a concert at Red Rocks so didn't spend as much time enjoying the location as we otherwise might have. It was nice to get to meet the special needs cats that LuAnn and Chris graciously take care of. I wish them all the best!

Weekend Trip to Gondola Village at Holy Cross

Weekend Trip to Riverfront Mountain Ranch
My spouse, two dogs, I stayed in the cabin closest to the bathrooms. Our stay was great! The large king bed is very comfortable, it reminded of my own bed, so that says a lot for comfort and good nights rest. We stayed for two nights. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast as there were options for fresh hot food off the griddle made to order and other small breakfast treats on the side they offered (yogurt parfaits, bakery donuts, orange juice, and coffee with an array of creamers to your liking). I greatly appreciated the quiet hours enforced there, not once was there any disturbance. It was very peaceful. Biggest liking was the bathroom amenities and potable water availability! Rarely is it seen on any campground that bathrooms are so clean and water readily available. I know this is glamping, but you definitely get what you pay for and it was worth it. Just a few things to note - I thought there would be a picnic table at my cabin, but there was not unfortunately. I didn’t bring my camping table because I expected that, given it was provided in the description of the site. They did provide two patio chairs and a fire ring with endless free firewood on site. There’s a wonderful community tent area with games for kids and tables with chairs and a community grill. We didn’t use it but it was nice to know that was available. Bathrooms were stocked with items you would usually have at home, so that was very accommodating!

This was such a cool location with trees, plains, and great views. The disc golf course is awesome (we didn't make it all the way because we had our 2-yo with us and it's pretty long).
Pros: Awesome disc golf course. Thunder Paws Cabin was great because it kept the bugs out and the bunk bed was comfortable. Our kiddo loved the slide, swing, and teeter totter. Host was great at communicating. It was nice to be able to use the grill and fire pit.
Cons: Lots of ants and flies were out during the day (but that's to be expected because you're outside).
Note: This would be a sick spot to rent all of the lodging options and have the whole campsite. All of the campsites are right next to each other. Also, be sure to come prepared because you are kinda far from the closest store. It's very secluded.

The Prospector cabin at the M Lazy C ranch was cute, comfortable, clean and convenient! It was exactly what we were expecting and we had a wonderful stay there. We would certainly come back!

Wonderful stay. Tons of animals around, and Dan was incredibly kind — he spent time with our daughter teaching her about the wildlife and nature on the property, which was one of the highlights of the trip for her. The hot water heater went out during our stay and Dan got up early to replace it, which we really appreciated. Would happily stay again.

We loved staying in Chantelle’s Bishop Cabin! We enjoyed the property immensely. Chantelle was quick to offer suggestions for local activities. We enjoyed a wonderful hike at nearby Mt Pisgah, conversations with fellow guests, and interactions with all of the animals.

Weekend Trip to Asha's Retreat
This little slice of heaven in the woods is a gem. Quiet, serene and peaceful, we really enjoyed our time here. Equipped nicely, fresh linens and towels and all. The loft sleeping place was just what we needed after days filled with hiking. Kitchen was perfect for making our meals. We loved this place and plan to be back.

3 nights at Cabin, RV & RV Site by Muller Park
This stay couldn’t have been any better! We definitely plan on coming back! (Possibly with our friends!)
The cabin its self was great, it had lots of stuff needed for your basic camping activities. We realized there were lots of extra items/tools that were available that we didn’t think about ahead of time.
The area around was so neat and definitely a nice quiet place to stay! It was even a more convenient area to stay, we were within distance to see the Florissant fossil beds, Cheyenne zoo, garden of the gods & more!
Dan was awesome & super attentive. He knew a lot of cool history about the area, had lots of recommendations of things to do, and went the extra mile so we could see the wildlife!
We appreciate the hospitality and highly recommend staying here!

We loooved the A-frame on Ernest’s property! Everything was well-appointed and very clean. Ernest was prompt to reply. We explored the land on a hike and had a great time. Highly recommend!
Note: the weather can be colder/snowier than in Evergreen. Consider when packing :)

1 night at S.L.umber Yard At FREIGHT
We absolutely loved our stay! We were on roadtrip hitting 4 national parks. We stayed here when visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. Although it is a drive to the park entrance, it's a beautiful drive and a beautiful way to catch sunset and sunrise spots. Also due to location, it was easier for us to hit one side of the park one day and the other the next due to snow closures on the through roads for the park. The town, the people, the Lodging. Everything was great! We would recommend this to anyone looking for something a little more high end on a budget with character!!
