Welcome to Camp Wilder! We are an off-the-beaten-path camp offering peace and solitude. The cabin is very special to my family and me. It was passed down as a mining claim from my grandmother who founded it in the '60s. The vision for the land was simply perfect. A small 10 x 10 cabin with the whole mountain to explore and whoever they wished to bring with them. The town of Nederland is 10 minutes down the road where you can fish at Baker Reservoir. Lots of fun little stores in town to keep the family busy. Wildlife is everywhere up by the cabin/campsite, always remember don't leave food lying around with lots of great things to look for around the magical town of Nederland. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes. We are @ 10,000 feet and it is a slight hike to the cabin. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

As Colorado's open range law permits ranchers to graze their cattle without borders, you will often find them on the roadways or you may even get caught up in a cattle drive as the ranchers move their cattle from one pasture or paddock to another. Springtime brings all the calves and branding time! Observing the rancher, his horse, and dog working together is a genuine treat. Look along the roadside for sage grouse, in the open fields for pronghorn, down in the willows and streams for the bull moose, in the trees for the mule deer, and on top of the ridge lines for the elk. Sweet cabin in Old Town Nederland. Close to restaurants, brew pubs and boutiques, and located on the edge of a quiet neighborhood just a block from Boulder Creek. Ample parking for camper vans and an excellent reprieve from the backcountry or the road. Perfect for couples, friends gathering, or a small family. Whip up breakfast in the well appointed kitchen or cozy up by the fire after a long day on the slopes. World class hiking and skiing within 10 miles. Old Town is the OG Nederland neighborhood. Dozens of cabins, many over 100 years old, line the streets, along with pine, spruce and aspen trees. In summer, wildflowers grace our “lawns” and in winter we ski down the streets. Bear, moose, deer, elk, fox and coyote are our neighbors. Nederland is a mountain community at 8240 ft. elevation. Yet we are 30 minutes to Boulder and 45 to Denver. Estes Park and RMNP are 45 minutes away.

This land is beautiful, the lodge even better. But what made it all worth it was the reassurance that everything was going to work out. I had constant communication with Cesar as we had been travelling 18 hrs from Houston Texas. They made everything easy, asking questions and being patient. The lodge was stocked with necessities and even provided a grill, propane, a boot brush and even more two sources of heat. We were able to chop our own wood as well as purchase them from Cesar. It was all worth the drive and made my husband's and I anniversary exciting.

Camping here was absolutely wonderful! From the drive up to the view from the porch, the scenery was gorgeous. The site itself is a bit tricky to find which was my only issue. Otherwise the location is perfect, and the lodging was stocked with a multitude of useful resources. I would definitely visit again!

This property was AMAZING! I stayed 2 nights by myself and I’m so grateful I found this site. The little bear cabin was perfect. Signage was clear leading up to the site. The road is dirt leading up to it and then gravel. The view from the cabin is great. Through the trees you can see the mountains, walk up the hill a tiny bit and amazing clear views. The grill worked well and there was firewood at the wood stove. The inside was clean and it was great to have the fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee maker. The cabinets had paper plates, plastic cups and some plastic utensils. The cabin keeps out the cold fairly well but it was a bonus to have the heater. The bed was comfortable and there was a cot below you could put together if you had another person that needed a spot. The porta potty was clean as was the site in general. You can see the other cabin from this one but it’s not too close. I highly suggest booking this cabin!

Beautiful view! We had a great stay. All images and posted amenities are accurate. The space is well insulated and kept heat well. We used the wood stove for heat before bed to ensure the temperature stayed up over the course of the night. We stayed in September and there are aspens on the property with a beautiful Mountain View. With a clear day you can see multiple mountains and some had snow on top!

What a cool, serene, GORGEOUS spot. Close enough to Denver to have a night out in the mountains. WiFi, too, so working here is totally doable and you’d have the best view. The hosts have really stocked the place well and the outside and inside fires were perfect on a chilly night. Did I mean the vast night sky full of stars???

So far, RMNP is MY FAVORITE park! I stayed in Arapaho near Lake Granby and drove in from the south side the first 2 days I went, but drove ALL through Trail Ridge Road. We also came back through the Estes Park side. We loved the ranger programs, viewing elk and moose, hiking to Emerald Lake, and the marmots were a favorite for my kids!
