When the farm house was built in 1909, the cabin was already here. We bought the weed patch with the intention of starting a flower farm. It was a cattle feed lot years ago and the soil should be very fertile. We'll use the composted manure in the Spring. Learn more about this land: Farm land off I-76 and Hwy 6. Set up camp under old cottonwood trees, between the wild plums and spruce trees. 31267 Road U, Brush CO 80723. Prewitt Reservoir and Elliot State Recreational Area nearby. Sunsets and sunrises are spectacular. See the stars at night. Wake up to the rooster's crow. We have alfalfa and corn to the north and grasslands to the south. Outhouse/port-o-potty is available. The train adds to the country feel. Irrigation ditch runs at least two days a week. Our chickens are friendly and used to dogs. Site #1 is better for small vehicles and tent camping. It is more protected. Site #2 is better for large RVs and trailers. Located down the road from nationally recognized Optimist disc golf course in Ft Morgan CO.

Diane is so sweet and showed us all of their beautiful friendly animals and plants when we arrived and even offered fresh goat milk and a plant starter! The land was gorgeous and we got to watch adorable goats from our tent. One of my favorite camping experiences ever!"

Our neighbors, Miller Farms CSA and farmers market, are one of the few remaining vegetable farms in the area. Small lake within walking distance. Pet friendly. 110V (very minimal at 15 amps) power and potable water available. We can offer an outhouse facility. If this is a necessary option please contact us before booking. Booked last minute and couldn't be happier! Just a small park spot that looked out onto flat land and mountains in the distance. The site was well maintained and the portapotty was clean. Andy was super nice and accommodated me on very short notice. I didnt get to utilize the fire pit or tables and chairs, but I would gladly visit again! Just be aware the train tracks are riiiight there. I wasn't asleep yet for the first time and I was up early so the second didn't affect me. But it is loud!

Tent camping here was great! It was a little too cold still to head to the mountains for camping so we went to Apollo Ranch. The weather was nice, the tent spot had plenty of room, the onsite porta potty was very clean, and we really appreciated the sun shade and tables/chairs. We saw a couple different birds here which is always fun for us to look out for. We’ll definitely come back when looking for a spot in the plains!

Great place to stop for a quick overnight or for several days. Is convenient to town amenities and don’t let the lack of hookups scare you, the dump station is less than 10 minutes away and it’s free. The staff is super helpful and the scenery is epic! I wish there were more places like this out there.

1 night at Apollo Ranch

Andy was an attentive and extremely helpful host! We camped out of our truck here for a night on our way to Northwestern Colorado and Andy’s place was conveniently located as well as peaceful. The toilets were clean and it was so nice to be able to fill up our water jugs. We spent the evening watching the Kingbirds and Meadowlarks in the surrounding farm/ grass land. Definitely recommend Andy’s place!

Weekend Trip to Apollo Ranch

Andy is a great host, reached out after I booked to make sure I had the directions and photos of the driveway and site. The land is very well setup, level sites all private and with tables, chairs, and cover from the sun. The best feature (according to my pups) was his very large dog run. It was so nice to have a fenced area for them to run around in. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Beautiful campground with great amenities! Our spot by the creek was wonderful with the rushing water in the background. Campground was very clean and the owners were personable and friendly. The homemade muffins and cinnamon rolls were magnificent! We loved everything about it.

I loved the whole place. It was far enough away from downtown Pagosa Springs to be in the beautiful countryside. The creek near our spot was amazing. The host had fresh homemade pastries every morning. I will definitely come back when I’m in the area.

Where to go

Western Colorado

Western Colorado shares quite a bit in common with neighboring Utah to the west, with massive sandstone rock formations—including the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park—plus fantastic opportunities for winter and summer recreation alike. Towns worth checking out include Steamboat Springs and Aspen—both popular ski resorts—as well as cute towns such as Montrose and Durango that make excellent bases for exploring the wilds of the San Juan Mountains. If you’re interested in history or archaeology, don’t miss the chance to visit the Puebloan cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park.

Denver and North-Central Colorado

Stretching from Fort Collins near the Wyoming border all the way down just past Denver, this region is largely urban but still offers plenty for campers. You can take in fantastic views of the region from the Estes Park Aerial Tramway or by driving the Trail Ridge Road scenic byway through Rocky Mountain National Park. Or, pack up your tent and head out on a backcountry camping trip in the Arapaho and Roosevelt national forests.

South and South-Central Colorado

This part of the state offers a mix of wide-open plains and towering massifs, including Pikes Peak near Colorado Springs, a scenic mountaintop that served as the inspiration for the patriotic tune America the Beautiful. Popular area activities include fishing and whitewater rafting on the Rio Grande and sledding down the sands at Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve. If you want to soothe tired muscles after a weekend of adventure, head to the hot springs towns of Buena Vista and Salida—both just outside the Pike and San Isabel national forests.

Eastern Colorado

Quiet Eastern Colorado features a mix of grasslands and canyons, with massive expanses of grazing lands and farms that give way to charming small towns. You can learn about life in the 19th century at the Old Fort National Historic Site and the Boggsville Historic Site, or head down to the John Martin Reservoir, a great place for birdwatching and boating.
