You will find happiness, peace, the sound of the winds in 3000 year old trees, alpine streams tricking through ancient untouched forests, great horned owls and moose calling into the night, coyote echoing at sunset signaling night approaching, the warm smell of pine and summer grasses, touching the warm rocks next to the stream while you listen to the birds and crickets. I could go on and on, these are the things I see when I close my eyes and think of this place. This site sits at the base of (2) 14ers. in thee middle of a sunken meadow. This is the most beautiful and secluded camping experience you will experience in Colorado. There are miles of 4x4 and atv trails. There are countless hiking trails for day and short nature hikes. Above the site sits bristlecone pines that have appeared in ansel adams prints and are absolutely amazing. The sites sit on 160 private acres which borders national forest. There is a small a-frame tent that's insulated with big windows, locking door, skylight, solar for charging electronics, and a full size bed. The cabin is roughly the size of the full size mattress but seems bigger because of the a-frame roof. Its warm and cozy and keeps the critters and animals out, so you feel safe and comfortable. There are lots of amenities on site.  There is a picnic table, 10'x12' waterproof awning and wood deck.  There is a bbq, bear box, huge stone fire pit and bucket toilet. The road into the site was graded last year but still has small potholes typical of a Colorado county road, most low-profile cars will do fine.  If you have a rv or camper, the turn around is limited, no tow behind campers or vehicles over 20'

We really enjoyed our weekend stay here! We came with my toddler and dog and they both enjoyed playing outside during the day and stayed cozy and warm in the tent during the chilly night. The site was well supplied and conveniently set up and Marsha was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The land is beautiful and the leaves were starting to turn golden. It was so secluded and peaceful; the stars were unbelievable and we could hear coyotes at night and it was so quiet we could hear the flapping of bird wings during the day. I would love to come back and stay here again another time.

This was the best camping experience I’ve ever had! My daughter called me and told me about this place and we immediately booked it. Imagine you’re at 10,000 feet on 160 acres on the most beautiful countryside in Colorado and you’re only ones there! 1 campsite, all to yourself with all the amenities you could possibly hope for! Mike and Marsha have thought about everything, we will be back here year after year and make sure we stay more than just 2 nights! If there’s any question in your mind about booking here, just do it!! You come back and refer this place to your friends, that’s how good it is!

The best part is that it is off the beaten path. Beautiful, private spot to hang out with the family and the dogs. Great fishing and hiking nearby. We would definitely book this spot again. Road to the property is a bit bumpy but easy for our Pathfinder and Outback.

We had the best time at this camp spot. The hosts provided everything we needed for an easy getaway from Denver. The yurt was HUGE and allowed for us to play board games indoors while it rained. We saw no people, only some deer while we were camping. We will definitely be back!

Michael & Marsha’s site was absolutely fabulous! My dog and I had a great time staying here for 2 nights. We saw the cows on day 1 and they didn’t approach us, but they definitely watched us. It was so cool to see them. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and utensils. The bathroom was very clean. The tent and bed were very warm and there is a heater if needed. The fire pit outside was so nice after a long day! Marsha and Michael were super helpful upon my arrival. They showed me where everything was, how to use it and set me up for success. We spent most of our time walking the property, cooking and reading. It was very peaceful and relaxing.

Sooo quiet and be peaceful. Super dark at night. Great alternative to tent camping… the bed was very comfortable. It’s decorated really well. I would only recommend a solar shower and better toilet. But, hey, it’s camping. Great place.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Vintage Campers

We had a great stay and would definitely recommend! Lovely location that felt more nestled in nature but easy drive to Gunnison. The camper setup was cute and nice enough for the price, the outhouse was clean and they provided all the essentials. Bring bug spray as it’s right on a river so the mosquitos did get pretty intense in the evening.
