Riverfront Mountain Ranch

Welcome to our geographic phenomenon! Here at the continental divide; we are lucky to have it all for the Outdoor Enthusiast. Our 5 acre Campground sits right along the Arkansas River. There are (2) 1 Min trails that lead you straight to River Access. Not wanting to get that close? No worries; watch the paddlers and rafters float by all summer long. If the Arkansas River is not enough of a playground for you, you will be happy to know that you have an uninterrupted view of Mount Princeton and the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Peaks. We are also located 1/2 mile from some of the most famous mountain biking trails the USA offers. Mount Princeton Hot Springs are a beautiful 10.5 mile (15 min) drive away. 
Our campground offers a dreamy Bathhouse with 5 glamoured showers and 5 bathrooms. We have (14) Yurt glamping sites and (2) Riverfront studio cabins. All sites have electricity (heaters included), parking, fire pits (unless we are facing a fire ban), and picnic table.  In addition, we have a large community bonfire location and there is access to outdoor grilling. We are excited to have you!

The Snow Shack at Columbine Creek is nestled on 5 acres of aspen and pine and is the ideal base camp as you can explore the acreage, climb any of 6 14ers nearby, sit by the stream, in the hot tub or watch the meteors from the deck.  This is REAL Colorado backcountry at high altitude(10,600 ft) with wildlife(bears, moose, mountain lions, elk, deer, fox, eagles, hummingbirds, and even nearby ranch owner's dogs frequenting the property)

This is upgraded glamping that includes electricity(almost always), WiFI(almost always), cabin, hot tub, stream, steam room and 2BR/2Ba with large deck and acres to explore along the stream.  Full kitchen minus a dishwasher and microwave.  Sorry, no condos nearby or parking garages or Tshirt shops.  No TV!!!

Trash and Food must be kept ONLY in cabin or "bear proof" trash can and always in SEALED trash bags and never left in car.

We are located at 10,600 ft and this is rugged, backcountry Colorado!  Wildlife is abundant and there will be no parking garages, fences, gates, TShirt shops, or concierge:). Consider this glamping with a roof over you.

We don’t have TVs or dishwasher or wifi or granite countertops but if you enjoy Colorado and nature and serenity then we have all you need.

Buckeye's Cozy Romantic Cabins

Buckeye's Cabin is located 4 miles outside the Town of Leadville on the upper most reaches of the Arkansas river headwaters on highway 91 as you head towards Freemont Pass. Itis just at the bottom of the pass at the point where Mt. Elbert, Colorado's highest peak and Mt Massive come into view. It is part of an old ranch that sits on a gold mining claim and is an authentic old, comfy, cozy cabin. 

Huge picture windows look out onto Mt. Elbert, Colorado's highest peak, and the Beaver Ponds of the very upper headwaters of the mighty Arkansas River. Sit by the woodstove with glass door and be mesmerized by the crackling flame. Turn on the satellite TV with surround sound and lose yourself in time.

The reading room is a quiet place to escape on the feinting bench with a good book.

Sit back in the comfy antique recliner and watch the flame in the woodstove through the glass door, as the aspen leaf's flicker in the wind outside the picture windows that look out onto Mt. Elbert, Colorado's highest peak. The Beaver ponds across the street, teeming with trout, await your exploration. The sunset colors on the surrounding mountain peaks will amaze you as you sit on the sundrenched deck.

Mining tours, museums, hiking, skiing, 4 wheel drive roads, dog sledding, snowmobiling, train rides, biking, fishing, & ice climbing are some of your options. Of course reading a good book by the fire rates high also.

Leadville, Colorado is an old western Town full of charm, mountains, scenic lakes, rivers, and wildlife. Great restaurants, bars, and café’s await your culinary delight. An old historical mining Town from the late1800’s’ in the midst of Colorado’s highest mountain peaks.

A Special Place in South Park

Your base camp for Gold Medal fishing at Spinney Mountain Reservoir, or just some relaxation and stargazing! Once a gargantuan ranch, this section of South Park has been subdivided into residential and recreational lots so more of us can enjoy the local beauty, and remains sparsely populated.

Enjoy exclusive use of this six-acre spread which features trees, rock outcroppings, and absurd mountain views. Remote yet accessible by county road, the property is a few miles from&nbsp;Hartsel, where you'll find a general store and saloon, and the other historic railroad settlements of Park County. The property has flat (but not *quite* level) areas for tent setup and also gently sloping and wooded areas for exploring. All supplies (including water) must be packed in, and all waste packed out. I stashed a collapsible picnic table behind the big rock and you're welcome to use that, please just fold it and stash it again.  There are no structures at all on the property. Per Hipcamp and local zoning, you may not relieve yourself outdoors; you must be in a vehicle or privacy tent.

There is a fire ring. If you intend to make a camp fire, YOU MUST LET ME KNOW so I can call the Hartsel Fire Department. They will then tell me if there's a burn ban in place and I will relay that info to you. This must be done no later than 24 hours before you plan to burn. Hipcamp will sometimes turn on my fire ban based on data from the National Weather Service. The only way to know the full situation is for me to call.

If you see some expensively outfitted motorcyclists cruise by, they're from the Rawhyde Training Camp up the road so give them a wave!

Wonderlust Off-Grid Camper

This fun and romantic place to stay offers a history all its own. Located in the heart of Colorado, WonderLust is a perfect getaway, fun family weekend stay, group camping trip on property camp site, photo shoot location and more. Enjoy the surrounding areas hiking, fishing, local restaurants, shops and more. This location is off grid. Solar power is available, outdoor fire pit, small kitchenette inside with a composting toilet. Up to 3 Pets are welcomed.

This property is in open range, but far from the traffic or other disturbances, it is within a short distance from Antero, Spinney and 11 Mile reservoirs, as well as National Forests.  This is the actual area of Colorado that the "South Park" animated series is based off of...

Mountain Goat Lodge Tipis

The Mountain Goat Lodge is set within 20 acres of rolling pastures at the foot of the famous Sawatch Mountain Range. Our resident goats roam the meadows, providing us with the milk, cheese, and yogurt for our tasty homecooked breakfasts and our cheese-making classes.

We are located in central Colorado in pristine wilderness, yet just 6 miles from the historic town of Salida. In addition to the tipis, we are a full service Bed and Breakfast lodge. We have campers and a vintage trailer available to rent. 

The tipis have a full-sized bathhouse for use by our tipi guests. Guests need to provide their own toiletries and towels.

New in 2022: We have added a queen sized bed and mattress to each of the tipis.. Campers still should bring their own bedding (sleeping bags, pillows) or if need be, can rent bedding from us.
