Well worth the trip up! 👌🏼
Anthony's spot in the mountains really capped off our last night in Colorado. We spent half our time hip camping and the other half camping in national parks. I chose Anthony's spot because i wanted to see the stars. And at over 12,000 feet above sea level thats exactly what i got. The ride was very rough bc we made the mistake to go from Tin Cup which is very questionable if you have a regular highway vehicle. We have a 2022 Tuscan and made it up fine but took us a lot longer than i expected but the views from the top were well worth it. We took the Pitkin way down and it was a lot smoother, I would recommend every day drivers to take the Pitkin way up and down especially if you have a car.

Beautiful views on top of Cumberland Pass. You cannot beat the sunrise and sunsets. Easy access to Pitkin or Tincup with significant privacy. Definitely a hidden gem. Tony was kind enough to stop by and introduce himself which was a wonderful surprise.

The views were amazing and we were totally isolated from everyone else. It was so relaxing! Be prepared for cold nights as the site it literally at the top of the pass, but the sunsets are breathtaking!

Beautiful view from the campsite! Very windy at times. We were confused when we first got to the top of a Cumberland Pass but if you look towards the left of the sign, the two entry points of the loop make sense. We went from Tincup using the main road 765 and while it was rocky at spots, it seemed to be the smoothest route even though it took longer. Awesome camping.

Magnificent!
Wow!! Best camping site we’ve experienced in the 6 years we’ve lived in Colorado. Easy access (do not follow Google Maps!!), gorgeous views, good tree shelter, and holy silence. Will be back again!

Weekend Getaway
Beautiful site, awesome views. Very cool at night. We trailered our ATV up to the site, and explored the next day.
To get to the site, suggest taking the route from Pitkin (vs, Tincup). If taking the route from Tincup, don’t take the route suggested by Google when leaving Tincup, take the one that flares off to the right. It’s longer, but easier.

Remote mountains :)
Wow! This was an amazing camping spot. If your feeling adventurous and have 4x4 this is the spot for you. All alone at the top of Cumberland pass with nothing but nature :) would totally come again. Not hard to find

Our stay at Cumberland High was amazing! We had the entire place to ourselves. We were able to explore the mountain top and enjoy all of the great views!

The views were incredible and the campsite was very secluded. While we didn't actually interact or communicate with Anthony, it was easy to find our site. The road was a little bumpy but my Honda HR-V made it up just fine. Lots of OHVs around and mostly everyone respected the Private Property signs.

Amazing 360 views! Long rocky road up but absolutely worth it. We were able to find a tent pad nestled by some trees for wind block and it worked great. Would stay here again!

Unbelievable view with fantastic ho
We can't say enough wonderful things about our stay with Tony up on Cumberland Pass. The views are second to none, and the same goes for Tony as a host! He was incredibly generous and helpful, and the property is pristine and peaceful. We are already trying to plan how we can come stay again- we were only able to do one night this trip but would try to do a few nights in the future. Thank you to Tony for looking after us so well- we hope to camp with you again soon!

On Top of the World!
This spot is a gem! It is a once in a lifetime experience. It is beyond gorgeous. It is tranquil. Peaceful. No one for miles. (We were the only ones camping that night)
It was windy! Honestly, I didn’t sleep well because of the way the wind was hitting our tent, but that was our fault for not setting up better.
There was snow in a couple of the spots still.
The view is insane. Seriously. I can’t say that enough.
Anthony was super responsive and helpful. We are forever grateful that he shared this special place with us.
Without cell Service, we used our trusty maps and his directions to get there. We ended up going up Tincup and I found it pretty terrifying, but also exhilarating. If you want to feel less freaked out, go up Pitkin pass. (That’s how we went back down)
We never saw a sign where tincup ended and Cumberland began, but suddenly we had reached the top of Cumberland. If you’re looking for a remote, mountain experience with the best views of Colorado, this is it!

We booked this last minute because we couldn't find any campgrounds in Crested Butte. Anthony called us pretty quickly and gave us great directions to the site. The road is extremely narrow, rocky, and uneven up to the top of the mountain from Tincup. We got there at night and it was a bit scary to drive. We stayed 2 nights and it took us about an hour each way to make the drive just to Tincup from the site. The site has a primitive feel and the view was incredible. Loved watching the sunrise in the morning. Very windy, glad we picked up some heavy stakes to secure our tent. Be prepared to bundle up. Overall a cool experience.

Breathtaking views!
My husband and I with two pups really enjoyed Anthony's campsite! It was really secluded, quiet throughout the day, and AMAZING VIEWS!!! We have heard some ATV's from distance, but did not bother us at all, and none of them came to our site, so we literally had out whole mountain by ourself. There were occasionally very high wind at the campsite, so it would be better if you set up the tent between trees.
Pros: Beautiful views, very secluded, no bugs (We saw couple of mice running around, so be sure to put away your food before bed), lots of hiking options. Small cute towns in surrounded area, (We stopped by at Taylor Reservoir to let the dogs swim, you can bring your car to the shore, and very quiet too)
Cons: Google maps will get you into dangerous situations. Once you reach Tincup simply stay on 765 all the way to the campsite. Do not let your navigation system deter you - the "lettered" 765 roads are extremely rugged / dangerous and should not be attempted by most highway vehicles.
Also, keep in mind that this is high altitude camping. My husband and I did get some mild altitude sickness so make sure to bring lots of ibuprofen and water.
Overall, it was amazing stays, and site kept it very clean, we will definitely come back next summer. Anthony was great answering all of my questions prior to my trip, and he left the voicemail after the trip and made sure we were okay.

This campsite was literally at the top of Cumberland Pass. Amazing views. Pictures can not do it justice. The host called the day before and made sure I knew where I was going. I have a wrangler so I had no problems at all but I would be hesitant to drive a sedan up there. This place is in between Pitkin and Tincup and I wanted to see both so it made for a perfect spot. Had a blast driving through the mountain.

Beautiful mountain views!
We loved our stay at Anthony's land! It was a beautiful mountain top retreat and we would definitely stay again.
The road to get there is rough, but doable even in a minivan! Just take it nice and slow.
Anthony stopped by during our visit and he was a delight. Very inquisitive about our stay to ensure all was well. He was very knowledgeable of the area.
My only negative comment would be the off-roading traffic and dirt bikers, unless you're into that. This made a lot of noise throughout the day as they came through the campsite.

yowza mtn views + 4x4
From Tin Cup, a beautiful + leisurely 4x4 recommended drive (Forester), ~35 min via dirt/rocky Natl forest road,. (Pro-tip: Unless you have legit high-clearance 4x4, take the obviously-easier-looking, but longer/windy path to the right and not the more direct route up the pass that GPS suggests : ) Rocky switchbacks, pass some abandoned mines then Yowza 360 mountain views + sunset at 12,000+ ft Cumberland Pass. Anthony's campsites just around the corner from the sign at the top were nicely distanced, with some tree coverage and fire pits. Passed lots of ATVs on the way up, and there was some traffic in the distance before sundown around the site, but people respected the 'no trespassing' signs on Anthony's hipcamp property and it was pure silence after sundown...
