Our 3-acre property is both our home and our working creative space. It is an evolving property, and you may pass working, storage, landscaping, or project areas on your way to the guest sites. These areas are separate from the camping and glamping spaces.
The guest areas are located toward the back of the property, next to the creek and open space, where we've created peaceful, comfortable spaces to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and Hogback views.
We're continually landscaping, improving, and transforming the property into the sustainable retreat we envision. Our property isn't a traditional commercial campground. It's a creative, evolving place with its own character, surrounded by nature. If you enjoy unique, artistic places with a story behind them, we think you'll feel right at home here.

Enjoy a bath in the soaking tub or a quick shower in the bathroom, which also has a composting toilet (don't worry, it doesn't smell!) and sink. Relax on the couch or outside in your private sitting area that looks into the national forest. Electricity, wi-fi, and heat included. The tiny house can sleep 4, although may be better suited to 2 if you don't want to be rubbing elbows.
The Property:
The tiny house is parked nearby the main house on the property where we live. We are at the dead end of the road, and the property abuts National Forest with trails for miles and incredible views of nearby peaks. We have two dogs who you may hear occasionally, but who live in their own fenced yard attached to the main house. Though we live on the property, the tiny house is your own private space and we'll respect your privacy during your stay. Neighboring houses are visible from the property in one direction. The other direction all that can be seen is trees, mountains and sky. There is space to pitch a tent next to the tiny house for additional hipcampers.
Please note, we sit at about 8600' elevation which means in the summer you can enjoy a good 10-15 degree temperature drop from the flatlands. Ahhh.
In the winter, it will also typically be colder and snowier.
Be prepared for the altitude and be sure to hydrate (and consider drinking less alcohol than you normally tolerate) so you can remain healthy and enjoy your stay.

The cabin is very special to my family and me. It was passed down as a mining claim from my grandmother who founded it in the '60s. The vision for the land was simply perfect.
A small 10 x 10 cabin with the whole mountain to explore and whoever they wished to bring with them.
The town of Nederland is 10 minutes down the road where you can fish at Baker Reservoir. Lots of fun little stores in town to keep the family busy.
Wildlife is everywhere up by the cabin/campsite, always remember don't leave food lying around with lots of great things to look for around the magical town of Nederland.
The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin.
The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware.
Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful.
No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there.
Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes.

When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

This site is on an 1889 Homestead property located West of Denver and East of Golden. The camping space is a 1/3 acre field adjacent to a barn and barn-yard with goats and chickens who love to interact with people. It is 15 minutes from Red Rocks park / amphitheater and walking/biking distance to two scenic lakes/parks (Sloans lake and Crown Hill). There are multiple neighborhood restaurants, bars and a beer garden also in walking and biking distance in the communities of Edgewater, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood and Denver. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The house is very comfortable and the sauna is a nice touch. Caution that the bed is up on a lot that you need to climb a ladder to get to although the couch does convert if needed. Also at the price point I expected more privacy, the house is on a fairly small property with two other rentals and to allow for a 24 hour stay, check in was at 4:00 PM and check out at 11:00 AM

Rented the whole property with a few friends for 2 nights. Breathtaking view, quiet setting, truly serene. The wood burning stove in the cabin was great for warming up. You will have to hike all of your stuff to the cabin from the parking spot, but it was only about a 5 min walk. There is a trail that runs by the property, but it’s a bike path and pretty steep. Truly a wonderful experience!

We had an amazing time, from the drive up to Gold Hill, the entire stay, and seeing the beautiful town and scenery leaving. It is so peaceful! We loved the location, how quiet it is. We were greeted by this beautiful bird outside the window as we arrived. The locals are so nice and we enjoyed chatting with them and learning some town history. The general store and the inn are great little places to! Highly recommend, 10/10! We will definitely be coming to stay again!

Had such a great stay! Cleanest port-a-potty I’ve ever used. Felt very safe there as a solo female. Patrick and Brooke were both so kind. Very easy to get into town and trails. I hiked the Mt. Sanitas trail they recommended and it was stellar. Don’t sleep on Boulder Chicken Ranch, such a great value for the price!

This was the first camping trip we had been on in 20+ years so we were a little nervous that we might not have anything we need or we might encounter the need for things we didn't think of during our trip. Chantelle was an amazing and gracious host offering to pick up anything we needed while in town as well as offering extra sleeping bags or anything else we needed while at camp. Not only does this host work to do amazing things for those with disabilities with her Camp Always Choose Adventures, but she is a beautiful human inside and out and an amazing person just to get to know. She upgraded our campsite upon arrival as we were the only ones staying the night that we did, which gave us access to a tiny cabin to sleep in if my wife couldn't handle the camping experience. The views are spectacular and except for some nauty elk overnight, so quiet. We can still feel the benefits of the serenity and peacefulness after returning to the city. We will be back again and again in the future.

Beautiful Rocky Mountain scenery, loved hearing the coyotes and cows. Prairie dogs are fun to watch. It served its purpose, a place to sleep. If you want to sit around and hang out at the campsite this is not the place.
