Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. We had a wonderful stay at Pearl. Kelley’s detailed directions made it super easy to find the place and settle in. Pearl was incredibly cozy, and everything—from the decor to the small details—felt thoughtfully arranged and well cared for. The location was perfect as well. It was conveniently situated between Nevada City and Lake Tahoe, which made it easy for us to explore both during our trip. We also brought our dog, and it was such a great experience. The off-leash space was a huge plus, and our dog had a great time too, which made the stay even more relaxing for us. My wife and I both enjoyed our time here so much that we were already saying we’d love to come back. Highly recommend staying here. Thank you Kelley!

Weekend Trip to Ridgeline Retreat

We loved this peaceful place! The Airstream is beautifully done and very comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights and loved every second of it! We mostly hung out by the outside fireplace soaking up the views and fresh air. Our dogs were in heaven and it was nice they could just hang out and be dogs:) The location makes you feel like you’re away from it all, yet you’re close enough to Missoula to get anything you need. Corey is a great host and made sure we were comfortable. We definitely feel well rested and restored after our stay. I can’t recommend this place enough, we will be back!

We had such a great stay at Cecilia’s! She and her family are incredible hosts! They walked us around the property when we got there, taught us all about the history of the land, and even sent us off with some homemade bread (so good). The sites are private and quiet, with beautiful views over the valley, and there are tons of trails through the redwoods to wander. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing place. Beautiful drive up to the camp. Great camping spot with lots of trees but still had a lot of space for setup. Very attentive and friendly host. First time camping with 2-year-old and we couldn’t have picked out a better place. Thank you, Kelley.

Amazing spot for a getaway! A lively, bucolic community with tons of cute farm animals, friendly atmosphere, handy camp shop, and unbeatable views. We will always remember the pink and purple sunsets against the eastern hills. Plus the amenities are cozy and refreshing. Definitely a return destination!

2 nights at Splitrock Farm and Retreat

We occupied the Cloud Bambi Airstream for one warm evening. This is a unique property that appears to be a decommisioned avocado farm with hundreds of trees all of which have had all limbs removed (why? disease?) It is nestled in a hilly, rocky landscape which will captivate you. The "rocks" are boulders 5', 10' or 15' in diameter. Wild!! Upsides are: i). Solitude. "Noise" is provided by nature, and just occasionally, the Marine Corps in Camp Pendleton. ii). Space. This is a very large property. Camping spaces are well separated from one another. You will not be bothered by proximity to others. iii). Beauty. The admitted odd land scape is also beautiful, and somewhat post apocalyptic. You're unlikely to experience anything like this again. Down sides: i). Lot's of non-biting flies (March time-frame), ii) lot's of dirt and dust. iii) a significant challenge (!!) to LOCATE this property, from the interstate HW15 side (easier from the HW5 side). Rely upon Google Maps at your own risk. iv). Proximity (or rather, lack thereof) to bathrooms. and, v). Vague maps of the property that make navigation by foot or vehicle a trial and error affair. vi). At times, Pendleton DOES get loud. It's unpredictable. vii). Ben is somewhere (not online, not accessible by phone, but possibly on the property), however we didn't meet him. At the end of the day, we're still happy we visited and experienced all this.

Weekend Trip to Glam Camp At The Old Dairy

I surprised my husband with a quick kid-free getaway for his birthday. We stayed in the Orient Express Airstream and had a fun time. We grabbed food before arriving and spent most of the evening watching tv and playing card games. The bed was nice and comfy, and the air was nice and cool. We didn’t sit outside, but the area to do so was very spacious and included candles and spray to keep the bugs away. The shared bathrooms and shower were a few steps away from the camper and were super clean. We had neighbors in both of the other campers also. They were friendly and respectful of the quiet atmosphere. The hosts were extremely responsive when I had questions, getting back to me super quickly. I’d definitely recommend the Glam Camp and plan to return soon.

Love the airstream and location. Mark’s communication is prompt and very helpful. Though the President’s Day long weekend rained a lot and super windy for us to chill on the outside, we love to stay in the cozy and comfortable airstream. Shower and toilet work well. I had a lovely time with my sister. We will be back for sure :)

Great for a romantic weekend on the coast! The views were INSANE, and it was so nice having a pizza oven, grill, and firepit. Everything was set up ahead of our arrival, and the host was very responsive. The camper was perfect for two people and very comfortable, as well. My partner and I spent Valentine's Day grilling and watching the sunset over the ocean--would highly recommend that experience!

Gorgeous, one of a kind stay in a unique location — even in stormy / cloudy weather! There are multiple Airstreams on the property, much closer together than advertised, so not as private as we thought it would be. Nonetheless, very clean, had coffee and drinking water for us, and lots of blankets/towels.
