Pink River Ranch in the Driftless

Highland Meadows campsite was absolutely perfect for a late September weekend camp stay. Quiet, secluded and right next to the meandering Pecatonica River. The site is located to allow great sunrise viewing and, for us, gorgeous nearly full moon. The bathroom is clean, well stocked and only a short walk away.

We enjoyed our stay at Brittany’s spot. We were in the airstream , which had all we needed— fridge, kettle for boiling water, a couple coffee makers, comfortable sleeping arrangements, clean restroom on the side of their house, accessible from outside, and especially, peace and quiet! The animals - sheep, goats, poultry, dogs - are very present but we never heard them except during the day (which helped a light sleeper like myself) and it was delightful to stay on a working farm that was so clean and cute . Communicating with Brittany was fast and easy, and directions were perfect. We felt welcome and we would recommend it to anyone who would like to be near Wisconsin cheese country and the very interesting artist/artisan hub of Mineral Point.

The Pink River Ranch is a cool little place to stay. Our campsite was a serene, picturesque spot along the river, and we enjoyed watching the highland cows go about their day. The walk from our car was short, and the walk to the bathrooms wasn't bad either. Nicer bathrooms than most places you'll camp. There's actually some pretty interesting stuff to see in the nearby towns too. We definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed in the Streamline. Yard and bathrooms were well kept. The host offers alot of great little things. ( coffee, coffee pot, bug spray, lighter,) little things that are great when you the camper forget it haha. A nice little walk or bike into the village for ice cream or a drink. Would reccomend to friends.

Nice stay for two!

My son and I stayed in the airstream on the property. He really wanted to see the highland cows and they (along with the goats and sheep) were right across the road. We live on a farm also but he really enjoyed getting to feed the goats and interact with the dogs and cats. The goat feed that was left for us was a nice touch. The airstream itself was just enough for the two of us. We played some checkers, made a fire, and made tea and coffee (which was provided). I also really liked the little items like bug spray, cell phone chargers and a lighter. We did use all of them. The bed was very comfortable and the comforter thick and the pillows nice. To get to the bathroom you do have to walk around the front of the building to get to the side where the showers are. The shower and bathroom space was nicely done and very accessible. Overall, if I’m back in the area I’d stay again!

Camping along a river with animals!

I had such a great stay at Pink River Ranch - I’m sure I’ll be back! The directions were clear, the campsite was private, and the amenities were so appreciated. The bathrooms were nice and well kept and the outdoor shower was just what we needed after a warm day. The cats, dogs, sheep, goats (including one that was just a week old!), chickens, bees, and highland cows made the stay even more magical. When the sun sets you learn why it’s called Pink River Ranch. We had everything we needed and then some for the perfect weekend camping in the driftless.

I really loved camping here. I have to say the outdoor shower was my favorite part of it all. We stayed at the highland meadows campsite and my brother spent lots of time near the cows. He gave them all names and the owner gave him treats to feed the cows. So sweet. I would love to come back here with my husband.

Beautiful weekend in the prairie

Tent camping at this location was not only beautiful but peaceful. It puts you in the center of a prairie that borders a small river. Definitely bring sun protection and prepare for a walk into the site. Such a beautiful spot to enjoy the biodiversity of prairie/wetlands. The farm animals and outdoor shower are especially a plus for me. We will be back, I’m sure!

Easy camping for two newbies!

We enjoyed a beautiful night at Pink River Ranch in the vintage Airstream camper. The campfire was easy to make with the fire starter kit. There were friendly dogs and an adorably curious cat, in addition to cute farm animals, even a baby goat! The place was easy to find with the Google coordinates and directions provided. My husband enjoyed the private outdoor shower. A very romantic, relaxing stay for two.

Highland Heaven

As an animal lover, this Highland Meadows campsite was one of the best I've ever been to! Highland cattle are my absolute favorite so it was extra special to have them to wake up to and grazing near by. Camp location right along the Pecatonica river was so peaceful and beautiful throughout the day. Be prepared for bugs depending on season/weather; aside from the annoyance of that it was a wonderful couple nights to recharge and get out of the city! SO MANY BIRDS! :) The bathrooms are a great bonus. It still feels secluded but you're close to town and all the amenities. Farm life is such a special place, Brittany and her family are so kind to let you share that with them! Happy to visit in the future

Solo camping with my dog

I absolutely loved my time on Britt’s property. What a beautiful life and homestead they have built! As mentioned in previous posts it is about a ~10 min walk from the car to the campsite, so i suggest packing and consolidating wisely to optimize your trips back and forth. However, there is a wagon to help carry your things. The campsite itself was lovely. Secluded without feeling too alone. I was confused by why the listing was called Pink River and the campsite called Riverside Chorus but that was answered the first night! I was greeted with the most beautiful pink sunset and fell asleep to the sound of so many frogs, insects, and birds. It was so amazing to be surrounded by so much beauty. I highly recommend driving up to governor dodge state park, it was a beautiful addition to my weekend. My dog and i were very happy to stay at this property and would love to return again!

Loved the site, it was the perfect mix of privacy along with amenities. It was a quick and easy walk to the car parking area and the bathrooms (which were clean and pretty). Brittany the host was incredibly caring and helpful, she provided us with some great shelter during a storm. Would 100% recommend.

Perfect getaway

We had the most peaceful, magical getaway at Pink River Ranch. Very hospitable hosts, convenient access to the site, and of course a dreamy view. We enjoyed our furry greeters Marvin, Loretta and having breakfasts with the cows. Highly recommend!
