7 nights at Casa Cobalt Desert Trailer
This was exactly the peaceful place I needed! They were such sweet hosts and also great stewards of their land. The animals clearly agree with me on that. There wasn't a single moment where I couldn't see or hear birds, lizards, or bunnies. I have never seen so many happy birds around here before, with their beaks full of foraged bugs! Often there were multiple bird species at once, singing in the trees nearby. I also saw one of the coolest lizards I've ever seen in my life. It was a huge jet black fence lizard with a bright blue collar, basking.
The temperature hit a high of 80-82 on a few days of my stay though I didn't need the air conditoner because many windows opened and the place cools down quickly. Also they wisely positioned the trailer with the covered outdoor space north facing, so I could always sit outside in full shade for the breeze midday if needed. At night, the little electric fireplace was a cute delight!
Chris was kind enough to answer my many questions about his native garden, which he built up on what used to be a mostly bare plot of land. I also greatly enjoyed Dianne's art & her art book where I felt she gave form to a lot of my feelings about the desert. Despite all the art out here, that is actually not something I personally experience often (art being subjective and all) so I feel super grateful for that nice surprise!

1 night at The Sunrise Sanctuary
I was in town to meet my dad for the first time ever. Afterward, I really needed somewhere safe and quiet to land — a place where I could process everything and ground myself. I didn’t have a big budget, so finding something affordable was important. Then I found Amy’s place. It was affordable, really cute, and exactly what I needed. I kept my phone charged with a battery pack, sat in the moonlit camper, and wrote. It ended up being a really meaningful and grounding experience.

We absolutely loved our stay in this adorable retro trailer! It has so much charm and character. The main house was beautiful and well-maintained, and the yard was stunning — clearly someone puts a lot of love into the landscaping. The accommodations were comfortable and had everything we needed. We’d happily stay here again!

This place is fantastic! I stayed in the Spartan because I had my two small dogs with me and I didn't want to stay in a tent with them. The bed was very comfortable and the site even had it's own little fire pit with chairs and a grill. The overall facilities were lovely. It was too cold to get in the pool, but I'd love to come back when it is a little warmer to try it out.

Weekend Trip to The Sunrise Sanctuary
We had a wonderful stay at Amy's place. Everything was spotless, and the directions and check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow. Amy even left us firewood, which was such a thoughtful touch since we forgot to bring our own. The night sky was absolutely unforgettable, and waking up early to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee was the perfect way to start the day. We'd happily stay here again.

Nice spot in the hills adjacent to tons of joshua trees and cactuses. Nice hike up the hill above the pool.
Trailer is very cute with lots of windows. They maintained the old look with antiques. Trailer has everything you need to cook. They have a tiny space heater but a bit chilly in Jan. It has a shower but the showers have hotter water in the main communal building and they are really fancy/pretty. Main building has a tv and piano as well!
I imagine the pool is nice during the summer. Its lined up with a view of a snowy peak but the jacuzzi was never above luke warm temp both days we were there. I didn't reach out to them about it while i was there though.

This was our second visit, and once again it delivered exactly what we were looking for. It’s an ideal escape from the city—peaceful, unhurried, and deeply calming. The night sky was absolutely stunning, with stars so bright it felt like they were falling from the sky. It was a special experience to share this kind of quiet beauty with my 10 years old daughter.
The host clearly takes pride in the property. The trailers and restrooms were exceptionally clean and thoughtfully maintained, which made the stay comfortable and stress-free. That level of care really stands out and makes a big difference, especially when camping with your special one.
One important note for future visitors: be cautious on the unpaved access road. Our car got stuck in loose sand(I think its because we went right after heavy rain), and we were only able to get out thanks to help from neighbor of the property. "Special thanks to Papa Joe!"
When driving in, stick to the firmer, compact-looking sections of the road and avoid areas where sand has built up.
Overall, this is a beautiful, peaceful place and absolutely worth returning to—with just a bit of extra attention when navigating the road in.

We’re so lucky we had the shelter of this cute little camper! It was freezing and windy so we didn’t get to enjoy the amenities as much but we enjoyed the spacious camper and comfy mattress for our sleeping bags! Everything was very clean. Definitely prepare for the camping feel. Remember there’s no electricity or water!
