Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. You should know that there are two free-roaming Blue Heelers who live on the 5-acre property and make regular visits to the camp area. Local activities such as hiking and visiting historic Julian, a short drive to Anza Borrego are all in the area. We are located on the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation, make either a left or right from Hwy 79 onto Camino San Ignacio in Warner Springs, CA, keep to the left at the loop and drive out about 5 miles . When you reach the Ranger Station at the stop sign, make the first left at the sign located at 1600 Camino San Ignacio and drive all the way out to the back. The Happy Camper is located on the left.

Weekend Trip to The Happy Camper
Davida really has a great thing here, She has thought of everything. The camper was set up with all the things needed for a wonderful glamping experience. We had an amazing family getaway here! The property is even more enjoyable in person and was a great place to relax, have fun, and spend time together. There was plenty for us to enjoy, and the pool was definitely a highlight for our daughter — she could have stayed in there all day!
The location also made the trip feel like a true little escape, and we loved the overall atmosphere of the property. Everything felt comfortable and welcoming, and our host was very friendly and easy to communicate with.
This is definitely somewhere we would stay again. We left already wanting to plan another trip back! I would highly recommend it to families or anyone looking for a fun and relaxing getaway, and we’ll definitely be sharing this hidden gem with our friends and family.

2 nights at Manzanita Village Retreat
I couldn't believe how vast and open the landscape was. Near the hermitage are some chairs overlooking the field below, which is a perfect place to watch the sunset and also for stargazing. The view of the night sky here is just incredible — I did some open-eye meditating under the stars and it was a profoundly tranquil experience.
There's a beautiful array of chaparral forest flora – I recommend venturing a bit down the path directly in front of the hermitage, which feels like an oasis. I also suggest hiking up the hill beyond the kitchen building, where you can get a panoramic view of the entire area. Birdwatchers will have a field day: I spotted many different varieties; as well as a jackrabbit and a few lizards.
The hermitage is tucked away and felt very private, while still being only about a 5 minute walk from the bathroom, kitchen, and outdoor dining area. The kitchen itself has everything you could possibly need: stovetop, oven, microwave, and a wide variety of pots, pans, utensils, strainers, etc. Tom was a friendly and responsive host.
A few things to be aware of:
- There's no outlets in the hermitage, so be prepared to charge your phone in the kitchen or dining area if needed.
- The hermitage gets hot during the summer day and stays warm at night, even with the window open.
- There were some spiders in the bathroom, and 3 hitched a ride home in my overnight bag. They're harmless, but worth noting if you're an arachnophobe.
- Bring a headlamp. It gets dark.

Loved it! The cabin was perfect. I loved the outdoor shower. Ended up taking a hot nighttime shower under the stars and it was so nice. Having real bathrooms and sinks was so luxurious for glamping too.

Favorite views were on the east side of the property looking at the wall of tall pines from the gully to the neighboring peak. The well water is delicious. Don’t bother with bringing jugs of water you will be stoked on the quality.

Weekend Trip to Agave Azul Del Sol
Eric’s site was phenomenal!! The bathroom was very clean and the cabin had everything and more that you could possibly need - activities, AC, first aid, lighters, yoga mat/foam roller, extra blankets etc. As a solo female camper, it felt incredibly safe and private.
Laying out under the 360 view blew my mind - I saw the sun set, the moon rise, constellations travel across the sky, and got to see 18 shooting stars with the meteor showers happening!! The fire pit was easy to use and had great seating areas around it. Eric was kind and accommodating - I highly recommend a stay here for anyone who’s looking to unplug, connect with nature and reset. I left feeling so refreshed and relaxed - can’t wait to come back 😊 Thank you for sharing this paradise Eric!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Campo Nopalito, such an amazing glamping site! Set on a gorgeous, peaceful 15-acre organic farm, it is a true hidden gem with six charming cabins, and an amazing tent (already set up) with a fire pit, table and chairs, and a peaceful hammock.
The amenities are absolutely top-notch. You get the perfect blend of nature, and comfort with potable water, flushing toilets, and an outdoor shower that is truly the best experience ever! There is also a fantastic full kitchen, and an incredible outdoor pizza oven that makes cooking an amazing experience.
What truly sets this place apart; however, are the hosts. They are exceptionally helpful, kind, and accommodating, going above, and beyond to ensure a perfect stay. If you want a tranquil escape with unmatched hospitality, this is the absolute best place to stay. Five stars all around!
Additionally, do not forget to opt in for the extra’s like firewood, fire starters, and avocados 🥑 !

The location of our tent was very peaceful and surrounded by nature. The tent was cozy, clean, the bed was very comfy. We enjoyed hiking nearby trails and spending time with the friendly animals of the farm. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, especially Lisa, making us feel right at home. We will miss the dogs for sure! I Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge in a beautiful setting.

Great campground. We had site 26 in Aug. There was plenty of flat space. We fit our 8 person tent with a porch and a 2 person tent easily. The area for the larger tent was in the shade all day. The rest of the site is in full sun in the early AM only. There’s a good amount of shade the rest of the day.
Bathrooms and showers are clean but there is limited privacy between the two shower stalls. Bring dollar bills for converting to tokens.
Almost every site has stairs. The stairs for 26 are not bad but the adjacent site 25 had tons of stairs and doesn’t have a lot of flat space.
There are lots of flying bugs. It’s worse in the AM and late afternoon. A small fan worked like a charm.

Stayed here for the first time this weekend. Pros: really nice campground, cleanest restrooms I've ever seen at a campground, showers available, shaded sites, some decently private. Cons: the slope, looked like almost every site was on a slope too. You have to consider it when sleeping and cooking. Gets very cold at night, it was in the 80s in the day and mid 40s overnight. The flies were terrible. We used bug spray and candles and they were still swarming us. But the worst is that that there's not much to do unless you like to hike a ton. Would have been amazing if there was a swimming hole nearby, but with little kids it's not possible to hike miles in deep to swim. But overall a very nice campground!

Due to Covid I have been dragging my husband to every campsite I can get us into all to avoid crowds and to practice social distancing while enjoying a bit of nature this was our 4th site we visited, By far my favorite over all , the trees alone made it my favorit nice shade far far far away deep in the mountain. nice size campsite oh & the stars wow breathtaking

Too many bugs!! I would say invest in a mosquito canopy. That's what I'll do next time. At some point we had to eat in the car because the bugs kept following us.

Did a group camping trip here at the end of March:
- Drove past Lake Elsinore and saw the super bloom which was really cool
- Sites 1-3 are on the side of a steep hill. Fine for adults, we were super nervous with toddlers who weren't very stable.
- Site 1 fit a shiftpod + 2 smaller tents, very slanty ground
- Site 2 fit a shiftpod + 1 small tent, very slanty ground
- Site 3 only had room for 1 10x10' tent, had gnarly steps getting into the site, and the slanty ground wasn't too bad
- Site 31 was optimal - flat ground, space for multiple tents, and two long picnic tables for group meals
- each site had potable water, and the bathrooms were close and clean
- sites 4, 7, and 8 were in the middle, and ontop of each other

There is no service here at the campsite. The Observatory Trail is a great hike, but check Observatory hours if you are looking for a tour. They are limited.

This place is beautiful and has water, showers, and bathrooms. Some of the spots are away from the parking lot and a little feel more private. My biggest complaint here is the bugs! I understand that bugs come with camping but this is out of control. Our camping neighbors were surprised by them as well. I was coverd in mosquito and flea bites after one night and I used bug spray with deet. There were also a very persistent swarm of flies that would not go away until after the sun was down and would be right back in the morning. At least they didn't bite.
If there was some type of bug control this campground would be an A+

Super rad campground, surrounded by trees and some awesome incline campsites. Felt like we had the wilderness as our backyard at our campsite. Great nature trail stemming from the campground as well. Will definitely be back!

Great mountain getaway! The observatory is nearby for a daytime visit. Lots of shade, so prepare for cooler temps even in summer time. Beautiful skies in the mountain, but you need to hike a little to see it because of the trees.

Camped here over a Thanksgiving weekend. Still amazed at how hot it gets during the day even when freezing your butt off overnight. Great spot for watching the stars - bring your telescope if you have it! Don't miss the Palomar Observatory while you were there.

Fun place to camp up in the mountains, especially if you like astronomy. There are concrete pads at some of the sites for you to set up your telescope! Nice hike from the campsite up to the observatory. And be sure to look for the giant pinecones!
