We also have a playground with swing set for kids to enjoy.
PLEASE NOTE: Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
FIRES: No fires are to be lit by the campers without verbal consent from property owner and instruction. SEE property owner/camp host upon arrival about what you may use on the property. He will provide instructions.
TASTINGS: Macala Orchards Olive Oil, Various Jellies and Jams Pomegranate Juice all made from what we grow are available for tasting upon request. Please let us know prior to arrival if you are interested in a scheduled tasting during your stay! We can provide a tasting if we have the proper staff during your visit. Our products are available for purchase, with or without a tasting. We recommend you bring cash if you are interested. We also take Venmo!
GETTING TO VILLA MACALA: The road up to Villa Macala is a dirt road uphill, all vehicles fair well, we attempt to keep the road maintained as well as possible, after heavy rains it is a bit more bumpy but safe. Drive slow!

There are many trails to walk, hike, bike and horse back ride where you can discover large boulders in different shapes and sizes along with hidden caves. A variety of rocks and minerals can be found for those rock hound enthusiasts as well.
At the camp site you will find a horseshoe pit ,indoor and outdoor games and treasure hunts for everyone to enjoy. If you want to bring your own set of golf clubs you can even hit some balls!
We allow pets for a $10 per pet/per booking. If you want to bring a pet, please add the pet fee listed as an extra during the booking process.
There are off road areas nearby. Bring your motor bike, quad or buggy and throw up some dirt.
Not too far there is a Casino, a store open 24 hrs. and a restaurant call for hours. 20-30 minutes away from the Temecula stores and wineries.
You don’t have to worry about packing up a bunch of camping equipment, our camp provides a 35 foot RV if you prefer a roof over your head and a place to sit down for a meal. The power runs off a generator ( you will need to provide your own fuel. it is a 5 gallon capacity). has indoor and outdoor lights, a radio, outlets to plug in a fan or heater or a phone/computer. There are dishes and utensils,pots/pans and a toilet. Outside water is provided to wash up and clean the dishes. There is a propane b.b.q, propane fire ring, outdoor bench, table and camp chairs. included in the cost.

We met dianna as we drove in and im glad we did. She was extremely welcoming, kind, and helpful. She gave us a walkthrough of the area and made sure everything was running/functioning properly ahead of time. She left us prepared, reassured and feeling safe. This is a great place to relax, about a 15-20 minute drive to food and stores, plus you get to meet her pup who is the sweetest. We had an amazing stay thank you!

Weekend Trip to Casa Cobalt Desert Trailer
I absolutely could not be more pleased with my 3 night stay in this cozy trailer. I originally booked 2 nights, but Chris told me I could come in very late Friday after work, and that already told me how hospitable he would be. Upon arrival everything was set up for me to enjoy cozy desert comfort. It was so cute and had all I needed to enjoy my rest when needing to balance play in JTNP. Chris checked in with me often, and turned the cool on for me on a hot day so I’d return to a nice chill trailer. There is a roadrunner nesting in a yucca that I got to see right from the porthole. I used the rear entrance on my stay and it worked out great. The bed was so cozy. Brought my own blankets and pillow but pillows were provided. I napped on the orange fold out and watched Netflix using my hotspot on breaks from playing outside. I got take out and kept in the fridge and then microwaved it. So didn’t need to cook any of my backpack meals at all. The vibe in the trailer and energy on the property are amazing. Such a wonderful experience with such gracious hosts. Already planning to come back in the Fall.

2 nights at High Desert Protocol
I have to say this was very accurate depiction of what we received, and in the world of home sharing that is more valuable than anything in my opinion. If anything I think this was better than depicted. The Spartian was clean, it had minimal kitchen amenities but enough for what we were looking for. We came with the intention to mainly just use the grill for our cooking, so it worked great for us.
The whole compound is actually really cool, you are secluded away from other properties, you can walk around the property and uphills for greater view points and views of the sunset. At night you get great star gazing. I will say if you are here for the ultimate star gazing it’s about a 7/10 because we wish we could have seen them a lot better but there are towns that give off a bit of light pollution. So maybe J tree camping would have been the move for that.
Over all the space/ property was beautiful, the pool was sick, and the host was responsive and very low key. 10/10 would recommend

Weekend Trip to High Desert Protocol
We absolutely loved our time at High Desert Protocol. We have stayed in a lot of places in the desert and this one is a true gem if you are looking for a fun but tranquil getaway!
We stayed in the Gallery which is very centrally located and is a well-decorated amazing space featuring AC which made it very comfortable. The two beds are on opposite sides of the container so it is a really nice option even for two couples or two people to have their own beds. The decor is lovely and there is a surprising amount of natural light in this shipping container which is a credit to Tao's construction (but bring an eye mask if you want to sleep in!).
The pool is just as breathtaking in real life as it is in the photos. We met a few other guests there and none of us wanted to leave.
The Quonset Hut is an incredible space, with a great bathroom with a double shower, and a VERY cozy lounge area and huge dining table. We went to a show at Pappy & Harriet's on one of our nights (only 15 minutes away) and then chilled in the Quonset Hut to decompress. A perfect evening!
The outdoor kitchen is well-equipped and the outdoor dining table is absolutely massive and looks like it's built for quite the party.
Tao's directions for check-in and his communication through our stay were perfect, and I got to meet him briefly, and he also seems as great as this incredible property. We can't wait to go back! Tips for other guests: bring bug spray for sunset and definitely bring shoes for exploring!

My friend and I wanted to sleep somewhere in nature while, not too far away, when I was in town and this spot was the best!
It was super helpful for us to already have the beds set up instead of bringing sleeping stuff since I was only in town for a little while—cut down on time and packing :)
When we arrived, Ron met us and shared info about the common areas and told us how to get to go to our site. We saw a couple other sites and all were comfortably spaced out. Once we were ready, we called him and he let us know how to fill the tub (super simple).
The site itself was great—plenty of shade, a table, and a campfire pit. I had a question about the common area pool and Ron was super quick to message back.
It was a full(ish?) moon and the sky was super pretty. When we walked to the bathroom at night, you could see mountains in the distance and I really loved the view.
When we walked back from the bathroom, we walked near the front gate and I got a little nervous thinking we were locked in (just a silly moment of being scared in a new place). Ron must have seen me on the ring cam and texted me right away saying it’s unlocked and we can leave any time. I felt a little embarrassed but grateful he was so nice and also good to know he’s got an eye on what’s going on.
My little pup and I would love to come back someday!

The place is quirky and unique. Feels remote but still close to town. Hot tub is nice. Feels like a small compound out in the desert but the corrugated tin fence around the property blocks the wind. Highly recommended.

Weekend Trip to Casa Cobalt Desert Trailer
This little spot was absolutely perfect for a weekend in the desert! I felt so lucky to find it available. I love glamping even when I travel for work as a wedding planner, and this camper was the perfect balance of getting back to basics while still having those “need to be presentable at work” and “need to recover from a hard day” luxuries. All of the amenities were in working order and I was as comfortable as could be even while temps outside were hitting the 40s and wind gusts were in the range of 40 mph. I would absolutely consider staying here again, and will definitely be bookmarking it for later! Thank you so much to the owners for opening this special place to guests like me!
