Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers.
Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. Lastly, we are only 18 miles from downtown Temecula and all food and activities they have to offer.
Even though we are near to activities you can find great things to do on our property as well. You can explore our 20 acres and hike through the olive groves all afternoon. You can also feed the chickens, ducks, and horses or head out the gate where you can find miles of dirt roads to roam. You can expect some natural noises during your stay. At a distance sometimes you’ll hear coyotes, owls, and the wake-up call from the rooster. Occasionally you will hear a donkey call in the distance.
Your hosts live on site and usually plan to meet and greet as needed. Once you are settled you will have plenty of privacy, but we are on-site in our private home and could be reached if needed!
This listing is for our spectacular yurt tent set and an RV site called the stables up on 20 acres in a secure and safe olive grove with plenty of privacy. You can expect spectacular views of the valley below, the Palomar mountains and relaxing sunsets under a beautiful blanket of stars. Our main house is about 600 feet from the site, but you will enjoy your own outside shower, compost restroom, picnic table, propane BBQ, large cooler, and fire pit! The tent accommodates up to 4 people and an additional person could bring their tent and set up on the site as well. Amenities listed below:

We really enjoyed our camping trip. The weather and views were beautiful; the tent was lovely and comfortable. Everything was set up when we got there and Lance came to check on us a few hours later. We had a great convo and shared some food. We were also visited by the sweet dogs Pala, Cozmo, and Lulu. We had a great time and will be back! Oh, we also really enjoyed the hammock!

We had an enjoyable time at this campsite. The tents were spacious and clean. The 4 dogs who roam the property are very friendly. We brought 4 herding type dogs of our own on this trip and the 8 dogs had a blast playing together down in the creek below us.

We had an amazing time on Eric’s property. The A frame is incredibly cozy, and it’s easy to regulate the temperature using the fans, screen door, and AC unit. The bed is very comfortable, and you can see both the sunrise and sunset from bed.
The 360 degree views from the property are breathtaking, and Eric has provided several good places to sit and relax at all hours of the day.
Eric is a terrific host, and there’s a reason every review speaks so highly of him. He’s incredibly kind, and made sure we had everything we needed.

Our Hipcamp experience was lovely. We enjoyed the views, the beds were comfortable and the hosts were very friendly. The neighborly dogs were super friendly too my kids were happy and they felt like safe dogs to be around. That’s important! The only one thing I have to say, is that the grounds were a bit uneven and difficult to navigate for myself (carrying a baby) and the pregnant mama. So that would be the only thing to note for the next hipcamper to notice before booking Bodhi Tree. The victory & faith booking did not seem to have the same type of issue. Otherwise, we will be booking again in the future!

Perfect setup for easy camping. We rented two sites and both had plenty of comfy sleeping space. The land is maintained really well and they check in on you and bring whatever you need (like propane and charcoal). The seating and cooking areas were great. Easy to find the camo sites, roads and trails are maintained also.

Booking: Lance was incredibly responsive when I had questions about whether or not his campsite would be the right fit for our large group.
Breakthrough Campsite: We were allowed to arrive early to beat the traffic coming from Orange County. We met Daniel and Mac who made sure our campsite was ready, including fresh sheets and a fresh mopping of the enclosed tent. Daniel also brought us potable water for us to wash our hands and clean dishes.
It was such a luxury to be able to sleep on a comfortable bed and inside a huge tent that was already set up for us. There were exterior solar powered lights and an option to plug in an external USB battery to internal tent lights.
The tent was large enough to sleep two adults and 8 girls comfortably with plenty of room for all of our sleeping bags and personal items.
The campfire was easy to use thanks to Daniel hooking up a propane tank.
Daniel and Mac even took all ten of us on their small trucks around the property for an adventure tour. They picked apples and grapefruit for us right off the trees.
The three friendly and well behaved ranch dogs were a highlight. We felt safe knowing they were patrolling the grounds at night.
Yes, the chairs could be replaced, the portable toilets could be cleaner, and the campsite was quite the journey to get there, but all that were minor inconveniences compared to the absolute great service provided by the team.
I would highly recommend this campsite to others and return again.

Weekend Trip to Fallbrook View Glamping Tent
My husband and I had a great stay at this property. It was easy to find our tent, the bathrooms were clean, the owner responds quickly to questions, and the views are beautiful!! Like others have mentioned the only downer were the loud roosters, however it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker. I’d just come prepared with ear plugs. It’s still worth staying and enjoying. I highly recommend!
