If you are not comfortable with livestock then this is not the property for you. There is an 1200 foot airstrip running through the middle of the orchard. Mineral bar campground, with access to the American River, is 20 minutes away by car where you can swim or pan for gold. Sugar Pine Reservoir is also about 20 minutes away by car, where you can fish or swim. Located near the reservoir are dirt bike trails ranging from beginner to advanced trails (check prior to see if they are open), . The top of Stevens trail is 15 minutes away but this is for advanced hikers only.

The remarkable property is very hilly with pines and oaks. You can follow our driveway to the bottom and access the beginning of The Bear River that has a nice hiking trail along side of it or 8 minutes to the nearest boat ramp and 10 minutes to the town of Colfax. Nature, taking care of itself, is truly a beautiful thing. Yellow Water Iris are in full bloom, spring through early summer. Dragonflies and butterflies sparkle in the sunshine. Frogs croak, bats dart here and there and big mouth bass become airborne in search of dinner in the early evening hours. Blue and White Heron visit the pond often – gracefully soaring over the pastures and pond in search of a safe place to land among the Iris. Watching them calculate a strategy to catch a meal, while appearing to stalk in slow motion – FASCINATING! Upwards of 40 Canada Geese goslings are hatched yearly on the grounds of HartSong. It’s absolutely adorable to watch the little ones as they frantically paddle along behind their moms. In addition and if you’re an early riser, you will most certainly feel blessed to observe the loving, yet stern, communications between Canada Goose parents (life- long mates) as they teach their young to fly - every morning at sunrise in the spring. Fire head of cattle (that have never known anything other than kindness), graze the pastures beyond the pond. Yes, they all have names and yes, they are all as sweet as can be. Their tranquility is contagious. The "one and only" ALP campsite is large enough to accommodate 9+ large tents. Only one camping group occupies this campsite. We live lakeside at Rollins Lake In Colfax. We live on a beautiful 30 acres with foot path access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. The remarkable property is very hilly with pines and oaks. You can follow our driveway to the bottom and access the beginning of The Bear River that has a nice hiking trail along side of it or 8 minutes to the nearest boat ramp and 10 minutes to the town of Colfax. We have a nice spot where you do not see any neighbors so it is peaceful and private with gorgeous 360 degree views. It is also very safe! We have 3 accommodations on the property A guest suite, a cabin, and a glamping dome! We have fishing boat, kayaks, and paddle boards for rent.
