Weekend Trip to Zephyr Mountain Avocado Grove

My family and I went tent camping on Shane’s land and it was great. The camp sites were far apart enough that it felt secluded, which we loved especially because we didn’t have to share a portal toilet. My daughter enjoyed seeing the animals in their animal sanctuary. Would recommend for small families.

Weekend Trip to A Unique Mountain Retreat

Discovering this place was an absolute win for my girlfriend and I who was looking for a place to getaway from for the weekend! We stayed in this very charming wooden cabin that was equipped with a pull out bed, fridge and a small sink. There are free showers available at the entrance of the property also equipped with deep sinks for dishwashing, basically you have everything you need to be comfortable. The place was so well kept and cleaned and the best part about this place was honest the host John! This sweet human being welcomed us when we arrived late into the night, showed us around the cabin and it’s features and than later he showed us the additional buildings around his property. We then found out that everything on this establishment was built be John himself, all the buildings, all the mechanics to keeping the place running was all done by him! John, if you’re reading this, we would love to come back again for a visit! We had such a lovely time, thank you so very much for accommodating us! - Richie and Annie

Wow, what a cool experience! This is not your run of the mill spot, it’s magical especially if you can make it to one of the more remote sites. The morning views of the clouds and mountains are second to none. We had no idea but they greet you with craft beers! Stoked that we didn’t see that in other reviews before booking. Hosts are great, beers are cold, and the area is beautiful. We feel so fortunate to have spent two nights here, didn’t want to go home. We’ll be back, keep the kegs full Darin 😃🤙🏼

Weekend Trip to Freedog Farms @ Cactus Flower Ranch

I don't know where to start, but this place rules. Lots of beautiful views, secluded camping spaces and freedom for our golden retrievers, Cody and Hazel. Darin and Sierra were marvelous hosts from their initial welcome to our tour to our choice of camping spot. The facilities were perfect for a weekend getaway. The mineral baths were a nice cool break from the heat. They recommended Gino's Pizza in Buelton and we do too!! Get the Gino's Special. We've already begun planning our return!! So fun!!

Our family and friends loved the song dog ranch double fire site. We loved the space/the privacy/ and the soaking tub. The kids enjoyed hiking/ playing in the tub. The ranch is very well cared for and beautiful! We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Mineral Spring Date Farm

Excellent value for money and ideally situated if you want to visit Palm Springs or Idyllwild. The natural spring water pools are perfect for taking the edge off the desert heat. Ron is super friendly and very welcoming.

Weekend Trip to Granite Mountain

Ken’s place was the perfect getaway! This tucked away, private, romantic, cozy, welcoming gem was an amazing find and we definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a little peace and quiet. The bed was extremely comfy and one can easily spend hours there staring out at the serene views of nature. The fridge/freezer combo was just big enough to store our food for the weekend. The kitchen area outside had everything one could want to make themselves a good meal. We brought our regular camping kitchen kit but Ken’s place did have also have pans, utensils, plates, cups if you aren’t traveling with those. The shower was excellent and perfect after a long day out. The composting toilet was easy to use and very convenient. Ken was awesome and very welcoming. He helped us check in, checked in on us via message, helped us out with anything we needed and helped us find some local stuff to do. All around an amazing experience that was just what we were looking for to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you so much Ken! We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Granite Mountain

Amazing stay at Granite Mountain! We stayed at The Eagles Nest site which had a beautiful, shaded view of the valley during the day, and of the stars in the sky at night. Ken was great, providing all the information we needed at every point of our stay, and the cabin was well stocked with everything that was mentioned as included. We had a great time taking a day trip to the nearby olive oil tasting, a bakery, and coffee shop, before coming back to rest on the deck during the afternoon and begin cooking for dinner. It was super peaceful and exactly what we wanted. Excited to stay again in the future!

Weekend Trip to Bailes Farm

Peace and serenity are the hallmarks of this stay. We came in late spring, it was warm during the day and perfectly cool at night. Getting there is a trip, I encourage you to watch the video the host made for how to get there. Also, if you have a car with low ground clearance, you may have a rough time. The accommodations were great too. The tiny home was well appointed, and the views are spectacular. What a beautiful place. I would recommend this place.

2 nights at Cuyama Badlands

2nd time here! Our absolute favorite campground so far that we have tried with Hip Camp. But we did enjoy our first trip back in Spring more than during now in the Summer. We will definitely be back when the wildflowers are back and the wind isn’t as crazy. We spent the entire time fighting off strong gushes of wind all day that covered everyone and everything in dust all day long but that is not fault of the campground. All part of the experience! Can’t wait to be back with more friends!

1 night at Bailes Farm

This was one of my favorite campsites I've ever been to! I have camped in Santa Cruz, Pismo and Big Sur, Yosemite as an example of a few places I've been and Bailles Farm is right at the top of the list. My husband is recovering from a stroke and with a little help from me was able to navigate the terrain of the site. The car was able to pull right up to unload. It reminded me of a cross between a cabin and tent; an outdoor experience and camping feel with the privacy of your own toilet and shower along with convenience of a kitchen and bed. If you are a nature buff like me, having a view of the valley WHILE using the facilities and showering is an amazing experience. I'd consider the site "user friendly" even for a first time camper. Our car is a Toyota Corolla and we had no trouble on the drive up. I suggest printing out your instructions or downloading them to your phone. I wish I'd printed reverse directions and map/photos the host provided via email because once you are on the back roads service gets spotty, although we did get reception once at the site. The firewood provided for the pot belly stove inside was gone and after a quick text, they brought us some more. Extremely courteous exchange with the host regarding this and questions we had on the way up. Make sure to take advantage of the hammock swings at sunset like we did and make s'mores or hotdogs over the gas fire pit at night. We will definitely be back. Thanks for hosting us!

Beautiful orchard. Very private as the other camp spot was like 100 ft away. Very nice fire pit and chairs. Had a picking table and a swing as well. Could t be more perfect for our first Hipcamp experience. Thank you.

Everything about this cabin was incredible. The views of the lake and mountain range are breathtaking, the kind that make you just want to sit back and soak it all in. The amenities were thoughtful and top-notch, which made it super easy to pack light and still feel totally comfortable. The bed was cozy, the shower was warm, and the whole place felt like a peaceful off-grid retreat while still having everything you need. It’s the perfect mix of nature and comfort. If you’re looking to unplug and recharge in a beautiful setting, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to King Creek Campground

My partner and I had a lovely weekend at this campsite. It was private and had a lot of land to explore. The site had two little tables, two plastic chairs and had a jug or spring water, all of it came in so handy. The fire pit was large and got a lot of use. Carlotta was very nice and informative and had the cutest dog. The bathroom is not the happiest place on earth but I was grateful there was even one to begin with and it served its purpose. The drive off the main road to the campsite was rough especially leaving but we got through it with some maneuvering. Overall, I can’t say anything negative about the experience and I plan to come back with more friends for more fun.

Children under 3 to 13 are $10 (infants/crawlers/new walkers are FREE). We love sharing our property with friends, family, HipCampers and dogs. Our property consists of: 43 rugged/hilly/mountainous acre with numerous flat plateaus and fantastic views. Each plateau has several great spots to car/van/truck camp, pitch a tent or park small trailers and small RVs. Larger RVs/Trailers fit on the front side of our property. SUMMER/FALL: Expect the landscape and views to be golden brown (not green and lush like in a lot of the photos posted which were taken this past winter/spring.) All of our sites are spread out with plenty of space for social distancing. DRY CAMPING: All of our sites are DRY camping (no water/electricity.) We provide a picnic table and one umbrella and a propane fire pit with a propane tank. Please bring additional shade structures if you think you’ll need more shade. Our best sites, with little-to-no traffic noise, (and the best views) are on our back property. Best suited for tents, camper vans, trucks, and SMALL trailers or SMALL RVs. There is a semi-steep hill up to our upper property if you're towing a trailer you will need a powerful vehicle to make it up the hill. Sites on our lower property by the common area are easily accessible with views up the hills/mountains but come with some highway noise. We imagine it sounds like waves crashing and call it the "steel river." For your private camp area, please bring your own drinking water, water to wash dishes and if think you'll need: chairs, camp tables, umbrellas or shade structures, trash bags/cans (throw your trash in the dumpster out side our entry gate when you leave. Plan on being fully self-sufficient. Otherwise, feel free to use the common area BBQ, Sink, tables and chairs at the barn until 10 pm. MOST DOGS WELCOMED... WE PROHIBIT UN-neutered aggressive breed dogs. DOGS ARE FREE TO RUN UNLEASHED ALL OVER OUR LAND. The front of our property is all. Fenced. The back property just has barbed wire. ABOUT OUR DOGS: We have one female dog and three male dogs (one of the three is UN-NEUTERED) a 10-year-old yellow lab (Titan-Dan.) A 14-year-old American Dingo (Reno.) 5-year-old Great Pyrenees (Bandit.) And then there is Cannoli a 7-year-old female Great Pyrenees who adopted us we saw her come through the bushes from the neighbors property across the highway… She ran across the highway and jumped the medium and ran up to our gate, she hasn’t left since… COMMON USE AREA: Inside and near the barn include tables, chairs, hammocks, wood fire pit, outdoor propane BBQ and stove, wash sink and outdoor mineral shower, and mineral cold plunge tubs. FIRE SAFETY and PROPANE FIREPITS: We have “very safe” propane firepits and fire extinguishers at every site. Under the right conditions, we will light a real wood fire at the common area by the barn. Feel free to join us in the early evening until 10pm. PORTA-POTTIES: We have porta-potties next to the Barn, the Garden, Running Dog Flats, and the Art Studio. They are pumped clean every Thursday and are generally very lightly used. If you don’t want to use the porta-potties we recommend/encourage you to bring your own camp toilet, bags, and absorbent. WILDLIFE: Our dogs do a great job of fending off the resident bobcat and coyotes on the front portion of our property and by the barn, if they are barking in the night there's a reason. If you end up camping on the front portion of our property and think their barking will affect your sleep, bring earplugs ;-). Drinking-WATER, Dish Washing Water and Shade: All of our sites are dry camping i.e. there is no potable water available. Please bring all your own drinking/dishwashing water. We have a picnic table and 1 umbrella at all the sites. Please bring additional shade i.e. easy up or other shade structures if you think you'll need it. Cold Mineral Dunks and Hot Outdoor Mineral Shower: We have huge aluminum cowboy cold dunk tubs available at what we lovingly/jokingly refer to as our very own “Cactus Flower Beach,” which is not a real beach… It feels like a beach because we’ve decked it out with lounge chairs, a daybed cabana, 150K pounds of sand and tiki-hut umbrellas. It’s fun to hang out there when it’s hot under the shade of the pepper trees. NOTE: The Outdoor Shower screening is a tad see-through. If you are shy, wear a bathing suit. Please limit showers to 3-5 minutes max. Mineral Water Definition: Water from a mineral spring or well (i.e. our well) that contains various minerals, such as salts and sulfur compounds. TRASH: Please pack all your trash out to the large trash bin located at the entrance to our property. Please take your recycling with you. ELECTRICITY and Wi-Fi: We have charging stations in the barn for your computers, phones, etc. Password: HowdyDoody (Accessible in and near the barn common area.) COMMISSARY: We have farm fresh eggs and meats from the pork palace across the street, and other swag i.e Hats for sale in the barn. FEED THE CHICKENS AND GOATS: Please feel free to feed the goats and chickens your vegetable scraps and or bring them a treat they love full heads of cabbage, lettuce, cantaloupe and watermelon. CHILDREN: For safety, children must be always accompanied by an adult! OUR RECOMMENDATIONS for THINGS TO DO WHILE YOU VISIT THE AREA: WINE TASTING We are in the heart of the wine country with a tasting room less than one mile away and/or a few short miles into the bst wine tasting rooms and wineries in Buellton, Solvang, Santa Ynez. Google search some of our favorite: Babcock Winery, Brick Barn, Dierber-Starlane, Folded Hills winery (which is on mile south of us.) BEACHES, HIKING and the brand new ZIP-LINE and ROPES Adventure Course! 15% off Zip-line and Ropes Adventure Course. Bailes Farm

One of the last remaining undeveloped parts of Southern California, De Luz Heights is located adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest, and the Santa Margarita River (just a few miles from the campsite). On my 60 acres, there are no major roads going through or next to the property. My land is 13 miles from the Pacific ocean and enjoys a relatively mild yearly climate. Giant boulders provide topographical relief and offer platforms from which to enjoy the view of the nearby Santa Margarita Mountains. The valley views are filled with olive and avocado groves, vineyards, and horse ranches. The Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base is nearby, so you might hear some artillery in the distance on some occasions. The campsite embraces all the comforts of "glamping": a hot shower, composting toilet, beds with sheets provided, gas grill with a stovetop, pots and pans, kitchenware, a sink, picnic table, shaded deck, sofa, lounge chairs, and propane fire pit. The basics are provided: toilet paper, paper towels, purified drinking water, towels, sheets, cooking oil, etc. Campers need to bring their own blankets. I've created a network of hiking trails for especially fit hikers looking for a more rigorous hike than the nearby Santa Margarita River Trail. My trails lead through creek beds, over boulders, through rocky crags, with views of the Pacific ocean on a clear day. Hikers on my trails need to wear proper hiking boots with good traction. Sections of my trails will require bouldering with hands and feet. Expect to have fatigued quadriceps, some scrapes, and a sweaty hat brim. The campsite is accessible with a two-wheel drive vehicle; I drive a Kia Forte out there regularly. However, some tips when driving a two-wheel drive car: when going uphill on a dirt road, try to keep some momentum of about 12-15 MPH. If you stop and try to start again, your tires will spin out. If that happens, just reverse down the hill, and try it again with more momentum.

As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue.
