The ranch is made up of their home and is also a venue for filming, photo shoots and small events. When not being used, camping guest are welcome to enjoy the area down around the authentic saloon, use the picnic area under large Oak trees and hike the property. We purchased the ranch 8 years ago and love being outside of the city in the mountains. Stargazing is a must when staying there!
The campsite is NEXT DOOR to Prospector Ranch, which is our 1800s-style ranch tucked away in the Santa Monica mountains, close to beaches, vineyards, amazing hiking, biking to the beach and the city! The wide open empty lot looks out at the beautiful mountains. Enjoy stunning sun sets and Picnic under the grand Oak Trees at the ranch or maybe come by the saloon next door for a cold beverage if we are around. :-). We are happy to point you in the direction for what ever you want to do.

My Son's Father & I Rescued This Land in 1998. It was Derelict. We were Handed A 1' HIGH FILE FULL OF Building Department "Violations" The Oaks were ALL Dying from Lack Of Fresh Air/Oxygen & Sunshine. This place far exceeded our expectations! We planned on a nice relaxing weekend and seeing some animals but the amount of animals and the overall scenery in the mountains was incredible. The cabin was very cozy and warm during the chilly evenings and it was so peaceful sitting by the fire or enjoying our coffee outside while admiring the animals. All of the animals were super friendly and overall unaffected by your presence. The staff pretty much left you alone but was very pleasant and informative whenever we crossed paths. They answered any and all questions we had while dropping off carrots, firewood and tending to the animals.

It was a really nice place to bring my family together and I would certainly go again. We were lucky to have the run of the whole place, although we actually slept in the wagon, which was warm and cozy. The bathroom was a ridiculously wonderful and unexpected bonus as it was far from what you'd expect from the campaign trip. Outdoor bath, outdoor shower heater, hairdryer shampoo, and conditioner. Everything you want. We had a really great time. Thank you.

This place was just what we were looking for. A quiet getaway in a beautiful setting. There is a farm and our toddler loved seeing the goats, chickens and donkey. We were shown great hospitality from the host and made us feel at home. Great hikes right outside the door! We were even able to purchase some meat and eggs from the farm! A unique experience all around, would highly recommend!

Everything about our stay was absolutely lovely. The home itself is warm and inviting with everything I needed to cook there and enjoy a nice weekend away. It’s also surrounded by a private fence so it made us feel even more disconnected from the world, making our trip that much more relaxing. Definitely a place worth staying over and over again. The bed was super comfortable and there was almost no outside noise to disturb us but the best part had to be the stargazing. The view of the night time sky was breathtaking. This has been my favorite place to stay.

Wonderful experience. Meggan was the perfect host, the camp site was clean, organized and very unique. Lots of options on where to sleep, refreshments, bedding, air con... Lots of games for kids to play too, places to sit and catch up with friends and loved ones. A large lot. Very luxurious and picturesque. Location is great with easy access too.

When I tell you hands down this was THE trip of the summer, I mean it! Lisa is incredibly kind, and her campsite gave everything it was supposed too! She is such a PHENOMENAL person, with a beautiful heart and spirit! My son and I had a blast, and her recommendation for the Sunday Brunch spot exceeded expectations! We had a great trip to the Dromedary House. Spent three peaceful days enjoying the exotic animals and scenic views. I loved the fire pit and BBQ area. It was perfect. The hosts were very responsive but not intrusive. We would definitely go again.

This a "hotel" with a pulse. My wife and I (and our Rottweiler, Rami) loved seeing the horses, camels, donkeys peacocks, alpacas etc. It was super low key and the views are wonderful with views from every angle....although next to I-5 you don't hear road noise you are basically on the top of a mountain.. It was a great twist from city life....the room we had was awesome and perfect for a couple although it has bunk beds and can sleep 3 although I think this house can sleep more. If my travels take me through so cal I will definitely stay again, but likely stay longer to do a hike, bike and get more immersed with geographical feel. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels all around the world and would place this location in the top 10 ranked on convenience, geographical presence, uniqueness and appeal.

Our family had the best time at Lone Juniper Ranch. The cabin was well-equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit and playground area. The kids loved seeing all the animals up close. The limited interaction we had with Marlin and his family was pleasant and prompt. I only wish the cabin doors had screens to keep the doors open and the bugs out. Minor inconvenience! We will absolutely stay here again!
