Parking spots are on flat grassy field, near neighborhood road, typically very quiet and dark at night.
We have nice bay breezes most every summer afternoon, and summer daytime temperatures are usually around 65 degrees. Abundant organic fruit free for the picking includes blueberries, blackberries, thimbleberries, kiwis, plums, pears and apples depending on the time of year (typically June through November) and we usually have fresh duck and chicken eggs, veggies, and culinary herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage, lavender etc.) to share from our garden, which is a work in progress, like many things!
You're welcome to hang out by the very private creek for morning coffee or afternoon picnics and great bird and wildlife watching--if you're lucky you might even get to see river otters fishing and playing in the creek! You might want to bring water shoes or rain boots if you'd like to wade across the creek and explore the beautiful, serene 60 acre private nature preserve that borders our property.

My aunt and uncle bought the property in 1947 from its first European settler, Paolo Gabrielli, who immigrated in early 1914 from northern Italy with slips of his grapevine in the lining of his coat. (The grapevine still grows over the back deck.) What can you expect? Quiet, beauty, birdsong, ocean roar, widely spaced campsites (only 5 on the 5 acres set aside for camping). Free firewood, local tips on travel and where to hike or what to visit. Or total solitude. Bring your (most non-cattle-chasing breeds) dogs if you wish (males must be neutered). Starlink internet. Walk to the beach of our wild ocean along a no-shoulder country road. We have no visible neighbors, no ambient light or sound. The air is clean and clear and the water is potable from an artesian spring on the property. No electricity at the sites and no generators allowed. (Charge your electronics at the farmhouse.) We offer homemade soup, cobbler, fresh bread, morning coffee as extras; you can order with the booking. The Victorian village of Ferndale is three miles east, as is a beautifully maintained 110-acre town wilderness with hiking trails called Russ Park. A 150-year-old cemetery slopes down a hillside & is filled with 19th century charm and history. Shops and restaurants welcome visitors. We offer a rustic, old-fashioned camping experience. It’s a mix of open field and scattered trees, with both RVs and tent campers on site. Neighbors will be nearby, but the vibe is quiet and relaxed—especially in the off-season, when you might have the place nearly to yourself.
The Klamath River is just over the levee—a short walk from your site—with great access for fishing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water. The river is world-famous for salmon and steelhead fishing (license required). August and September are peak fishing months, so expect a few early morning engines from folks heading out.
We’re only 4 miles off Highway 101, far enough to enjoy peace and quiet without traffic noise. Wildlife is part of the experience here, so please stash your food at night to keep critters out of camp.
Outdoor lovers will find plenty to explore nearby—hiking and biking trails, the Trees of Mystery, Jet Boat Tours, and, of course, miles of redwood forest to get lost in.

We are curruntly doing renovations at the far side of the park . it is done on the weekends , except on Holidays ,from 9am til 5pm ,because that is the only time my son gets off work from his job, sorry for any inconvenience.

From the friendly welcome to the quiet, peaceful overnight stay - I enjoyed Wendy and John's farm from the moment to I got there until I woke up and left in the morning! We had a wonderful two nights at Whispering Redwood Creek. It was very spacious, with beautiful trees and a lovely footbridge over the creek. Chris gave very good directions and we had no trouble finding the site. We had a relatively easy drive up in a 4WD SUV, but would have had trouble if in a less durable vehicle or with an inexperienced gravel road driver. We loved the picnic table and gathering area, and felt it would have been perfect size for a larger group than us (3 adults). Toilet worked great, BYO potable water & large propane tank if you want to use the fire. We were totally fine with our small camp cookstove. Would DEFINITELY stay here again- what a lovely experience.

Such a great spot! Was super secluded and all the bathrooms were clean and there was lots of water. I'm definitely planning on coming back here again. Only thing I wish I knew ahead of time was how dewey it gets at night. Definitely cover your fire pit with a tarp so it's easier to start in the morning!

Wendy and John’s property was just what we need to charge up our depleted internal batteries. It’s close to the beach. Close to Ferndale town. Camp residents are spaced far out. They had been very generous with the camp fire wood. There’s a big pile and it’s free. And the best part of it would be the couple who owns the property. Will definitely come back. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bigfoot Flat on Willow Creek. Shannon was super friendly and helpful in her messages. They provided potable water and a number of very clean porta potties for campers. There are a few sites but they are not close together. We mostly had the place to ourselves, one other person arrived while we were camping but they went to the other end of the area and we could not see or hear them from our site. There is some road noise but the lovely creek does a good job of drowning out most of it.
There is a good amount of mowed area to walk around and the creek to wade in as well as pretty views of the surrounding mountains. I would highly recommend this hip camp!

This campground is easy to get to, right off of Route 101, technically in Bayside, but right outside of Eureka proper. It is very clean, has really clean laundry facilities, hook-ups work great. There are fantastic lawn games including mini golf and pool/hot tub (seasonally).

We stayed in our van at Wendy and John's. The place was beautiful and quiet. The fire ring at each site was a great bonus. Everything is well maintained. Showers were great, and having a bathroom is a nice bonus.

The site’s description was accurate. Directions were clear and we had no issues finding the spot. The site was clean and amenities were nice. The lights were nice touch for a cozy night. My husband and I enjoyed our time after a long day of driving and hiking at Redwoods. Overall we had a pretty good experience.

this was the perfect spot. great location about 40 mins from arcata, the perfect half point for exploring the giants. site 3 for tent camping was perfect, the fire pit also had a grate that was perfect for cooking. clean restrooms, an abundance of firewood and drinking water were all great. beautiful location that’s down below the highway, private and with a nice creek running through. highly recommend and will be staying here next time i’m in the area! thanks for an awesome camp
